  1. I was just wondering if anyone has an update on the Adamsville player that was injured last Friday night in the game at TCA. I had heard that it was a neck fracture and was going to require surgery but that he was expected to fully recover. Can anyone confirm that or provide other information? I have been praying for him.
  2. Is there any update on Steven Jackson's condition? The sight of the ambulance on the field has haunted me and this young man has been on my mind. I hope that he is doing well and that the injury is not serious. If anyone has an update it would be appreciated. The Cardinals asserted themselves from the first whistle and I thought the Lions were going to be in big trouble. Fortunately they rallied and kicked it up several notches and then kept it there. Ya'll have a good team with a lot of size and heart and a bright future. The Lions managed to rise to their potential tonight and put it all together then executed well. I am so proud of our Lions!
  3. Well, the "team doctor" is actually a volunteer parent. He has served the team for years, before and after his son played. We have always been very greatful to have Dr. Cobb at the games. I have always suspected he just really likes being on the sidelines!
  4. Joey Hanson is a big part of the TCA team. Not only is he a talented player but he is also a big part of the team leadership and a wonderful young man. His determination to play and help his team was inspiring to say the least!
  5. A great rivalry, non-region game to start the year! Both teams have excellent quarterbacks, TCA's got more experience in their starters, USJ always fields a good team. The Lions still remember the last minute loss to USJ two years ago and undoubtably want revenge. I predict a great game! And I will have to pick the Lions to win by 10. Let's get ready for some football!!!!!!
  6. Trinity came out with a very different team then what we saw at the cwood, lake county scrimmage. The defensive side of the ball saw the most improvement as the lions came out hitting hard and ready for the huntingdon's run game. Except for a one lazy drive and a long run, the defense did a great job against the mustangs. The offense still looked good, but definitely still has some improvements to make. Sophomore JJ Tomlin has been looking better every week and has helped to let jabriel move out to some open space. The final was 21-20 trinity. Overall the lions had a great scrimmage, but every team always needs to get better. Now on to the jamboree. Did anyone else have scrimmages last night?
  7. the 3 seniors are K/FB/LB Josh Lenoir, TB/LB Austin Whitsitt, and C/DT Zac Hannaford
  8. And there is more to parenting a football player than making anonymous criticisms of the coaching staff on a message board. Like volunteering to help? You do realize of course that funding for the football program has been reduced at the same time as they have expanded the program to 6 teams with varsity and jv in HS, MS, and 5th/6th grade? So be a great tcaparent and volunteer to help the team be all they can be. I guarantee Coach Hodum will welcome your help.
  9. Reitzfan, that was an excellent write up. Thank you!! You should be writing for the Sun.
  10. The TCA field is in great shape and drains well so look for it to hold up well in the rain. As for the visitor stands, if memory serves me well, ours are not as big as your visitor stands so you better get there early. If there's room we would welcome you on the home side but you might not have any fun there, lol. From Old Humboldt Road the most direct way it to go to Ashport Road and take Ashport all the way to Windy City and turn left. The school is about 2 miles on the left. Safe travel to all the MacKenzie fans and get ready for a great game!!
  11. From what I understand there is already a bit of a rivalry from basketball. It started back when TCA was in their old gym (actually a cafegymatorium). The Adamsville students would chant something about us getting a real gym instead of a barn. The TCA students returned with "lets play football." It has continued into the new school where our students try to rub it in that they have a better gym now. Not sure what your students counter with. Anyway, now we can add football to the rivalry. And let the games begin!
  12. No doubt that the excitement surrounding this game is HUGE!! Since the two teams have never played before we really don't know who will prevail which just makes Friday night even more exciting. I noticed that Fearless picked TCA which scares me because he also picked JCS and UC over us so I wish he had picked Adamsville this time, lol. I just pray for a good game with no injuries and God-honoring sportsmanship. Oh, and good weather too!! May the better team win!
