Charles Mctorry was a graduate of Overton High school not Brentwood Acad. He had a younger brother that went to B.A.

The season for my son ended at regions this year . It was his last . He may wrestle for a club once he gets to college. His plans are to go to Western Kentucky . Iam writing this becaus I want to thank some people . Kevin Randolph and Hunter thank you . You and Hunter are what make this sport so great. Shane Turner thank you we don't know each other that well but you were in the corner for Colt in Pittsburgh last March. Jeremy Welder you will always be afriend along with Joe Blair . I don't know who had the most fun at Buzzsaw me or Colt . Tim Deaton I'm not forgeting you. Brad Fiscus is the best tournament director in the world . Hows that Brad. timcol go to the nhsca.com web site they will have all the info or the nationals . it's my understanding they will be in Virginia beach this year. Last year the junior and sophmore nationals before the senior nationals . I recomend any junior sophmore and freshman that want to persue wrestling in college participate in this tournament.

OK let me see how can I as a parent of Overton wrestling rip you a new one that the sun dosn't shine on . Is this the only reason why you joined coach t . You had all the season to contribute but this is all you have. People don't understand that sometime wrestling is more than two guys getting on the mat . There is also strategy that plays into what is going to make matches competitive. Ralph Gabriel is one of the top coaches in the state. It's like this you need to think about what you are posting . Gabe cares more than you will ever know.

If you look at the big picture it's easy to see and know why Kelly was rewarded with OW. He is a three time champ . A national champ . He is probably one of Tenn. better wrestlers sense Charles McTorry . When you have the ability use it .There are other great wrestlers and they deserve all the positive responses left on this thread. Charles was and still is making impact on Tennwrestling and wrestlers . Kelly has the youth and chance to do the same. Congradulations to Kelly you have my respect and support. Lloyd Kittrell

Trent Gibbs did an outstanding job. It was a highlight of my day to see someone like him do as well as he did . I've known Trent sense he was a seventh grader and you won't find a finer young man . He will go far in life . Also while i'm here congrats go to Kerry Dowell . Lloyd Kittrell

Camerons match against Quick from Tullahoma was a great match . Quick is strong and a good wrestler . Cameron kept himself in the match by wrestling the full six minutes . Both of these young men will do well in the future.

Lucas you are absolutely right. Region 7 had 3 kids at 103. I 'm going to say this and I don't want it to sound like I am making any excuses for my son ,But this happened to three other Overton wrestlers. My son lost to only one region 7 wrestler . He beat Hendersonvilles 140 Oaklands 140 Smyrnas 140 Glenclifs 140 there was also Dicksons 140 and Cheatams 140 .I am glad all these young men got to go to state , but come on . Colt was 4th seed in the region . He could have been there just like anybody else . It was'nt his lack of trying .The rest of the 140s in region 6 are a notch above .What I'm trying to say is there was a lot of kids that didn't go that should have . Our 119 had a great season and he is at home . I STILL SAY IF THEY ARE GOING TO CALL IT A WILD CARD SYSTEM THEN LET THE FOURTH PLACE KIDS WRESTLE FOR IT. I hope that everybody that earn the chance to go to state enjoys it .

Gabe tried to schedule three different times to wrestle Ravenwood . They could not fit us into there schedule . He even tried to work it into some quads but that did'nt happen . There are other places in middle Tn to have duals it could be held at the Municipal auditorium maybe the Allen center at David Lipscomb or even the Williamson county ag center . The re is also places in Memphis the Pyramid would be great Knoxville has places also . I realy believe if it were held after Individuals it would draw larger crowds . Clarksville does a great job . Ireally don't think weather had that much to do with attendance . I think everybody knew who would bein the finals . When ever some one can step up and be competitive with Soddy and Bradley numbers will be up.
