Camden football job

Whats the rumor on the Camden Lion football job. I hear the administration is willing to hire a head coach and also put a couple of good assistants with him. Look I am a football fan and Camden can win 4 or 5 games with the people I hear are interested.

Jack McGee,retired football coach and current principle at Bruceton, was the frontrunner for the head coach position but recently turned down the job.Camden administrators are looking to find replacements for the head coach position and one or two assistant coach spots.I've heard they're looking at an assistant from Lewis Co. and another from McKenzie.Please update if you have any new info.

I also heard Coach Adams,who is at Lexington now I think, has been contacted.He has coached at Camden before.

Coach Adams is at Henry County. They were looking at Coach Adams to assist McGee. I think he has already turned an assistant job down at Camden.

In the job I work I visit a lot of places around west tn. The word I got today from a Camden football fan, was 2- coaches was at the school Wed. before Thanksgiving. I refuse to mention names, but I will give you a hint and you can figure it out. Westview Highschool top assistant and Greenfields young coach that took a head job in Mississippi during the summer. Like I said this is just talk, but the person who told me is preety much in the mix. Find out if rumor or not Lionchc.

Rusty Taylor was at Camden from 85 to about 88 as an assistant. That's the only assistant I know from Westview. He was at Crockett Co.during their winless years. Coach Taylor is a fine man but I don't know that he's the answer.

This is probably going to be the only I can personally confirm a coaching hiring but I can confirm Kevin Ward of Westview is the new head coach at Camden.My information comes from his brother.

Give us a little background on the new coach.We're pretty excited around here, with the new coach and talent we have coming up.We've had some good Jr. High teams the past few years and are ready to see our High School be able to "compete" with the better teams on our schedule.
