Yeah Barb, I think the 2-QB system was even a strategic option until about halfway through the regular season. It just becomes too obvious and makes defensive coordinator's job a little simpler, especially going into the playoffs. So, I think it was a sound decision to choose one and stay with it. I agree with you on Troy. I'm also going to take this opportunity to praise "someone" who seldom gets named. I say "someone", but I mean the entire offensive line. Not naming them individually because they play as a unified unit and there's actually 6 or 7 that deserve far more mention than they've received, but that's the life of an offensive lineman and I hope they know their significance.

Actually Stewart IS a better passer, probably a better QB overall, and I'm not crazy. I didn't say better sprinter. Also, I would imagine he's more concerned with 2 more years of high school before making any conclusions about his college future. I see Greeneville making another run next season, but with a slightly different look, thus making them even harder to prepare for. Go Devils!

And on a lighter note, even if you're not a football fan, Burley will be the place to be Friday night. Kenny Chesney and The Band Perry will be performing the half-time show. Not sure if that will compare to the can making demonstration in Blount County, but should be good, nonetheless.

This is actually becoming hilarious. All season long, people come on coacht and state Greeneville has nothing, they don't play anybody, wait 'til the playoffs, one and done, etc, etc, etc. Now they're going to the quarters and the naysayers are saying there has been no post season competition either. So, when Greeneville wins state, what are you going to say then? Maybe there should just be no 4A playoffs, huh? I'm sure Golddork will chime in with something. By the way, I don't think Barb said it was already built and finished (no pun intended). She said ,"build it". This program has been under construction for the past 5 years and continues to improve. It all happened so quick, I can't say if Rel got hosed or not. Unforunately, whether or not he started it is irrelevant in that situation. But it is a big hole to fill for the next game. With that said, I'm confident Gavin or whoever will fill it well and Greeneville will march on. I am a little surprised that the Fulton folks aren't already on here with their side of it. It is dangerous to type and drive though, that's a fact.

Hats off to a good WG football team that never quit last night. A lot of heart on that field and they left nothing on the table. I know what the scoreboard said, but that's not a true indication of the game I saw.

Fact: I'm in my early 40's. Fact: I won't live long enough to see this subject go away. Fact: If Greeneville could play up to 6A, There would be people trying to form 7 classes just to say Geeneville is playing down. I would say that all depends on how far into the playoffs the Devils reach. Let's face it. There are all-state caliber players all over the state that often times are not picked if their team does'nt perform in the playoffs. On the flip-side, if Greeneville gets picked off in the 1st or 2nd round last year, probably nobody makes it. (And that is not a knock against the 3 that made it. They were awarded the honor and deservingly so). So, to answer the question? I say potentially 4-6 1st teamers. However, a football does not take true bounces all the time and all this talk about undefeated state champs, all-staters, etc. Well, we just have to hope more of those bounces go our way than the other way, just like they did last year. Go Devils!

Barb, it was all Greeneville. 3 td's and if I remember correctly 3 2pt conversions. I didn't have my calculator with me, but it looked like West did manage to tally about 19 total yards offense.

Would it be safe to say from top to bottom, this may be the fastest and quickest Greeneville team ever? I'm having difficulty figuring out if we are really as good as it appeared or if West sucks as bad as we made them appear.

I've heard the rumor more than once that the Rebels may have a transfer coming in that can play. Anyone else hear that?

RyanD22, are you sure about that 1400 off. yards? I heard he played for a school that ran a 10-man offense and that he had over 9,000 total yards himself. I've seen him play bb, I've seen him sprint. I've never seen him in football pads, but I keep hearing how he's going to be the greatest the Greeneville gridiron has ever seen. I guess we will all know come August...that is, if he's in a Devil uniform. I'm just sayin...
