  1. I was proud of the effort Courtney gave in the finals. It was like seeing an icon go down. I think it is symbolic of everyone on this thread who tried to bring Coffee down when I saw him go down at state. I don't know about you but I'm done hearing about the negatives on this kid. I hope to hear good things that have come out of this situation and year. I hope to hear Courtney Coffee has learned something and he takes the higher road to success. God bless you Courtney!
  2. I am sad to say but bororef has hit the nail on the head. The tree is the problem.
  3. Region 6 results are not posted yet. How did Franklin fair as a team and individually?
  4. I hope Abrigo is alright and ready to go. I really think he will be out of shape if he can come back. I heard he tore his ACL. Which if that is true he is out for the year.
  5. What ever happened to Morgan Abrigo? Is he all washed up?
  6. Like I said in a previous Coffee thread, alot of kids these days need a lesson in character. A FIRST CLASS tournament and then a black I because some kids are thiefs. If any coach sees any wrestler wearing another schools gear they need to secure it and discipline the kid.
  7. I agree. He could take a lesson from the 27 other wrestlers in the finals. He appears to wrestle with more attitude than heart. At least that is the way it appeared yesterday. (He did have a nice throw in the closing seconds on the edge of the mat) I repeat...on the edge of the mat.
  8. Is there a web site for smyrna where we can see the brackets and results?
  9. Simpson has dropped to 125 will he drop to 130?
  10. Congratulations to Tom. He must be a proud dad. I can't believe I didn't get the connection. There was mention of a younger Marable. What grade is he in?
  11. Where did Marable Wrestle in high school? Is he on the same team as the Askrens?
  12. Will Felix and Wright pair up this time?
  13. So you did this all by yourself? Coaches can learn and they do normally work at it. My point is that with out the support structure most will drown. If we want to be competive across the entire state we need to support one another as well. Market the sport and build it up.
  14. I believe asking for better coaches is the same as asking for better wrestlers. I think we should really organize as a state and partner with the TSSAA market the sport in the schools from elementry up. Create a history and mentorship for the younger kids. Create an outstanding support structure that transcends schools for the health and welfare for each others programs. Parents, Athletes, Coaches, and the school system need to support one another. Make them proud of their programs. I see programs dying everyday. What does it take to keep them alive and healthy? I know as a coach " Doing it for the kids" only goes so far when your on your own.
  15. Congratulations to Ford (RAV) I guess he proved he has made that much head way. Must have busted his hump in the off season. Great Job!
  16. Maybe Forrest should enter this tournament. There is going to be some good wrestling. I predict Josh Proctor to take 125 unless Ford has really stepped it up since last year. Danny Pappas will take Cash if he wrestles in the center of the mat. If he let's Cash wrestle on the edge of the mat it will cost him. Watch out for the ankle pick.
  17. Since when don't you want to upset anybody?
  18. I definetly agree with a substate. It would open up the regional qualifiers and compensate for weaker and stronger regions making the state tournament more balanced. There are probably a number of kids who do not belong at state and a number who do but can't qualify out of an extremely tough region in a particular weight class.
  19. What happened to the Forrest Invitational? Half these teams were there last year. Now it says cancelled on Fiscus Matcontrol.
  20. Hamm, We appreciate your efforts and we know that you are trying to get them right. What some people do not realize is that do not have a crystal ball and it is up to the coaches to provide you with results. Keep on trucking. Don't let a few misguided individuals tarnish our appreciation for what you are trying to do.
  21. Didn't BA have a 112 pounder who was the coaches son win last year at 119? Is he not wrestling for BA this year or did he not place?
