  1. I will start by saying that off the field Darren Bowling my have been the best man you will ever meet and he my have not. I didn't carry a great off the field relationship with him and don't know a lot about him. I will say that when it comes to football I have a lot of respect for his overall knowledge of the game and was excited about the offense he brought to the game. I always stood strong on my opinion that he would be a great offensive cordinator somewhere. That being said it takes more of a man to stand in there and take the critizm of others and stick it out with a progam that may be on the decline for the next year or two for sure. We're not going to be a state title contender unless we just flat out play amazing football that is for sure. To tell a bunch of high school kids how excited you are about an opprunity like Dyersburg, have a good season, and lose talent like he did, then jump off the Trojan train like he did was very immature in my opinion. I know some of you won't agree but I just don't care. He said in the paper he though Dyersburg was a school where the imprint of tradition was already layed down and he wanted his own tradition. Over the next two years Bowling would have been able to get his offense in place and really put his name on Dyersburg football but he's gone and thats that. On another note. I am just plum tickled to have Counce back at Dyersburg. I really believe that when Counce gets back in the swing of things this Dyersburg team will become a dynasty I applaud him for taking his time to deal with things and taking a step back to catch his breathe. Also for someone to leave a state title team like MBA, and come back because he felt like this was home. Says a lot. He will bring disipline, respect and character back to Dyersburg. I think he learned a lot from MBA and knows now what it takes to win a state title. There will be some new things from Counce but it will be that same old Counce we grew a custom to. I am excited about what he will bring to the table and suppot any decision he makes. Not that my oppinon will matter to him. And thats what I like most.
  2. I am real fired up for tomorrow's game and will be a bit more the closer to the game. These seniors have taken Dyersburg to a level that was visible but really unseen for a long time. Counce brought DHS to great things and these seniors have gone big each year they have touched the field. Undefeated as freshmen, 10-0 season and a number 1 ranking as somphmores, Sate semi's as junior, and now as seniors I am pretty sure they don't want their big season to end in Memphis. Reguardless though these seniors have given Dyersburg a lot to be proud of.....If tomorrow is there last game in Black and Gold trust me when I say that together with their team they will fight until the very end.....I am starting to thinking about the game and pass happy Ken Torey is starting to make my stomach hurt. The pass defense, which has been suspect to say the least will have to come up big. With Caldwell back it will only help, but man we are going to have to play huge on defense. I can tell you the dream scenerio would be for Caldwell and Taylor to have a few early INT's caused by the relientless pressure our D-line imposes. The offense post a bug score on the board early and by the time Ken gets in rythme the game is virtually over, but I don't think that will happen...The key is the D line though if we can create enough pressure with it we can drop the Linebackers in coverage creating a better opprunity to disrupt the passing lanes. With our unstoppable rushing attack, we should be able to control the clock with a steady dose of Beau and the rest of the FB's. Then the outside game will open up. I think last week Dyersburg got comfortable being in a shoot out with Trezvent early and we got lucky and got some stops and we just had more weapons. This week we really want a different type of game. They have the speed to match ours, and there will be big plays for both teams but we can actually be more phyiscally this game. Which is huge. If Beau has over 100 yards rushing I could see Dyersburg could win by twenty. Parker will let every play clock run down, and will contol the clock and the pace of the game.....I nervous about this one it will be good. Dyersburg can do it. They just have to play their best, and if I was judging off last week preformance. That in my opinion the best preformance of the year for us,. With Caldwell back, we fix the small things we lacked last week and we win.
  3. Dyersburg needs to set the tone early in this one. We really need to get some quick scores which should be a problem, and maybe a huge lick on Ken Torey early to disrupt his rythme. Torey is a great talent, but if we throw the right looks at him we might be able to confuse him. This won't be the first meeting though and Some of the athletes for Dyersburg remember what kind of talent he had and they will be ready. I'd like to say we are preparing well on pass coverage this week but I don't know. If anyone does know anything about preactive this week let us kno. I am taking Dyersburg 38 Mitchell 28
  4. DC doesn't want a game like the first one. I can promise you that. Haywood will be out for recenge. They are gonna want it a lot more then the first meeting. Haywood defense can slow down this DC offense as well. They have a huge D line and speed in the secondary to keep up. If the game is close the loss of B.A will then come into a factor cuz this Haywood team is going to try to beat you up all day. Linebackers are goin to play a big role in this one and B.A not out there is goin to hurt. The best thing for DC would be to jump on them early and not let them up. There not a major offense team is Haywood and if you can get up 10 or so early it will probably be to much for them to catch up. If its close it could be bad for DC, but I am taking DC so we can keep the idea of a rematch in mind next week.
