  1. Hey Volmman, you got any nephews or nieces at Cumberland Gap? I sure would like to get the down low on 'em and see if we have a fighting chance.
  2. I don't know. I'm waiting to hear from his uncle.
  3. Look here you little twit. You have no excuse other than you're on a very mediocre, at best, football team that just thought it was good. Total, complete beatdown. That's what it was. Just cry "uncle"...I'm sure that's what DB did.
  4. pershaps you should re-read my post....."I said shown interest in" not talked to...and last time i checked you can show interest in and yes even talk to younger players without it considered recruiting. The Greeneville football program is involved in city football at every level, from allowing the rec leagues use of our facilities to the players volunteering their time with the Boys and Girls club league. We have several of our young position coaches teaching at local elementary schools and interacting with these kids on a personal level. There's plenty that can be done to integrate these programs within the TSSAA guidelines...and if you have no problem with us being in the conference with WG, then why have you said "So I do believe and so do you that Greeneville does not belong in this conference"....and for the record, you should not presume to know what I think.....my 'ol man can't even do that! I have a problem with one of your coachs going to an 8th grade kids game that he has no affiliation with and talking to him about going to Greeneville. According to the TSSAA rule below it isn't allowed. 3. To avoid the appearance of impropriety, any meeting with coaches regarding athletes or prospective athletes should be a part of the admissions process at the school and should take place at the school. But, what if said coach is Dalton Boles uncle?
  5. Probably enough has been said about why Greeneville is in the classification/region they are in. Anyone who still wants to argue should go back and read Barb's post on pg. 20 again. I just don't think it can be put any clearer than that. But, if any of the county schools will offer up some pork chops and cornbread at the concessions, I'll be more than glad to contribute to their coffers on game night.
  6. Good luck to both sides. Just need an injury-free, fun night of football. Its not really half, just a handful that don't think.
  7. I'm getting so tired of the imposters. I'm Balton Dole's real uncle and my husband is his real aunt.
  8. I will be glad to make the bet that the Buffs cover your 49 point spread. Put your money where your keyboard is! 49 is way too many points considering the clock will not stop during the second half. Otherwise, 60 would be a fair line.
  9. I am Dalton Boles uncle and he just called me. Says he's not going to be able to play Friday night. He has transferred to Notre Dame.
  10. Thanks Comp, nice to get an unbiased assessment before Cap starts runnin' off at the mouth. We just don't have the stud QB as in years past....gonna have some of those. No excuses, the better team won last night. Comp and Barb both accurately summed it up. Barb is right on that we don't have the stud QB as in the past. We will do fine in region play, but Wes will have to become fearless before playoffs. To disagree with Comp, I'm not so sure he can get it there on the deep routes and I'm not so sure the "get what you pay for" regarding the turf is a valid statement. I've noticed the glare myself, but i'm quite sure the DB turf is not superior nor was it more expensive than G'ville's. The glare is a lighting issue. Good luck to SS and THS the rest of the way.
  11. Look rookie… I call it like I see it, and tell it like it is. Anything that I may say after a game that may seem like an excuse is more than likely a general consensus of the majority… most are just scared to put it out there like I do. Other than that… I give due where due is deserved! Like I said, there is one way to stop ALL excuses, and I think I mentioned it in one of my previous post. And that’s to LEAVE NO DOUBT!!! Kinda like SOUTH did to us last year. I’m very confident that the Vikings are going to do just that this year. Don’t get me wrong… I’m fully aware of the fact the on any given Friday night any team can fall. Perfect example THS vs Volunteer in the Falcons first ever win in school history over the Vikings… never should have happened in a million years, but it did. One more thing… I never made it an excuse that Keenan was injured after last years game… didn’t say a word about it. Go back and check. It wasn’t known by many that his injury was as bad as it was because Keenan never complains. With most teams in our conference last year it wouldn’t have made much difference… but you guys were at least two steps above our normal conference competition with the exception of SOUTH. It was no secret that he was our “work horse’ and the nucleus of our offense and its success… and we ended up playing you guys tight without him. That is part of the factor for my prediction for this year. You guys had a better team last year. I would personally say MUCH better, but I know the Greeneville faithful on the inside looking out would disagree. We almost won that game last year despite being down 14 to 21 points in the first half. We just couldn’t handle that STUD of a QB/RB/WR you had as your signal caller last year… and that was it. No other aspect of the Green Devils game really stood out IMO. This year we basically have the same team we had last year but much more improved. And we add Keenan, Matt P., Carlos H., and Orlando G. to the mix… which all Vikings know is BIG!! Not to mention the best O line IMO that I have seen in the Maroon and White in YEARS! The second half of the Greeneville game last year was Harmon’s day view as not only being a legit playmaker, but also a solid team leader for this team. Since that day his confidence continues to push his stats out the roof… because the skill level was always there. So to celebrate, we are looking at this game as his coming out party!! Nothing like full circle to bring out significants. I know this is not going to be a cake walk… but I insist that we simple have the better team this year, and by a couple of steps. That’s my story… and I’m stickin with it!!! You are hilarious, but you really don't care how credible your words are, do you? Most definitely you call it like "you" see it. You just don't bother to substantiate half of your spouting off. I think I remember you, though. Didn't you used to wrestle over at the tv station in Charlottesville? Yeah, I do remember you. You usually wore a mask and always grabbed the microphone from the ring-side announcer. Keep it up, dude. You are most definitely entertaining. Have a safe trip over tomorrow night.
