I got to see half of the jv game and boys varsity last night. Highlanders were off. One problem Unaka has is no size. If #20 isn't in the game they can't get a rebound. UH was not a powerhouse. Something is missing on this team. This Unaka bunch is not like the teams that went to the state. Easy to predict, man to man defense, nothing else. Every team knows that so they prepare for it. UH struggled against the zone earlier this year but not one time did Unaka ever try it to see if it could work. Unaka needs to develop a big man who can score inside. The JV had a couple of big boys 55 and one who played on the varsity I think Bowers. Maybe they can make good players down the road because I'm seeing a drop off in talent when you get past those seniors. Right now I take UH and Cloudland because of it's big men. Is the Cloudland boys and girls in the Unaka tournament?

unaka has some major problems right now. i heard point guard quit and backup got hurt. moving two freshman up. and to think only three seasons ago they won the state and went back to the state the next year. some of the boys said at the weight lifting event they hated playing on this team. is this true?

1. Cloudland (tuffer than the Cyclones, Eliz doesn't want any of of the Landers) 2. Unicoi (Manier is best post player in area) 3. Elizabethton (good team but not like the past 2 seasons) 4. Unaka (getting better but too young to make a serious threat) 5. Happy Valley (some good players, but another team with ????????????) 6. Hampton (well coached but ) 7. Johnson County (one good player, McCloud)

I would check the Eliz. Star. The J.C. Press had Roper making the shot to win the game. How could a writer miss somebody hitting a last second shot. I wasn't at the game so was it Roper or Smith? Who covered the game for the Star?

I remember Temple getting beat by Unaka and Rusty Chambers throwing Tyler McCann about eight or nine layups in the semi finals in 2004. They beat you and Grace Christian and took home the gold ball. I've never seen a defense get picked to pieces like that. Cloudland has the team to do that to you this season if you guys make it.

coalfield players an d coaches are eating this stuff up. factor in the loss last year and they will be ready hampton fans and players need to be excited about #25 return but put a bullseye on 25 - 4 and 82 coalfield will hit them even when they dont have the ball 22 and 12 will decide if hampton wins this football game

what are you hampton people going to do after friday night if you get beat? some of you will go into coach t withdrawals. i think you are going to have the same fate as last season. a win this week and a thumping the next. i dont read much junk in the star but the milhorn story was very good and he does play well despite his size. broke him down like a shotgun haha hey maynadette, are you ok with the cloudland hire?

for someone who has family in Iraq, I doubt PUJO if Friday night is going to be a war. try not to compare war to a football game. maybe tim knows something we dont. maybe he's just trying to get his former school fired up to play. he might be your child;s coach one day. who knows? i heard some of the guys talking over the weekend about how easy they beat them last year with the same players. i hope hampton wins but harriman will be a big test

payne couldnt win at cloudland nor anybody else and chambers is a very good baseball coach because i played on two of his teams you couldnt drag that bunch off the creek he told all the players he was quitting how much more offfical do you want it to be. krich got it before the star way to go krick
