  1. Spoke to one of my lawyer clients today and asked what he would do in SM's position. In his opinion, were he an SM lawyer, would to obfuscate every little detail and fight as hard as he could to deflect parent's anger from SM's administration to TSSAA, to protect his clients from parental lawsuits. I thought that very interesting and pretty much par for the course - in layman's terms, if you are on fire (in trouble), start a bigger one somewhere else. FWIW
  2. Midfieldish? It was after the attempted onside kick and they were attempting to cause a fumble before our QB could take a knee. Probably legal, but cheesy as a high school play call. Doesn't matter, we won, new week - new opponent. Go Cats!
  3. Banjos won't be the last thing you hear.... more like potato-potato-potato.... cammed 72" of pure raw mowing power......
  4. Not exactly true - we did not go over the wanton destruction of Coach Davis' field in minute detail - how many square feet, was it really Kentucky Bluegrass, blah blah blah lol - we'll know the answer to that in a week - if we can hold him back. Count your blessings Coach Davis is a mild-mannered man who never ever gets excited right away. Carry on!
  5. Thank God! I was really worried about ya'll. Hopefully he hasn't left yet... Go CATS!
  6. Signal Mountain? TSSAA might be the least of your worries... Know those fire extinguisher/smoke thingies that ya'll use for your grand entrance? You KILLED Coach Davis' grass in the end zone! He loves his field more than life itself... You hear the sound of a souped-up riding mower on the mountain, late, late, on a foggy night... RUN! it might not be too late...
  7. Sorry about that - it was explained to me that the kaka timeout before halftime was made because "Coach Price wanted more time to talk to refs". He talked and talked to them before the game too - thus another BS excuse. That's all. There were six to eight horse-collars committed by SM during the game, nobody saw those either lol. Never seen any coach talk as much as Coach Price did with the refs - especially after Coach Davis left to join the PC team - just things that make you go "hmmm". Good luck with all the fallout from TSSAA - somehow I don't think they/the parents/the lawyers are finished - but I do wish you luck. Go CATS!
  8. There is a distinction though, if my friend is being being stupid, I tell him/her whether they like it or not. Still my friends, but I don't defend them when they know they are wrong. I watched Coach Price carefully - he did quite a bit of talking to the refs before the game - commented to my wife, "whats he up to?"... heard his rep, wondered what we would see in-game.
  9. That was classic Coach Richard Cranium - he has coached many teams under many different names - last place he coached was McMinn Central as Derrick... and we never booed Central, but they never pulled anything like that halftime call. The boys were very unhappy to be called back from the locker room just for dicketry. Especially since our announcers gave ya'll your due, the 6-1 Signal Mountain Eagles, and made no corrections when ya'll expected it. When we met under the scoreboard, I asked you WTF was that about? You didn't know at that time. You know, we know, and everybody else knows. Call it for what it was, man. Standing by your coach is one thing, but be honest, your coach does things that does not reflect well on your program and that's why the hard feelings from people here and elsewhere. IMO
  10. "I miiisintreprated the rulez" <apology: I am going to heck for that... the geek said "I GOT THIS!". Sorry guys...</apology>
  11. What? Send 'em to Whitehouse! I like Whitehouse - good people.
  12. Had an interesting thought - everyone knows how lawyers are - I'm thinking somebody from SM, with a kid on the team, sues the bejesus out of the admin for 'poorly made decisions that adversely affected such-and-such child's college career" - real or imagined. Bets?
  13. LMAO! That's about the size of the situation... I thinking we'll see that later this year at the TSSAA Playoff Parade.
  14. Wait a minute... Punish the children for the sins of the father? How very Romanesque! I'm sure every kid, on every team, can pass a pop-quiz on TSSAA rules and regulations. Wow. Folks can't even agree what the rules mean here...
  15. Off Topic.... Seen a Southpark episode where Cartman goes to the inner city to teach gangbangers and whatnot, Taught them the "White People Method", which included repeating "I Misinterpreted the Rules" if caught cheating. Beell Bellachek said to the team "This one time, we weeel not cheet!" and you know what happened? They Lost. On Topic.... When I read this, that episode was the first thing that ran through my mind. I'm sorry. The forms Coach Davis and I had to fill out for our move from Etowah to Reliance - from McMinn Central to Polk County, where my oldest boy Cody played for Coach Derrick his sophomore year was ridiculous. Also had to make sure he was out of the Central locker room before the last day of school. Just saying.
  16. Promised myself I would stay away from this.... didn't work. Howeva, I am not piling on. Ban the coach from TSSAA - always work in GA, fire the AD, fire the principal, fine the booster club - whatever you want... Don't take it out on the kids - especially #3. It wasn't THEIR fault, it was the failure of the administration and a coach who should know better. The kids should keep their wins and play without their coach and let #3 finish the season. The adults screwed up, didn't do their due diligence, and now their kids pay for it. I don't like it, I don't like it at all. If there were set in stone punishments for violating TSSAA rules, stuff like this wouldn't happen. IMHO I don't have a dog in this hunt - I apologize in advance if I step on any toes. Dennis GO CATS!
  17. Awake again and have a sore throat - politics aside, what was your stand-out plays in a stand-out game? For me it was SM's first quarterback draw - executed freaking perfectly. Saw Polk's guards go flying in and the SM QB flying out right up the middle. Was an 'Oh Crap' moment lol. The other was the Cup Check - idk which Polk player it was, but SM's QB had been burning us on that two step drop and throw down to the sideline to #7 and early in the 4th, same play was made and the PC guy was there, sailed through #7's hands and our guy wrapped him up with a helmet to the balls - Cup Check made, Cup Check failed. Epic. Most Embarrassing Moment? Wife and I were meeting with Mtn Troll, APB, and BCsportsfan under the scoreboard at halftime - hear over PA system our names and the fact our littletornado 8 year old girl-like object was at the front gate looking for us - we weren't at our seats "Like we're supposed to be" when she comes calling from her many busy game activities.... little butthead.
  18. meh, IF the Wildcats look over ANYBODY, there's going to be chance to lose - Don't take it for granted. If things go our way, the reserves get to play - which is a good thing, ya know? Didn't SM just do this to us? Alllll last week? It didn't work out well for them, did it? Who does Sequoya have? Record? (can't be bothered to look, I'm tired). GO CATS!
  19. I would like to see this ip log - I do this kind of stuff for a living. Let it go, man. We got them. Go CATS!
  20. Seriously? I could have frisked them and got id I guess...