  5. The Trojans played their best game of the season last night. Without Caldwell, they had a great balance between runners. With Beau back there it gives you a bruiser that makes you respect the inside. Its beautiful how the offense opens up when Beau pounds a few people. They played well but could play even better which is scary. We have said that all year though...Logan Parker made a few decisions that were kind of odd, but we got a week to improve. I don't like to hear about the Mitchell QB. I do remember him for last year, he was very athletic and gave our D fits. I think we might be up to the task. Dyersburg knows what teams are goin to want to do so I think they will pull together and tighten up next week. Its early but if Mitchell plays like they did against Ripley. I will say DHS ,,,,BIG
  6. Yea I have to agrree with most people. I saw Ftayser at the beginning of the year. It was pathetic.I would like to say they have improved from then. but according to their record they haven't. Their only win was a 14-12 squeaker over Hillcrest. Plus this DC team is playing their best football right now. I would say to DC watch out cuz these teams from Memphis love to play spoiler but I think they are ready and will get the job done One thing that I will say might change things. In the Dyersburg game they never punted the ball giving Dyersburg amazing field possession all night long. If the have any type of punting game it could turn into a game of field possessoin and they might have a small chance. They werent that bad when they played us, but we usually started at the 30 yard line or shorter with only a small ammount of field to score with.
  7. Good Luck Trojans.......Hope you are ready for a real test. Lets get the job done. GO TROJANS!!!!
  8. Yea, I don't know about winning big. I am actually putting the Trojans on upset alert this week. Trezvent has all the components to kock us out early. The loss of Caldwell just takes on weapon off the field. The one weapon who has shined reguardless of who you put on him. If Taylor is having problem with the coaching staff that is just another isuue we wil have to deal with, and the type of performances we have put out the last three weeks won't get it done anymore. Its the playoofs now and mistakes will start to cost us. If we slip we will be looking at next season. Get focused Trojans and lets have our first mistake free game.
  9. Yea, I don't know about winning big. I am actually putting the Trojans on upset alert this week. Trezvent has all the components to kock us out early. 10. IYea I was looking over the Trezvent schedule and the played alot of teams tough, along with beating Fayette Ware. The have a lot of talent and have 2 or 3 losses to good teams from Mississppi. They will be a real chellenge. Dyersburg will definetly be favored. I would think that if they play well they could win pretty easily but They must play well. We definetly can't look over this one though, becuz Dyersburg could definetly be sitting at home next week......The time for wondering is over though. We spent all season saying that if they got there it would be freat and we would make a run. After every game the Trojans would look confused in, they made bad mistakes and on saturdays we were on here talking about how good they can be. Well that time is over, if they play bad this week there won't be any reason to log on saturday. Unless you going to talk basketball.......Lets go Trojans,,,,4qurater of great football likke we know you can.
