Ill tell ya.... I was really suprised by how many squads from both Tennessee and Georgia were in the Fab 50! I know this only accounts for the states that play during the spring semester but its still rather impressive... maybe they should start having a Tn/Ga Soccer game with All-Stars from both states! ... However I know that the ratio of team in the Top-50 would fall were teams from California, Florida and New Jersey, were in this mix as well... There is alot of soccer played in the northeastern states and its much more of a thing than here in the south... However I am very impressed with the state of Tennessee's showing in these preseason rankings

yeah... North Georgia with the exception of Dalton is the worst soccer area Ive seen in a long time... it would be much more of a game if they could get some of the atlanta -area schools to participate...Dalton is good... but every other team Ive seen from North Georgia is terrible... i just wonder why? Southeast Tennessee is really loaded with Talent but it seems as soon as you cross the border no one even knows the game exists... kinda pathetic really

I have a feeling that before the end of this season, we will see McCallie on that list (quite possibly even high up). McCallie plays westminster, catholic, beardon, norman north, parkview, christian brothers, and farragut. This team is honestly stronger than last years team. They're gonna surprise a lot of people this year.

I agree. McCallie, as usual, has a very fine team and should have an outstanding season. I would be surprised if they don't beat a number of the many ranked teams they'll be playing. The McCallie / Farragut scrimmage on Thursday should be a good match.

Would someone like to explain to me why Bearden is ranked #3? They lost the 5-6 best players on their team and there was a huge drop-off between them and the rest of the team. They lost most if not all of their midfield, ALL of their scoring punch and their keeper. I don't see them making it out of the region, much less #3 in the country.

Two points...1) the pre-season rankings had to be based on past performance--there's nothing else to go on ; and 2) teams shouldn't look past Bearden; usually teams that do, lose. Elite teams like Farragut and Bearden (and several others around the state) don't ever seem to run out of players and their coaches see to it they never run out of effort. #3 in the Nation, who knows? But they will be very good.

    • They’re building something special there. They have 4 Varsity games scheduled & 5 JV. They are trying for a 5th Varsity game. Beat them now because they will be good in the future. They are building a football field there I think but the rich pricks of Farragut won’t let them get lights so they are possibly looking at property to build a stadium & field with lights

As for the prospective successor to the coaching helm, the mention of esteemed mentor Nick Saban's absence prompts a discerning hesitation towards alternative candidates, for excellence is the sole criterion deemed worthy of emulation.  Pray, may I inquire as to your esteemed identity?
