Don't count those tigerettes out!! They put a hurtin' on Friendship last Thursday, but got cheated out of the game and today they beat Red Boiling Springs 7-4 to go to the region finals. All I can say is watch out!!!

They impressed when they put Trousdale Co. out of

the Districts even more by playing 10 innings with

Friendship Christian(who should go to state). The

thing is I was at that game and they didn't get

cheated by what I saw. There were 2 ?able calls but

went both ways.So I don't see how they got cheated

it was pretty much evenly fought.

Yes, Watertowns Coach Webster was back against Grace Academy on Friday in Chattanooga but the assistants did a great job coaching the last 2 region games without him. The fact is, these ladies don't need a lot of coaching - Most of them have been playing this game for many years and learned the fundamentals and skill that it takes to get to this level before they ever got to Coach Webster. These ladies have the ability and heart and these coaches are able to motivate them to reach their potential.

In response to the comment about the disputed call at Friendship - It may have not determined the outcome of the game, but it was definitely a bad call. Anyone who thinks it wasn't a bad call, did not see it, including the officials. The officials missed the call, would not admit it and went on the punish the coach that disputed it.

ABOUT THE CALL: FIRST OF ALL I THOUGHT IT WAS A QUESTIONABLE CALL AT FIRST. THE REASON WAS AFTER SHE SO-CALLED CAUGHT THE BALL SHE ACTED AS IF SHE WANTED TO THROW TO FIRST. WHICH SHE WOULDNT HAVE TO DO IF SHE CAUGHT IT. SECONDLY, THE SHORTSTOP FOR FRIENDSHIP, WHO MADE THE PLAY, IS MY GOOD FRIEND AND A VERY HONEST, CHRISTIAN GIRL. I ASKED HER AFTER THE GAME WHETHER OR NOT SHE CAUGHT IT AND EVEN TOLD HER I KNEW SHE DIDNT TO MAKE HER TRY TO CONFESS SHE DIDNT. AFTER TALKING WITH HER SHE INDEED CAUGHT THE BALL. AFTER THE GAME WAS OVE RSHE COULD HAVE SAID SHE DIDNT CATCH IT AND IT REALLY WOULDNT HAVE MATTERED BUT SHE DIDNT. AND I KNOW IF SHE DIDNT CATCH IT SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TO TELL ME. ANY WAY THAT GAME IS OVER AND IN THE PAST AND FROM WHAT I HEAR WATERTOWN IS IN THE STATE TOURNEY AND IT REALLY DONT MATTER ANY MORE. SO GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS.

Congratulations to the watertown Purple tigerettes, I am very excited for you. I hope this experience will be one you will always remember. Coach webster and coach lasater have done very well with these girls. It is not often that you will find a coach that will stick his neck out and empty his pocket for something he believes in. These girls are offensively tough and defensively sound. These girls come from a smalltown, but they have big hearts and big dreams. Good luck in Chattanooga, I will be there cheering you on. Go big purple!!!!

That call in the FCS game was questionable, but The umps made the call and that is that. Even if she did look like she was throwing it to first doesn't matter, because I believe there was a runner on first, maybe she was trying first, first, to turn her double play. But instead wnt to second. All I have to say to watertown is QUIT WHINING. True ball players dont complain. You just are mad b/c you still haven't beat fcs, and it gets under your skin.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
