  1. I talk with football coaches and they even think 5 Classes are too many and it waters down and somewhat cheapens the championships. I think 4 across the board would fix most problems.
  2. It's all good! It's just frustrating to watch 75% of all TN high school athletes get treated unfairly. 5 Classes for football and 3 for all other sports will never be justified.
  3. Funny you say......ok, I have mentioned here many times, contacted TSSAA, expressed my opinion to several reporters....And the discrimination is the fact that football is realigned, reclassified, and massaged every couple of years while all other sports are disregarded. To justify classifying 1 sport and ignoring the others is an absolute embarrassment and flat out discriminatory. Does that help you?
  4. Too bad Mr. Patton won't cover the real issue and that's the discrimination that the TSSAA continues to dish out to every sport other than their prized football. It's amazing how none of the reporters will cover it......They are afraid they will lose their access from TSSAA. And for the record, he and others have been asked numerous times to cover it. #Typical
  5. She is a great player. I've had the privilege of seeing her play several times and she is for real. She actually started at Ezell and played for them in middle school....then CPA came along and did what they do - RECRUIT and low and behold she ended up there. Now she's back where she began. I wish her well and look forward to seeing her play at the next level.
  6. Summertown has a strong team - seen them play a couple of times this year. I agree on them winning Distrct 12 - the district is probably the weakest its been in years and they should have no trouble winning it. As far as the Forest Game - Yost was out for Forest which obviously changes things. Yost is the real deal and Forest is a much different ball team with her on the floor.
  7. It's puzzling how school administrators can continue to remain silent about it. 2/3 of their student athletes are blatantly being discriminated against but they still pay the TSSAA dues and remain silent. What message are they sending to their athletes? I would argue the same message being sent down from TSSAA - only football matters.
  8. She is a great player and a D I Player. However, she is ineligible this year after transferring to Ezell from CPA. She will play next year which will be her senior year for Ezell.
  9. It's an embarrassment to everything that is fair and just! I agree that the coaches, schools, etc. should get involved but it shouldn't take anyone to get involved to do the right thing. The TSSAA ought to be ashamed of themselves. Schools ought to demand that they treat all sports equally or pull out of the TSSAA. There will NEVER be a justification for it. The TSSAA can try to explain it away all they want but I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing that they are mistreating the majority of high school athletes across the state. Football is their Cash Cow and they don't care about any other sport - it's obvious in their decision making. I hope that schools band together and file a Title IX lawsuit against them.
  10. It was a terrible vote by the TSSAA. To classify 315 football teams into 6 classes and leave 360 basketball schools in 3 classes in an embarrassment. Shame on the TSSAA! Schools need to come together and file a Title IX lawsuit against them and any school that has any concern for ALL of its athletes should look to form another association. I've heard the excuses why they couldn't change it and NONE of them hold water. It's a clear display of favoritism and discrimination.

  12. Elizabethton needs to take care of the ball tomorrow. Westview scored 13 pts off of 13 Turnovers.
  13. I saw both teams play today and I was very impressed with MLK. I didn't think Elizabethton looked real sharp but I realize tomorrow is another day. However, I wouldn't bet against MLK.
  14. I think CPA will win again and it won't be as close as the other times. CPA is very good, however, they have no business in the same division as the public schools. I was glad to see CPA win the football championship in hopes that the 'powers that be' would make a change and remove all private schools from the public school divisions. It seems that the only voice TSSAA listens to is the one that comes from the football field which is obvious by their continued complete disregard for ALL other sports.
  15. I agree with the TSSAA's decision to suspend the teams and coaches, but I can't help but to point out the hypocrisy that the TSSAA continues to display. They said it was a 'mockery' of the game and I agree, but how do the same people who call it a mockery continue to make a mockery out of high school sports by only taking care of the state's football programs? Football is evaluated every few years and they re-classify, re-district, etc. but nothing is ever done about the other sports. If it's fair to re-district football because of the size of schools, then how it is not fair to treat all sports the same? Schools competing with other schools with twice the enrollment is unfair whether the sport is football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, etc. The TSSAA continues to show their favoritism and hypocrisy and shame on them for it.