  11. Some one also mentioned the possiblity of seeing Mcnairy again for a rematch of that lob sided game....I will say that DC is playing a lot different now but Mcnairy drew Liscomb in the first round, so guess what you can fot get...Liscom is my pick from the bottom half of the bracket, but my heart is going to somebody in this county.....I don't care if its either team. I just hope its wearing Black and Gold
  12. The roat is long boys, and you need to keep that swagger and gorget the ring. If it happens for either team in this happens for any team in this County good, but just let it happen and let your play do the talking not your opinion. it takes more then desire to win.......It takes talent, hard work, and most of all GOOD LUCK...Sometmes your best is not good enough, and you have got to go that extra mile.....The playoffs are goin to test you and give you everything you want. Keep your eyes on the prize and leave it all on the field. Understand what kind of mark you leave in the record books if you take this county somewhere is hasn't beenin 30 plus years..That goes for both teams
  13. If Caldwell is out it may not be that bad. He wwas out early in the season and we went on about our business. Taylor played big in those games and he will need to do the same in this one....Covington had one heck of a defensive game against Dyersburg last week, but thats not that hard. Our offense was predictable most of the game, and in the fourth quarter it definetly was. Beau had 25 carries and probably 12 in the fourth alone. I love him at FB but that wasn't the answer that jumpstarted the offense. It got us the win, but it didn't help the O. 10-0 would have meant nothing and 9-1 means nothing. Like the guy said. Its 0-0. you got a 5 game season and you must go undefeated. There is no roomj for all the mistakes or penalites. Fumbles, dropped balls, holding penalites. Its all got to stop now or you seniors will be sitting at home looking at that poster of that State Title ring while you clean out your locker......... No Regrets. No Fear...No Mistakes...Leave it all on the filed and don't leave yourself to thinking well if we wouldn't have fumbled that play or had that holding penality that brought back that touchdown....No of it.......Its time to shine Trojans....Look at your team mate beside you and let him know....He better get his job done becuz you going to do yours, and if you both acheive your goal you will be victorious........... I hate watching all this potenial being wasted by bad play and we have all seen it the last feew weeks, but this team has been slapped in the face the last two weeks, and I hope they now understand anyone can beat them and they pull together to make this playoff run.......Lets go boys........Together we attack........GO TROJANS!!1 I will try not to focus on the things we have done wrong and concentrate on the team at hand, so if anybody knows anything about Trezvent let me know...I want a scouting report that means more then their record cuz I have already seen that.
  14. I am gonna tell you one thing if Dyersburg plays like they have the last four weeks then that is the place to watch a football game. They will make sure its interesting, because they are stinking it up. I believe that if they play the way they have since week 6 DHS will be sitting at home next week wondering what happened to their Championship season. If you want a good game come to Dyersburg. They don't play well in the first round, They aren't playing like much of a team right now anyway, and if they continue to give the ball up, and have stupid penalites you will be wondering who will take it in the fourth quarter................ And on this thread....This is amazing the idea of people actually talking about a game that is two weeks away is amazing. There is no way we are doing this....I hate to say it guys but I wouldn't expect for this rematch to happen...Dyersburg beat Frayser early in the season. They won 42-14. but it could have been worse. Frayser didn't punt one time, Even on 4 and 17 on the 5 yard line...It was horrific. They gave us a lot of points, and like I said it could have been worse. The way DC is playing right now they SHOULD win handly...On DHS's side...I don't know a lot about Trezvent if their record means anything we should be ok, but in Dyersburg we know not to lok at that....Covington finished 2-8, and they should have beat us last week, and Sheffield did beat us two years ago in the first round with a 2-8 record..... so who knows...They are from Memphis and there are a lot of athletes there so you never know what your gonna get.........In the second round assuming we will both get there the real challenges start......Dyersburg should have to play a Mitchell team that is stacked. The have played really well this year against region oppinents. And we can't over lok them becuz they are really good.....DC should face Sheffield, or maybe Haywood........Sheffield is pretty good. They beat everyone in their region except Mitchell. but Mitchell beat the brakes off Sheffield, so you don't know what your gonna get...Haywood could upset them and if so DC had some trouble with Haywood. I really feel like Haywood could have beat DC if you take out the safety they give up and a missed field goal, so well see....If both teams get there then we can talk but right now I don't see it.....Good luck to both teams and hope to see you in week 3
  15. I'm just going to say that if the Trojans play at the level they are playing at right now they probably won't make it though week 11. The mistakes are getting real old, these are things that should be happen. Bowling got comfortable with the FB and stuck with it. Bo was amazing at FB. I still think you could have ran Cunningham or Ellis as a great change of pace,, but liked how tough BO ran....Taylor was shut down. Looks like they were out to keep him and Caldweel contained. Caldwell can just flat out beat anybody, the kid is good. You can't stop him. Hope he isn't sitting out next week. We still are aking a lot of mistakes and if you take them out we win a little more impressively. I notice that we get something that works and we settle for it. If you give us the pitch we will take it. You give us the fullback we will take it for what it is worth, and if you let logan run he will......They just have got to fix the mistakes.....Good luck in the playoffs.
