  1. 69-27???? Holy cow!!!! How did it get this out of hand...I knew Cwood had the superior team but how did Wayne County, a team that nearly beat Summertown, only put up 27 points in 32 minutes of basketball??? Appreciate any info...
  2. Come on now... Summer camp means nothing. I promise your record in camp is not included in your final record at the end of the season. And especially camp games that are only one half. Those usually aren't recorded either.... Either way good win for Collinwood. And I mean the one in December...
  3. Summertown on top just like always huh?? It seems like Wayne County won the region last year and went to the state final four. The year prior to that Mount Pleasant won the region and Wayne County went to the final four that year. It has been a while since Summertown was the last team standing out of District 12A.
  4. I have never heard of a team that only plays 5 or 6 beat a Phil Willard team. Most years he is 9 or 10 deep and forces an up-tempo style that is difficult to play with for four quarters. Especially with no bench. I have heard Collinwood's conditioning in the off season was ridiculously tough. I guess we will find out Friday night. Summertown- 67 Collinwood- 58
  5. District 12A has perhaps the best junior class in the state. Wayne Co. has 4 very solid juniors led by Rachel Melson, who has a great all round game. She is a 5'8 guard who can score from anywhere on the floor and plays tenacious defense. Collinwood also boasts two very talented juniors in Lesley Daniel and Abby Andrews. Abby may be the best junior in the state in class A basketball. Might be the mentally toughest player I have seen in a long time and has the ability to take over a game at will. Haley Lovett from Summertown also deserves mention. She has become a very solid guard and has a great ability to create for her teammates. A true point guard.
  6. No. It wasn't a little sarcasm. It was a whole lot.
  7. Haha... Yeah...To come back and beat a very mediocre Wayne County team on a last second shot really makes you a championship contender. If Zion wins this district, it should be completely done away with. I suppose the 33 point thrashing you guys took from Summertown was a fluke? If everybody plays with passion and desire like Cass does every night, they may beat Summertown next time they meet. I mean if their was a blue collar award for Distrcit 12-A, Cass would win hands down. He absolutely hustles all over the floor and gives 110% every night. His best attribute, however, is probably his leadership. He knows how to rally his troops, especially in critical moments.. Anyways, it is a long season. It will be interesting to see how many games Summertown wins the District regular season title by I guess...
  8. Yeah, your right. It "didnt work to hot." Great english by the way. Wayne County was only up 12 with around 3 minutes to go. They are the better team, however do not know how to finish off a win. They are obviously inexperienced and make mistakes that younger guys are going to make. I personally think that if Wayne County can play a team with a Division 1 signee to the wire, and perhaps should have won, that they are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. They will gel. They just need time. Great job Zion. You just beat Wayne County for the first time( and maybe the last time). Go to Disneyworld.
  9. Cass will get his 20+ points tonight, however a more balanced Wayne County attack will prevail. Zion Christian-48 Wayne County-57
  10. Executioner hits the nail on the head with this entire post... If Franks finds a way to get it done this year there is no way he can be passed over for coach of the year again...Right??.... And Trotter could have most definitely used the unmatched intellect that Huddleston can bring to the table. He was soley responsible for every win WCHS was able to muster during his brief time there. Any team would be fortunate to land a coach of his caliber.
  11. Well....The biggest rivalry in Region 6. Even though Wayne County is a little down in talent this year, I'm not sure Collinwood will blow them out... Collinwood squeezed out a win over PC by a touchdown... The same amount that Wayne County was victorious over the Vikes. I think that Collinwood didn't play anywhere near there best against PC, and the Wildcats probably played very solid against PC. Collinwood will beat WC..... C'wood- 34 WC-20
  12. Summertown will be young, but they are loaded with exceptional talent. They should easily walk away with District 12A. However the Collinwood Trojans are going to be a much improved team and could make a push in the District race. Never count out Ryan Franks and the Wayne County Wildcats... He has put his team in the state semi-finals the last two years. District 11A should by no means be ready to take the region crown. Culleoka will be stacked, but I will go ahead and predict that Coach Trotter and the Summertown Eagles will take the Region title.
