  1. You jest might want to check with great gran pappy about that Price man in the Jasper Hall of Fame. Les Price was a very good player for the Warriors in the sixties with probably one of the most physical teams to ever wear the purple. Best OP can remember the 3 you mentioned ain't hanging in the Hall!
  2. Old Pirate's top 3 QB list: 1. Terrell Robinson 2. Perry Hutchins 3. Chris Ferrell Old Pirate's top 3 passers 1. Terrell Robinson 2. Jimmy Wigfall 3. Chris Ferrell Old Pirate's top 3 duel threats 1. Terrell Robinson 2. Jimmy Wigfall 3. Tim Starkey
  3. Both played TB some as well, well remember both as good punters!
  4. LOPAO.....Old Pirate says the New Years celebration lasted too long for you youngun....Gibson as in Dale was a TB as well as Allison as in Mark. C. Ferrel would be the 1st traditional QB for the Pirates. Starkey was a talent but couldn't read the option and Perry Hutchins was much better overall.
  5. Dad burnit Truth, Old Pirate says SP ain't like the average program. Coaching searches to replace highly successful coaches brings more uncertainty than excitement. Jasper was excited after falling on hard times to find a savior but following successful tenures a new coaching search brings the unknown! Sure hope the new SP coach is named soon!
  6. Both teams have had their share of great teams and appears these two feuding communities love to talk futeball. One only has to visit the Hall of Fame of each school to find some notiable names. Old Pirate says the Warriors hold an advantage of former players in the NFL with E. Brown & E. Westmoreland with the Pirates having E. Moore. However the QB position has produced some good players for each with Westmoreland & Moore each having played the position while playing for their home town schools. Question here is who would be considered the best QB to play for each proud program?
  7. Old Pirate ain't falling for any of them fellers replacing coach Vic. #1 Jones make way too much money coaching up yonder in Canada, #2 Moore most likely would have to take a pay cut and #3 H. Grider according to rumors ain't interested. OP like most folkes would love to see an official list of the top 5-6. BTW cousin Lester from SM says SD has spoken to coach Vic. Ole cuz swore to by his sources say it is true about a possible move! Anyhow, is anyone know jest who in tarnation is really going to do the hiring?
  8. OP says yea buddy, us fellers is talking some real rockem sockem futeball now! Trivia: Any of you SP younguns remember the basic pass plays? Awh yea, bout time Old Pirate played great gran pappy to some of you peach fuzz faced fellers!
  9. Sign him up, Roy , jest what does your Murphy say about this feller? Surely they's not many of them around...
  10. SP made the opposing DE's night miserable....that was when the Pirates were known for being real blockers & rarely, rarely ever were called for holding, unlike the teams of today that act like they's blocking their momas! OP says can you imagine what a response would be like for the crowd to know that the single wing was going to be ran & the fear......it would put in the eyes of the DEs..Figure opposing coaches would have a time trying to convince his DEs not to turn and run......LOPAO........Wow...
  11. Could you imagine the Single wing run this past year, 3 options for the snap, Stone, Johnson & Hale all three candidates with Lankford @ wingback & C Mitchell & M Blevins @ the ends....oh well would love to see some of that in every game, figure it could really get the old fellers blood a pumping foe sure!
  12. Now fellers....OP is surprised, can't remember when the Pirates last ran a successful 46 pass....not during the 90s,not during the 80s neither to best of this skillet heads memory. Pert near sure it was pre-Chris Ferrell days. The quickie right & the Attempt to pass were instrumental during coach Don's reign. Figure he remembered all too well the ole professor's belief about the bad vs the good in the pass game....LOPAO.....
  13. Gots to look over some of these younguns & their posts, they's jest posting what they's knows, which is most times limited. TT ain't had that great gran pappy some have had. Figure Old Pirate can help them fellers out and shed some vital facts. Thata way least they's been informed. Wow, dad burnit....OP being a great gran pappy to some Jasper fellers.....sounds a tad twisted but hey OP is happy to help properly educate some Jasper kin from time to time. BTW....... HAPPY NEW YEAR to all, even them OP haters.... LOPAO....!
