What is the history of the Katie Hunter Tournament?

I have heard different things.

And was just curious of who Katie Hunter was?

If anyone can elaborate, I would greatly appreciate it.

Someone with more Oak Ridge background correct me if I make mistakes, but I think Katie Hunter was a player on the Oak Ridge team, a goalkeeper if I'm not mistaken, who was accidently struck in the jaw during a collision in the course of play. It was an incredible tragedy that the collision caused a brain injury that ultimately let to Katie's death. Unbelievably sad.

I suggest you go to the team's website, contact the coach through email and he more than likely will provide additional details. I do not believe she was a member of the high school team, but the local club team.
