Guest 22SoftballP
Just wondering can anyone tell me who will be starting for Beech this year? I would like to know where and who for all. Will it be all the Juniors or all Seniors?
FPFanatic
just for fun (not trying to get anything stirred up, govols), I think I could list the lineup almost as good as brinkley for beech, as I have seen the girls since 10-U. no brainer, the pitcher is Stanfill, Soph. catcher may be the new transfer from Bartlett, if not, would be Christen James, Sr. 1B is James, if she is not catching (if so, would be Sinyard). 2B is Amy Chatham, Jr. SS is Amber Warren, Jr. 3B is Brittany Barry, Jr. OF is Allie Smith, Jr., Casey Duke, Sr., Ashley Sinyard, Sr. Subs are Courtney Langston, Sr., Nicole Eckley, Jr., Kara Jones, Sr. There you have it, all seniors and juniors except for the soph pitcher. I don't see any other sophs or freshman breaking the line-up. Like I said this was just for fun, but look and see how close this is to brinkley's lineup. govolz
I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head. But, what do we know? I think that there is one person that you left off that is going to fit in the mix somehow and that would be Marley Birdwell...
FPFanatic
how could I forget Marley (another jr.), she will help out at 2B and in the outfield. BTW, all the starters are good college prospects, although some may need to decide if it will be in basketball or softball. I would not worry if some don't play very much travel ball, what with the talent they have, they can play college ball at a lot of places by marketing themselves directly to the colleges. govolz
I agree, I will be curious to see how Beech's program will be after all of the juniors this year graduate next year. With the addition of 2 new school's (PJP II & Station Camp)in the area it will definately pull from the talent pool that would normaly go to Beech. THis area has always been a hot bed for talent due to the 2 great programs that are in the area (Moss Wright Park & Hendersonville Park).I had also heard rumor that Beech could possibly go to AA next year? I don't know. What do you think.
FPFanatic
gee gv, those are some really thought provoking questions you pose. I don't think JPJII or Station Camp will really hurt Beech or Hendersonville (although Hville did lose good basketball players to them this year). I don't think either program lost any softball starters to them this year. About the future after this year's juniors graduate, who knows, Beech still pulls in a lot of the talent from the Goodlettsville league (what Goodpasture, Davidson Academy, and Hunters Lane does not get), so the future still looks good for Beech although they may only have 1 or 2 Sophs on this years team. The only way it would look bleak would be if brinkley quit and coached basketball or whatever. As far as them going to AA, I don't think their enrollment would drop that low with all the housing development and people still moving into town, but what do I know? It's been mentioned in other threads about the hotbed of talent in this area with all the schools mentioned (Hunters Lane, Beech, Goodpasture, Hendersonville, Davidson Academy, not even to mention JPII and Station Camp), within this 20 mile or so radius there are probably more athletes than any where else in the state, and that is not even counting all the talented ones that don't play for whatever reason any more, so I don't see much, if any, changes coming down the pike anytime soon. Just imagine the cream of the crop from this area playing on the same travel team, "gold" would not do them justice! they would have to go "platinum"! govolz
I suppose you are right about the future still looking bright in this area for Beech. But, as you and I both know there are alot of players opting out to private schools over public and that 20 mile radius that you spoke of, has some of the best private schools around. And that talk about Platinum...Are you trying to get a new Division in Travel ball started? It sure sounds good though don't it. "Platinum" Yea, I like that. Give it a couple of more years and I guess that will be the only group that the College coaches (scouts) will look at also.