  16. First of I ain't goin anywhere. My lil bro played for D'burg, I graduated from there and have been watching football at DHS since I was in 4th grade. Reguardless of what we do I will be in the stands giving it all I got. I was as loud for the Frayser game as I was for the DC game so don't think I am goin anywhere. I'm a diehard fan. I may not have 30 years of expierence but I do know this game. A lot better then most. Secondly I never flat out dogged Coach Bowling, I think he has a genius offensive mind, but it take more then a great football mind to be a good High School football coach. I love the idea of the new offense becuz thats all it is now. And thats the problem. You said that they will continue to work on it and maybe add somethings here and there. ITS WEEK 10. They should be hitting on all cylinders by now, and their not. This offense is nowhere near what we expect to see and sadly enough it probably won't get there. Everytime they find some sort of rythme that QB that you like so much has a fumble or a bad handoff. ...Mistakes and bad reads are costing us majorly. Defense are starting to figure us out and that offense that has score 40 plus on everybody has been slowed down the psat three weeks. Other then on amazing quarter against Bolivar. I am with on the offense, I think it could fly, but in two weeks we will be looking at either Sheffield or Mitchell. We might be 4 points away from 9-0 but we are no where near good enough to beat Liscomb this year at the rate we are playing at. Thats a promise. I am a realist and I understand that the is good and then there is another level. Dyersburg hasn't and I am skeptical they will reach that level...........A loss may have been the greatest thing for us though and we will see Friday night. If we fix the mistakes and play a little better I will be with you cheering them on in Murphesboro
  17. I I have read almost every post and agree with most of them. I like Coach Bowling. I think he could be one of the best offensive cordinators in high school football, but that is it. Offensive Cordinator.......I have seen something that I haven't seen in past years, and thats a lack of dispiline. I will say that Caldwell and Taylor have had a lack of production the past few weeks and its becuz they usually only touch the ball 7 times a game which is ludacris. Your playmakers must touch the ball reguardless of what reads were mdae by the QB. Find a way to get the ball to the playmakers..The playmakers haven't touched the ball more then 7 or 8 times in any game. Its ridicuelous. I know that in the Ripley game Caldwell had 170 on 7 carries. Me and my buddy were talking about how he could have had a monster game if he would just have touched it 15 to 18 times like he should. Thats something that needs to be fixed. I think it will. What hasn't been fixed and what I think is the major problem is the mistakes that have been made on what I think is a lack of disipline and focus. There is no reason for penalites and fumbles and dumb things like that to stop drives right in the middle of finding your rythme. We had six fumbles against Haywood and scraped by. We did the same thing against Dyer Co and it bite us....Those are things that as a football team you can do. I know that I didnt like Counce's X's and O's, but if he had three fumbles in one quarter someone would have heard about it on that sidlein. he would have been going crazy....There is none of that on this years team and intil there is the mistakes will continue.
  18. Coming off a huge loss. The finger pointing has began. How will this Trojan team respond? Whats the word on the Caldwell rumor? Anybody know how pratice is gion? What will be the response not only in this coming game but in the playoffs. Can they fix things and get hot in two weeks?