  14. Old Pirate understands why you would gravitate toward the younger bb, point was to test you younguns with regards to several Jasper Hall of Fame players of back-n-the day. Most can only talk about the last 15-20 years. OP says the Warriors #1 guy should be E Westmoreland. E. Brown certainly out performed him in the professional ranks but the body of work by Westmoreland as a Warrior was nearly flawless. Folkes knew he was about to be the game changer on any given play.
  15. LOPAO......Go talk to a credible great gran pappy, them fellers had own field across the road on left about where Tri County Bank is now but but had higher elevation. Looks as you Jasper fellers was confused back then too. OP ole pal Dave Robinson was a star and a lot of players went to Stevenson after school burnt. Have you figured out QBs were not involved in topic?
  16. LOPAO......You......talking about someone getting life has as much credibility as a dying crack head talking about going to rehab...."None" Sorry you don't have one or a home thread to post on or a HEEP of fellers to talk about you home team... Now for the fellers that have an interest, The Warriors will be a 2 headed beast next year if Shoemaker & Zeman stay healthy similar to some successful past teams.
  17. Dad burnit Roy, what in tarnation is you answering a question Old Pirate asked fellers from Jasper? That is.........a bunch of mess. Now OP will have to ask them some different question. Sinse you like to answer question intended for them Jasper fellers, here is one you can answer. When did them Jasper fellers come down to SP & start recruiting some of them former SP McReynolds studs? Nope it weren't before Pearl Harbor......You see SP once had 4 schools within a 2 mile radius? Jasper had 3, Jasper Elementary, High School & The Marion County Institute-better as the Marion County Jail.....LOPAO.....Zzzzzzz, oh that hurts real...bad..OP ain't joking neither!
  18. Still hear rumors those folkes is moving back to SP?
  19. Yep, he is that... feller! Long blonde hair hanging out of his helmet. Ain't going to call name thou, us old fellers need a handicap, no need letting them younguns knows everything we knows. Trivia Question: Who was the Warriors 1st RB from McReynolds? The early sixties was a good time round the Valley....
  20. Well dad burnit Agent 98, Old Pirate is down right impressed! Most of these younguns don't have clue cept maybe the last 15-20 years. Pert near sure the younguns on coacht think them BB fellers played back in the Jim Thorpe era...LOPAO.....Yous is either an old feller or has a great granpappy who teached you well! OP is a fan of the old style players that would run you over, show respect to the opposition & help them up. While Barton was a good player but wouldn't put him the prominate catagory. HINT: The Warrior player tackled by the hair played under coach Dave. Other hints to follow ifin needed.....BTW....from your original post and the edited time, yous must have talked to great granpappy.......LOPAO......
  21. A feller asked Old Pirate the other day about a couple of turd knockers on coacht like Lancer-who has no home team worth a warm poot to talk about and Waterhead from SM that only has himself to play with too. Both WISH, PRAY,HOPE & DREAM Santa will someday help them out, but as your post proves he chose to skip you again........
  22. Old Pirate seen him while waiting on the skillet slinger at that Kennemore man's rehab house. Good to see him walking good!
  23. What.......PP is you joking... 350 lb bench press? OP ain't falling for that mess unless that youngun lives in the weight room, then the Jasper folkes need to make sure that Childress man has his correct resident address! OP says the best player for the Warriors was Shoemaker....period.
  24. Old Pirate being an old geezer knows a HEEP of Warrior RBs that are note worthy. OP wants to check out some of you so called Warrior fans' credibility. Trivia Questions: 1. What two former prominate players for the Warriors had initials BB, 2. What position did they excell at, 3. What Warrior RB was once tackled by an opposing player by grabbing a hand full of his long hair? LOPAO......yep you fellers have had some dandies.... BTW Ambassador, get off the Holy throne, you rapidly passed that Pueple Grad feller as the official coacht nusiance, OP ain't joking neither...
  25. Old Pirate says coach McCurry has got the Jasper folkes excited with the success the Warriors had in 2012. The Warrior's lack of team speed could be their stumbling block, but folkes knows team chemistry is more important than than speed.
