  1. Thanks for proving my point. You just exemplify the values of the afore mentioned Ravenwood fans. Those people have been sitting there for years, they wanted a better view, even if it means sitting on the away side. If you don't want to sit next to them, get there early and bring more fans.
  2. Hats off to the Ravenwood players, a well earned victory. We simply got outcoached again, which was already mentioned. I would go in depth for analysis, but I am tired. Bottomline, is Gallatin's offensive was never opened up like they were capable. GHS didn't try to utilize their speed, no sweeps or outside QB keepers till 2nd half. No screen passes until 8 mins. left in the game. I stood there until the bitter end, bitter indeed. I was really disappointed at how classless the posts have become, and the actions of the RHS fans. They spoke of our inability to be gracious hosts, but the actions during and after the game spoke volumes about your fans, as well. Good luck to the Region 5 teams left. The what-if's remain concerning "if J.T. would have played", but it still wouldn't have compensated for our poor offensive plan and lack of adjustments. I still love the Green Wave, we just need to get it together.
  3. There is a fine place for the upper class, suburbanites. It is called the Hideaway, it is located on S. Water, just tell 'em you work for the sheriff's department to receive your discount.
  4. Yes they Oak Ridge 1991 team was very good. I was a member of the embarassed team. Dickson Co. was AWESOME with Jeff Vaughn. We beat that Lincoln Co. team in a spring scrimmage before they went on to win that title. Our QB, Clinic Bowl MVP a few months before that, tore his ACL, and we limped to a 10-2 record that fall. Great thread guys, keep rolling. Still pondering my all timers.
  5. Thanks wave 88, I was gone to college those years and didn't really follow what was happening in HS athletics as much. Too much booze those years, probably just forgot they won.
  6. Guys I have bad news, J.T. Ferrell is out for the season. Heard it from the most reliable source. Apparrently they tried to let the lung heal without season ending surgery, but the lung has not responded. Please pray for J.T., for a full recovery. We all know as sports nuts, that this must be truly devastating to a senior that means so much to this team. Also found out that Beech has dropped Gallatin fro the schedule, WOO HOO. Maybe Lil' Bro @ Station Camp will get their matchup.
  7. Yeah, Gallatin has more titles than, Ravenwood, Brentwood, and Franklin combined, while playing in the highest classification. Next
  8. No. Out al least this week, maybe longer. Still has to get medical clearance. Get well J.T.
  9. Can you tell Calvin Short has been working with those young guys? They have really developed some youg talent.
  10. I am sure you didn't give us any credit for playing Wilson Centeral last year, when they were running through their schedule. We can't help it if they had a down year. Yeah Beech is bad but we have had them scheduled since 1981. They were in our district until the region system put them in 4A for most of that time. We didn't pick 'em as a patsy, it is a geographical thing(15 minutes from GHS), once again, another up and down program. Our kids wanted some of Station Camp, just to shut lil' brother up(SC has been talking about how good they were, until last night). Lebanon wasn't that bad, they gave several good teams a game this year. Get a better way to "discredit" what the young men have done besides, "Who have you played". We played the Region schedule we were dealt, and we won, bottomline. As for the idiot that called our fans rude and cocky, quit crying. I played for Gallatin when we went on a run of 39-4 in my 3 years of varsity football. You don't think we heard stuff from everyone we played, that wanted to beat the best. The worst was from a playoff game @ Bartlett when the cheerleaders would have made anyone blush with their comments. Every school has fans they are not proud of, just ask any UT fan, they have more than their fair share. Can't wait to stop all the second guessing, and play ball Friday.
  11. It's because WHAT? There's 2 East Tn teams ahead of Gallatin and Riverdale in the 5A poll. Gimmie a break. D-B gets that 10-0 record every other year and then gets beat by a middle TN team, but they are still first? Where's the bias? They are just going on records, how many of the jokesters voting have seen 25% of the teams in the top 10 play? The poll is a joke, has been for years.
  12. Aside from the fumble, those QB's played about as well as we could hope. I think we can last a couple rounds with these two under center. We had a fair turnout considering the weather. What a game the defense had. The passing TD was well covered, WR just out jumped him. Defense will be ready for next week. Get Well J.T. Let's Roll Green Wave, Let's Roll
  13. I have seen few worthy this season. Just haven't seen the talent in the 6-7 games that I have attended. If there was one or two from Gallatin's squad, I'd say Ben Miller, and maybe Jair Bell. Both are hard-nosed playmakers.
  14. Watching the game on my DVR, and yes, your player hit the punter. It doesn't matter how hard you hit him, it's a flag. Great defensive game, outside of 3 big plays, it might have gone into OT 7-7. How tough did the West kid run? He made a ton of plays on his own, blocking was spotty, but Bobcat D-line got a good push all night. Good luck Blue Devils.
  15. A college friend is the Head Coach @ N.D. and My uncle is a coach @ W.H. Definitely interesting week 11 for me. My BDP runs deep, been following them since '86. Good Luck to both. White House in a nail biter, 17-10? BTW, what a tough game on CSS last night. Both D's looked good.