  13. ok my take on this game is that it will be a good close game. But if Trinity plays like they can and not turn the ball over, they could start to run away with this game. Union City is definitely a good team, but I think that Trinity is a little better. Trinity's coaches will have their players well prepared for this game. Trinity's offense has more than just Jabriel, with Joey Hanson, Dylan Yates, Austin Whitsitt, Josh Lenoir, Mark Lawrence, and Blake Spurgeon around him, Trinity has many options to move the ball. Trinity has also gotten better on the line, but has faced injuries and ejections that have forced younger guys to step up. If the game comes down to special teams, Trinity will be the favorite here. Lenoir is an excellent kicker and has shown before that he can come up big in close situations. Also if the game is close, Trinity has been known the past couple of years to fight til the end and has won close games by performing in the 4th quarter and overtimes.
  14. If TCA keeps playing like they did last week then this week and those following should be fun.
  15. its because Jabriel, Joey, and Mark are our corners and safety, and she was talking about defending the pass.
  16. giveemsixtn, yeah definitely a quinn or a p, those kids are awesome they love the being around the game more than any other kids i know, cant wait to see them play for trinity a few years down the road. Ethan Quinn All State Football player for sure haha.
  17. At the trenton west carrol scrimmage, TCA didnt not have their starting fullback tailback quaterback or guard. They used their 4th string quarterback who has never played quarterback, but still threw for close to 100 yards. They used 2 backup guards and a freshman right tackle and still managed to move the ball. THe fullback has only played one year of football and that was in 8th grade. we also lost a starting receiver because he had to play quarterback. So with all that goin against us I believe that TCA did a great job against trenton and wc... And TCA scored on trenton and trenton never scored on TCA's d... west carrol scored on 2 long plays against trinity but other than that didnt move the ball that well.
  18. If ur saying that in a real game huntingdon would win ur dead wrong... in a real game turnovers mean u lose the ball to the other team and dont get to keep driving... well in that case huntingdon would have only scored 1 offensive td in a real game as they turned the ball over before each of the other tds... and trinity would have 3 so that means that TCA woulda won if u ask me.
  19. My son was a senior last year and couldn't wait for Murphy Fair to come out. Finally the write up would be about him and his classmates. This was his year to be listed on the All Academic team. You can imagine his disappointment when he bought the magazine, with his own $$, only to find that Coach didn't send anything in. He said, "Coach doesn't believe in us either." It was going to be a rebuilding year afterall... Fortunately the team had more faith and it was a great season. That same coach did send it in this year.
  20. So did Huntingdon score 3 defensive TD's?? Looks like TCA must have turned the ball over a lot also No Huntingdon scored 1 defensive touchdown and TCA scored 2... Huntingdon threw a pick and had a fumble on the 1 that turned into a touchdown but they still kept the ball where the turnover was forced due to the fact that this was during the 10 play offense/defense part of the scrimmage.
  21. I basically have the same rankings except for the top 2... this is how i see i playing out 1. TCA 2. Adamsville 3. Riverside 4. Scotts Hill 5. Middleton
  22. Trinity beat Collinwood 7 td's to 4 in a game at Collinwood. Trinity had scores from Josh Lenoir, Jabriel Washington, Mark Lawrence, Austin Whitsitt, and Blake Spurgeon.
  23. The score was 7-4 in favor of Trinity. Scores from fullback Josh Lenoir, QB Jabriel Washington, WB Mark Lawrence, TB Austin Whitsitt, and LB Blake Spurgeon helped the Lions get the win in this one.
  24. This was a great game to watch... Forrest played very well until the 7th when 2 errors cost them the game... Congrats to the Lady Lions on winning another State Championship... Also congrats to TCA seniors Shelby Cummings and Ivy Renfroe on outstanding highschool careers with 5 state appearances, 1 3rd place, 1 runner-up, and 3 titles... Enjoyed watching the Lady Lions over the course of the year and can't wait til next year.