  19. First of you didn't really slow us down, or stop our motor. Dyersburg had numberous channces to win that ball game, I can remember to second downs. Logan Parker took the snap and just dropped it putting us in 3rd and longs. The first drive before the game ever started we had two penalites that put us in 1st and 20. OUr fullback had two fumbles. Oh and if you take out that fumble late that just looked like a miscommication, we might have still won. Don't get me wrong. You guys won and you deserved it but don't get it twisted. The crow was good, but revenge is sweeter. I promise you if you see them again it will be a lot different football game. Coming in to our house and taking our regoion title on our homecoming was like rubbing salt in a wouind. These Trojans will finally get focused and IF they do alot of teams arent going to like it. That goes for the Chocs too. Your son had one heck of a game though. I didn't see 4.41 speed cut he was definetly quick...Lets quit all this hating and braggin alone. You Champs and winners now act like it. If you read that post again the guy said Crokett was gonna win, nothing bad about DC just he though Crockett would win. Crockett played with Dyersburg, and We could have beat you so its not a terrible prediction. You won't know until friday nigh.t. You know I couldn't agree more with your observation or the crowd. Its sad that we have found ourselves to good to stand up and give our team what they deserved. DC hasn't hat a lot to cheer about in the last few years, but now that they do its amazing how excited they are about their sucess. It disgraceful to go to a Dyersburg game that has some type of magintude and watch us just sut there quite and talk the weather and what we did at work. I was sitting at the 30 yard line on the oppisite end of the band and I was told to sit down like 3 time in crucial 3rd or 4th down situations. I didn't like it a bit. I know on that last 4th and 1, It was like you would have begged the fans to get up. It was the biggest moment of the game. It made me sick at my stomach. I noticed it last year at the Liscomb game though. It was the same way. Early in the game we were still in it, and Cladwell broke one that put us on the board and tied it up, and the next defensive series it was like we weren't even in the stand.......Momentum is a thing that has a lot to do with the crowd. If you get a score, and then the D goes out on the field and the crowd has the opponents offense confused they can't hear, or they can hear you. It works. Emotions play a huge part and if the fans are in it the players will be to. DHS games have become a social event for the fans, THATS IT
  20. I don't see DC losing any focus on this one. Dc is playing their best football and it will tough for them to be stopped by anybody right now. They have seemed to hit stride right at the right time. I know that last year the semis where in Dyersburg, but I don't know how the would end up back in the west given last year. They did change alot of the things that were going on in the region, given that Given we were on the road last year for crockett, and this year we were on the road for Crockett again so....It would be cool to see it back in the west given how good of a chance we have this year for it to be in this County. We do need to keep an eye on Memphis and 83A becuz any team from Memphis can be deadly, and in week one of the playoffs we might be finding ourselves on the short end. There are no reasons to look to the past, lets get our teams ready and make some noise in the playoffs. Understand that if Dyersburg gets hot we could have one heck of a playoff.....I would love to see last night's atomsphere in the playoffs. Good luck to the Chocs, Understand a loss to Crockett isn't the worst thing that could happen given you have more games or game to come but if you win you take out a that could haunt you later.......Good Luck Chocs...
  21. Congrats to DC, a great win and a region crown. Very nice. You guys definetly deserved it. Nobody had just an amazing game other then Hunter, but in the context of team you put forth a major effort and a great win. Yeah I am hurting today, but I will patch my heart and be ready to cheer on the Trojans next week. I have said in every post I have put up about the Chocs in all your other games that I had respect for you guys and I was jaw jacking becuz it was a rival game and next week I would be back on the wagon cheering for you. Good job and good luck in the playoffs. It would be great for a rematch in the playoffs, but I doubt it happens. If DHS pplays anything like they have the past 4 wks, it won't matter how DC plays cuz we won't get there. But we can all hope. The question is how will this team respond to a loss. I didn't like to hear that they were pointing fingers in the locker room and it got so heated that Caldwell could have possibly quit the team. I don't think it went that far, and according to the sports editor it didn't. I guess we will see. What these kids need to do is just inderstand that they got beat stop pointing fingers and figure out how to fix it. Don't blame your teammate, keep the blame to yourself and get stronger as a team and be accountable for you actoiins. Learn from maybe not a more talented group but definetly a better team in DC. I wouldn't have thought in week 9 that our offense would be playing so badly. I know they scored 21, but they should score 40 on anybody. Thats the type of offense the had going into the season, and in the jamboreee, but as the season has gone by they have found ways to kill drives, and stop scores. They can't seeem to figure out how to cut out the mistakes, and there where times last night that they just looked confused. I said that if Dyersburg didn't get it this week they wouldn't get it at all. Well we will see how they resond to a loss, but if you wanna see a team that could contend for a state title you have a better chance if you look up to the county school right now. Not to say you have got to that level becuz it is a major diference between good and state title so we'll see, but Dyersburg hasn't been there all year, and I don't know if they will get there. They do have that potential they just have to use it.
