  1. Region 6 is not as strong as Region 7. Now i will say that South Side will always bring it because it is a tradition rich program but I am just saying, IF my CAVS had your schedule i think we would be undefeated right now. We were picked to be next to last in our Region and now we are pretty much a shoe in for the play offs. Our region is very unpredictable because there are so many teams that could be a potential front runner.......every year in region six tho.... SS wins region and the rest really doesnt matter because no other teams challenge you. Should be a great game, this rivalry still is not dead. you guys have won the last three meetings......I think its time for a change! CC wins 35-21! Go Cavs
  2. Eatin a little crow today eh? Good Game Crockett. Good luck with the rest of the season for the Tigers!
  3. Last game i will be able to make it to unless my Cavs go to Quarter finals. We need a win here to help seal a playoff spot both teams have appeared to be pretty solid. I'm taking Crockett because Crockett has been undefeated against Ripley since region 7-3A reclassification (2005 - CC 21 R - 0, 2006 - CC - 35 R - 7, 2007 CC - 31, R - 0). The Cavs don't just win against Ripley they dominate. Every year Ripley is supposed to beat Crockett but Crockett usually comes to play. Hopefully the trend will continue. Go Crockett
  4. Agreed. The Dawgs always seem to win. Even if they dont have the best athletes they still find there way to win. When they do have the all star athletes....well that is when they put up those special seasons. For Milan every year that there isnt a championship of some kind ,whether it be the gold ball or the region crown, it is considered a failed season. When a program gets to these expectations, then it truly does have a Legacy.
  5. My Cavaliers were beat up on last year and for the first time in 10 years they did not make the playoffs. But we were still not a team that you just came in a beat. Westview will not be one of those teams no matter who they field. I remember when we played them the year after they were 2-8 in the season opener (2004). We went in there and they shocked us in the first half and we were losing at half time. We came back to win but it was by the skin of our teeth. so Henry County better remained focused. I believe all the hype about them especially with what they showed me last year. I think it is their year but they MUST take it one week at a time. Milan = Tradition
  6. I'll take Mckenzie. I have seen both teams play Crockett in scrimmages before the season started. Mckenzie's "O" looks superb as usual and Peabody looks down a step or three from last year. Never say never but i think thats a little too cliche. REBELS REBELS REBELS
  7. Game of the YEAR, Region Champion on the line! I say Westview but not by 21! These two teams are both very good and have played some great football. This is going to be one smash mouth game. The score WILL be close. Good luck to both teams and my the best one win. Westview by no more than 7
  8. Yea its early, but lets get it started already. Crockett County NEEDS this win to get in. The Cavaliers are not the same team that lost to Covington and Humbolt in the beginning of the season. Apart from the Haywood game the cavs have been one or two plays from beating alot of teams (e.g. Dyersburg's two big plays in the second half that gave them the win, the two point conversion v. South Side, and two close games at the beginning of the year with Covington and Humbolt). The Choctaws are Region Champs so what do they need? Crockett needs more, they need in. If they win they are in(and if im not mistaking even if Covington wins as well ,Crockett still gets in on number of victories.....Covington beat Crockett, Crockett beat Ripley, and Ripley beat Covington = Tie, so it goes to Number of victories) Crockett must come out and play the best ball they have all year!!! They have so much riding on this One game. *Just two years ago Livingston Academy (5-5) got into the playoffs in the Fourth Seed. They went on to beat Carter(9-1), Austin East (7-4),Knoxville Catholic (11-1), Notre Dame (13-0), and David Lipscomb (13-1) to be crowned 3A State Champs, so keep ur heads up boys there is still the possibility for a lot of football on the horizon.....THIS GAME COULD BE UR LAST!
  9. close game.......Crockett has improved greatly over the past few weeks and ripley has been solid. im gonna have to go with crockett county just because they have been through so much but have been coming along. ripley always puts up a good show in the regular season but fall short come playoff time.
  10. Illandis Smith who played Football at Crockett County from 2001-2005 died over the past weekend in a house fire. This is a tragic time for friends and family. I played with Illandis and was nothing short of impressed in the amount of heart and dedication that he gave in everything he did. He has always had my respect. He displayed his heart and determination to the fullest when he saved his little brother from the fire that took him. He woke up his little brother but by then the fire was so hott that it was burning him. He couldnt make it to the door but instead made it into the bathroom where he ran water to cool himself and as a means of protection from the scorching heat. The fire department took a bit too long to contain the flames. when they finally made it to Illandis he was nearly dead. He died on the way to the hospital. Illandis is a true inspiration to myself and should be for many others through his heroics. His display of courage is matched by few. Plz keep his friends and family in your prayers as they morn for their Loss.
  11. Just merely a week after Crockett fans and supporters got hit with bad news of Coach Andy Brady's stroke more bad news is on the horizon. Tonight (sunday) Crockett's starting QB Jake Whitby was in a car accident and had to be air lifted to a memphis hospital. From what people tell me he is in bad shape. This team has been hit with more obstacles this year and i hope they are able to rally around their loses and motivate them. Once again when we talk about football in comparison to someones life, football just seems meaningless. I would like you all to remember Coach Brady and Whitby in your prayers. They both really NEED them bad.
  12. I just want everyone know that coach brady has left the hospital and i at home now. I know that he isnt thru with the recovery process but at least we know that he has been checked out okay medically. I still doubt he will be absent from both teaching and football for a while but that is not the important thing. the important thing is that he is okay. I hope for a speedy recovery. Prayers and best wishes from an former player.