  12. I could waist everybody's time and rebuke all of your ludicrous accusations. But I'll just leave it at this. I'll take time out of Washington to make it to the game, if you can get away from the Loony Tune Ranch in Texas. Maybe you could finally figure out if I'm foolin you once or foolin you twice. And then after the game we can go check out a couple of those O.G.B.Y.N's before they start givin all the LOOOVE out to the women throughout our great country. Don't get ME started on that!!! Yeah, I would say its very difficult to rebuke what you've already published on here. People can see it for themselves. Nice cop-out though. But, we do all appreciate you not wasting our time...
  13. Ok, so Cap jumps on Barb for "living in the past" yet all he can talk about is the '04 season. He says our coach will be using injuries as the excuse when THS beats us, yet he leans on his excuse of last year's injury of 1 player. By his own words in his post, Cap is even getting ready to play the referee card should Greeneville by some miracle pull this out. Cap says everyone knows THS will kill Greeneville, yet says we are in for a huge surprise and he wants to see the deer in the headlight look on our faces. Sounds like a lot of double talk to me. Cap, are you sure you can make it to the game? I figured you would be too busy to get away from Washington.
  14. I don't just pull for one I pull for all teams. I been to Greeneville games, I been to Jefferson County games, I been to West Greene games. I don't mean to make anyone mad, but from what I seen watching these team play. Greeneville beat Jeff that has really struggle this year. They beat South Greene which is on the rise but not up to greeneville standard. I think they will beat a West Greene team that is on the rise also. I'm gald to see you playing tough out conf. teams, but I think by playing the team in your conf. that is not up to your level will hurt you in the long run. I just get tried of hearing how good Greeneville is compared to the county schools. Everybody know that you are much better then the county teams. They just don't what to give your team all the hype. I mean West Greene has come along way and all everybody does is find a way to put Joe Case and his team down same at all the county school. I think a county with that many high school would cheer for ecah other when not playing each other. Very good statement. I agree with everything you said. I pull for all the county schools when playing someone besides the Devils. Even being a Greeneville fan, I really hope the county schools will continue to improve to the point that the region champ will come down to the last regular season game or two. Then, you know you have a strong conference and you are best prepared for the playoffs that way. With that said, its going to mean more than just coaches and athletes. It takes a commitment from all facets of the administration from top to bottom. I think the jury is still out on all the schools in Greene County, including GHS, whether or not they can compete at the state level. When so called "educators" try to play big-time politics, somebody is going to be left holding the bag. Peace, out.
  15. Hmmm. Not too concerned about my dog. He can defend himself pretty well. The way this thread is going now, I guess I better lock my sheep up in the barn, though.
  16. First, the term "drop down" doesn't apply. Greeneville played up for the past what? 25 years? Second, they are now playing in their assigned class according to enrollment size. Third, had TSSAA not changed the way they classify schools, Greeneville would still be playing 4A. Had they chosen to continue playing "up", they would be playing schools like Riverdale, Oakland, Germantown, etc. So, all of you whiners can stop that stuff now. Hey Barb, wanna go catch the JV game tonight. I haven't seen 'em yet, but I'm headed out the door now. I heard they have 4 or 5 on JV that can flat out play football.
  17. We'll see about one and done. By the way, how's the weather out at Camp Creek today?
  18. I believe Barb can say that because she's seen enough football in her time to know there's a lot of season left before the playoffs. Oh yeah, she's probably seen a lot bigger things happen than SG beating Elizabethton, too. I think i have seen enough football as well because i have watched it 32 yrs.We all know greeneville is the best thing since sliced butter.I am through arguing with you greeneville fans because you are always right and seem to know the outcome of every game.Good luck the rest of the year lawnman is gone. I doubt very seriously you are through arguing. Good luck the rest of the season. See ya down the road.
  19. yep that about sums it up...Greeneville had 7 TD's in the first half. Our D wreaked havoc on Susong. Either rattled it loose or forced a bad pass. As good as he is, he cannot function well without protection. HOWEVER....South's D was non-existant in the first half...Greeneville had no problems capitalizing on the opportunities provided by their awesome D...I see South in the 3a play-offs but I don't know how they fare against Betsy....I believe i know how they would fare. Not to good. Barb how can say you don't know how they would fare when we allowed greeneville offence nothing and greeneville scored 56 in one half on south greene.I just have one thing to say I believe Barb can say that because she's seen enough football in her time to know there's a lot of season left before the playoffs. Oh yeah, she's probably seen a lot bigger things happen than SG beating Elizabethton, too.
  20. Now for my daily prayer: Lord, thank you for all the blessings you have bestowed upon us all, forgive us all of our sins. I ask you for an injury free night of Friday football. Oh yeah, and comfort the Rebels as they prepare for the biggest beatdown they've endured in awhile. Amen
  21. Oh yeah, forgot to post my prediction. I will say Greeneville 24-3 at half.
  22. Wow! I didn't realize USC and Bama made offers to sophomores. And, when did Carson-Newman start giving full rides?
  23. Looking for an exciting, fast, fun, and physical game here. I just heard there will be no band at halftime. Instead, 50 fans (25 from each side) will be given microphones and allowed on the field to scream, yell, and insult each other. Yep, this is true. Both administrations figured this way would cut down on CoachT activity after the game and throughout the weekend.
  24. What? GHS is not God's gift to Greene County? Well, someone lied to me then. And, by the way, I donated the money, not Niswonger.
  25. I'm glad TSSAA doesn't deduct points in the game for fans making an idiot of themselves on the message boards. If they did, both teams in this game would have negative numbers.
