  1. Westview Milan Trenton Peabody JCS Humboldt USJ Gibson County Dresden Westview returns a great core group. Defensively, they will be as good or better than last year. Justin Burlison (2007 all region) will lead the defensive line. Harrison Moore (2007 all region) will return as QB, with Zach Gregory leading the offense line. They were underrated last year and had a great year. Milan has some major spots to fill, but will definitely fill them. They again will be a strong team. Trenton Peabody had a good season last year, and will keep building on their past success. JCS is the defending 1A state champs. Humboldt lost a lot of key players and will begin a rebuilding campaign. USJ and Gibson County might be surprises, but I don't think so. Dresden lost big key players and will lack the talent.
  2. Does anyone know where you can see the nominations or find out the results?
  3. Lineman are the unsung heros. Travis Edwards (DE) and Justin Burlison (DT) from Westview
  4. Adrian Donald (Humboldt) Chris Donald (Huntingdon) Lydale Wells (Milan) Matt Vallee (Dresden)
  5. Who are the 7 2A favorites for all region? Let's hear what you think.
  6. I don't know that we will have "big play makers", if you're referring to the Markei Guys of the world. Those are few and far between. However, we have a good experienced group returning, and there were sophomores who got a little experience this year. We didn't really have the big play makers this year, and still managed to make the playoffs.
  7. Our qb is a junior this year, Harrison Moore. Other juniors who will be returning as seniors are Justin Burlison, defensive line; Buddy Legens who had 7 interceptions this year; Tyler Turner, receiver; Cody Nanney, fullback; Eric West, running back who was injured most of the season; Zach Gregory, offensive line; J.C. Griggs, sophomore. Those are the core players. Good group of sophomores moving up. I look forward to a great year again in 7 2A next year.
  8. Good luck to both teams. I'm a Westview fan, and our game against Humboldt was awesome down to the batted down ball on the 2 point conversion. What a game. We did shut Humboldt down the first 3 quarters, but they finally got it together and made the big plays needed to win the ballgame. Congrats to the Vikings. They never stopped playing. Westview struggled on offense all year, was not picked to win many games, much less make it two deep into the playoffs. Congrats to them for showing everyone they could. Any team can win on any given night, and I think that Friday night will be a very close contest. It will come down to controlling the ball and minimizing mistakes.
  9. No different than the bogus call that gave Humboldt a td against Westview in their first meeting. Regardless, that's over. Westview wins by 10.
  10. Good luck Milan. I'm sure ya'll will pull this one out big.
  11. Westview by 21. The defense will do their job. What a team they would be if the offense was as good. Hopefully they will step it up and make some big plays.
  12. Congrats to Milan for the win. Congrats to Westview for holding Milan to 7 points. No one else was able to do that. Westview's D-line has been great all year. Who's the "hoss" DT for Westview? Good luck this week to all the Region 7 teams. What a great season for all of them. Region 7 is much like the SEC. All good teams!
  13. I predict all Region 7 teams to win. So Humboldt will play Martin next week and Milan will play Trenton.
  14. Congrats to both teams, as they are both in the playoffs regardless of the outcome.
  15. Milan will most likely make the playoffs. The other three slots will be Westview, Humboldt and Peabody!
  16. Yes, they are! Westview will win by 14
  17. This region is still wide open at this point as to who makes the playoffs. As a Westview fan, I'm sorry for Milan, who is one of our biggest rivals. The teams that benefitted from this really weren't a major concern for playoff spots anyway. It has actually made it tougher now for the teams that were originally vying for the 2, 3 and 4 spot. Milan will still be in the top four without a doubt. What's done is done.
  18. Westview's front four (Stigall, Edwards, Cruse and Burlison) will show USJ what a D-line can do.
  19. Unfortunately, this happens more than people realize. However, as one person mentioned, it's only if you get caught. Shame on those who have nothing better to do than try to get someone else in trouble. Instead of trying to take another team down, these people should be working on building their own team up. I'm not from Jackson or Milan, but it seems obvious that someone from USJ obviously wasn't over the fact that Milan beat USJ. I'm sorry, but Milan would've won their games with or without this kid playing. Look at their scores, they speak for themselves. And also, last time I checked, there are 11 kids on the field, not 1. I'm sure this kid made contributions to the team, but I don't think he was the only reason they won their games. However, if the ruling means Milan has to forfeit their games, I think you will still see Milan in the playoffs, and USJ wishing they were.
  20. No one thought Westview would beat Milan or Huntingdon last year and they beat both. Westview's defense has proven themselves. Westview beat Hungtindon all over the field, but when you have to play the referees and the team, it makes it toughter to win on the scoreboard. They definitely have a tought schedule remaining, but they will make the playoffs. Huntdingdon may not even make the playoffs. They have not made a strong showing yet. Westview's toughest game will be against Milan, and you never know what will happen!
  21. I saw pics of the painted lion. They did a very good job painting it.
