Notre Dame vs Ooltewah

In a game where a break one way or the other could have changed the final outcome, Notre Dame goes on to win 3-0 after being tied 0-0 at half. The first half was played pretty evenly as both teams had some scoring opportunities but both goalies were up to the task. In the second half ND got on the board with a nice left footed goal from Kris Cambron assisted by Danielle Ciabattone. Play was heating up as both teams were very physical and the pace of play picked up. Ooltewah was determined to get Morgan Shelton the ball and she did on several occasions, making some nice runs on goal. Notre Dame's defense did a very nice job in limiting the touches of Morgan as she is certainly a scoring threat every time she touches the ball. Meg Gorman who came into replace an injured Brooke Biddell in goal for the Irish made a couple of nice saves in net. The game went back and forth as both teams were giving it all they had. Darcy Brannen found the back of the net twice, both times assisted by Kris Cambron to make the final mark 3-0. The game was much more competitive than the score might indicate and there was certainly no quit in Ooltewah team. I know Ooltewah was disapointed with the way score ended but I think they are poised for a nice post season run. Best of luck the rest of the way.

This score surprised me (I really though Ooltewah would win this despite the change in game location). Any details re: the match other than what is in the above comment.

I think the depth of Notre Dame really paid dividends for them late in the game. Ooltewah while talented did not sub near as much as ND and I think they got tired in the second half. In my opinion that was the difference in the game.

I think that ND played a great game, but ooltewah had more of a drive, and was more all around as opposed to ND who had primary players. Ooltewah has really great players, but they seem to work better as a team. And yea I agree that ND subed better than Ooltewah - which resulted in the lady owls being more tired in the end. but not once did they give up. Congrats to the ND girls for the W for sure though.

With due respect to the Ooltewah team, whose players gave great effort and intensity, it was my observation that ND controlled the field for a majority of the game. Agree with Chasanooga that a few breaks the other way for Ooltewah could have resulted in a closer outcome. Best of luck to both teams going forward.
