The all american magazines such as street and smiths college prep basketball sometimes leaves out some of the best players that certain areas have to offer, for example Brian Fisk and Montrell Crittendon. These 2 player have no doubt shown that they can play with the best in the state for they have done for three years in a row and will do it once more this year.

Don't stress those magazines. They miss a ton of players, all of the time. Honestly, all Rankings miss a number of players, or rate some kids too low, etc. That is the name of the game. It's all about 1)exposure and 2)performances at the right time or on a national scene.

Montrelle is a perfect example of this. It just so happened that on a National scene where he could have garnered much attention, both from scouting services and High Major colleges, Montrelle happened to not play up to his ability.

Another perfect example is former Hardin Co star Justin Flatt. Flatt was on no one's Top 300 or so for most of his High School career. In fact, he made just one or two Top 300 (or 400 or 500, I can't remember), by the end of the summer before his Senior year (the most important summer for a prospect). A big time performance throughout an important tournament in that October proppelled Justin to be ranked #90 nationally by Bob Gibbons, #107 by Prepstars, Top 150 by Bluechiphoops, etc, and a scholarship to NC State.

It is all about how well you perform in front of the "Right people"........