  22. All this is getting out of hand majorly. Its football people. If you life is based on reminding these kids how childish it is to talk trash on here, or protecting you son from geting bashed becuz he is an amazing athlete and is goin to be in the spotlight, or jumping on somebody for talking trash and telling them that they are less of a Trojan fan becuz of it. Thats sick....Guys if we can't argue football what can we argue about. Football gets everybody fired up and ready to go, but this game does mean something to more then just the old guys that get to live their lives over watching the game. This one runs deep for everyone, this morning I stepped out side and saw a group of people that I had never talked to before a day in my life and they were painting their car orange. Automatically it was a shared respect for whats goin on in the county tonight. Come on there are more important things then football, and if your life is so pathetic that you take offense to what some on says on a online blog site, that means noting after the lights turn off friday night then don't even bother to post. Next week we will be talking Covington, and you will be talking Crockett, and we will be hoping for the best in the playoffs for both teams. Some of the people in this town need to get off the high horse and calm the heck down. This one is big, probably the biggest game you will ever see in this series, but that is it just a football game. I'm a huge fan of all sports , but its close minded people on this site that make me sick to be a fan. Get used to trash talking its part of the game. There are goin to be time in the game tonight when on player hits another and says something. Thats part of the game............Lets go our and slay the Choctaws ,,,,,Go Trojans..
  23. Ain't no body underestimating nobady. We are ready for you Choctaws, and if you think your more fired up , you got another thing coming. We know how far winning a regoin title will go, and we are going to get it done. I thinik DC might be underestimating the Trojans, Like if they put their everything into it they will automatically win this one. I have heard that the past six years, friends of mine telling me this is the year we upset Dyersburg and each year going home broken hearted. When you come to J.C Sawyers Staduim and you hear those Boss Hoss engines firing up, you can gurantee a football game, and more then that a fight. This is our house and we are in the business of proteceting it. If you don't believe it look at our home record the past ten years. I am sick of hearing how much heart and desire the choctaws have......When you come to J.C Sawyers Staduim you get a fight, and you won't want it more then us...........................Trojan pride ,,,,,,,,,,,Together we attack......Go Trojans.......It don't matter who's eyes you look in, you evidently haven't been anywhere near the Trojans , cuz they are on a mission and won't let that team 9 miles down the road get in the way..
  24. I do remember 01, I remember that game well. Then it was a non region game between two teams in week 1. A game that meant nothing. The Trojans weren't as good, or as highly renked then either. Neirther were those Choctaws. Dyersburg ended up having like a 5-5 year or something close to it. They definethly didnt go 9-1 and run through the playoffs. If DC wins this game, IT WON"T BE BECUASE THEY HAVE MORE HEART. And I say that in confidence. If you can't bring any emotion or feelings to this game you don't need to step on the field. this is the game to wanna play in. The emotion and the heart will be there for both teams the minute they slide the shoulder pads on , and the first slap or the helmet. So the game really comes down to one thing. It will either be because one team it flat out better, and you see it be who is getting dominated, or it will come down to who makes the most mistakes or gets that one play...... If one team shows a evident display or more emotion or more heart, then the other team shouldn't be on the field. I knkow that if it happens it will probably be the Trojans becuz the choctaws have shown heart all year. This one gets no bigger, this is why you play the game of football. The Trojans willl be ready. In which case you will have to out play us and I don't think you good enough to do that.........Lets go Trojans! 4 quarters of Trojan Football. ..Lets show these choctaws where football is played in this county. Lets stop talking heart, cuz we will be ready and fired up to.
  25. They're is only one question to ask about this game. Its not about defensive schemes or can Dyersburg stop the pass, or how many yards will Caldwell have. There is only one questoin. What Dyersburg team will we get this week/ I think that if DC wins this is a much bigger upset then people can imagine. Its a game for the ages. One that I wouldn't miss for the world, but it also is a game with a team that should and still could contend for a state title this year. Thats it though, nobody can seem to predict when the Trojans will play like the Trojans. One Quarter here, another Quarter here. Its almost getting sick to watch the Trojans have numerous big plays called back, stupid turnovers, and drive ending penalites. It makes no sense, but the questions end this week. The Trojans can't look other this game. If they can't get fired up, and they can't realize what has to be done with a game of this magnitude in front of them, they never will. I think this is the one week that you leave the stadium so excited about the playoffs that you can't stand it. It gets no bigger then this week and for that reason the Trojans put 4 quarters together and flat out roll. I think we are looking at a 48-14 game . But, if Dyersburg makes the miscues that they have been cutting down on. If they play flat without any emotion, it could be a lot closer then it should be, and if so you might as well pack it in. Because we will have another David Liscomb blow out like last year. If they can't get up for this one, They won't get it done this year.
