  1. Can anyone give me contact information for the MBA coaches (preferably e-mail addresses)? I'd like to make an inquiry. Thanks.
  2. I just saw that Cody Cleveland got pinned in his first consolation match and ends the tournament 0-2 after being an AA last year. What happened?
  3. For the most part, you're right. In states with multiple divisions you have to finish top 2 at some point. In states like New Jersey with just one division, I believe the top 4 qualify. In the one and only California with their monster state tournament, top 8 qualify.
  4. Alright, so I like to follow TN wrestlers in college, and while I was reading match results for Cornell I came across the match breakdown for Corey Manson vs. Harvard. 141: Corey Manson (Cornell) vs. Johnny Mateley 1st Period 2:44 takedown Manson, 2-0 2:20 escape Mateley, 2-1 2:09 takedown Manson, 4-1 0:49 escape Mately, 4-2 0:35 takedown Manson, 6-2 0:24 escape Mately, 6-3 0:19 takedown Manson, 8-3 2nd Period Manson choose bottom 1:55 escape Manson, 9-3 1:48 takedown Manson, 11-3 0:30 escape Mately, 11-4 0:15 takedown Manson, 13-4 Third Period Mately chooses down 2:00 escape Mately, 13-5 1:51 takedown Manson, 15-5 1:46 escape Mately, 15-6 1:31 takedown Manson, 17-6 1:23 escape Mately, 17-7 1:19 takedown, Manson, 19-7 1:06 stall warning MAtely 0:58 escape Mately, 19-8 0:56 takedown Manson, 21-8 0:56 escape Manson, 21-9 0:28 takedown Manson, 23-9 0:20 escape Mately, 23-10 0:04 stall warning Mately, 24-10 3:58 riding time Manson, 25-10 Manson tech fall Mately, 25-10 (7:00) Cornell 13, Harvard 0 **Four team points were awarded for the tech fall because no back points were awarded I had no idea that's the way it worked. First of all, is this even right? Second, does it work this way at the high school level as well? Maybe I need to crack open a rule book, but I've never heard of this before.
  5. Same as they should in wrestling. For instance, in the BCS title game, no refs from the SEC or Big 12 were used. Regardless of whether reffing may be biased, this system certainly does away with the greatest possibility of it.
  6. Let me just get one thing straight. You never call out a ref? Really? Wow, I didn't know refs were infallible and should never be called out for any call, no matter how blatantly wrong it is. If you really think reffing makes no difference in a match, then maybe you should go talk to Bond Davis for just a bit. ROFL.
  7. I know you were. Had you gone for the full-on insult you might have stirred the pot, but I like to think I'm learning when to pick my battles (hopefully). Also, you didn't seem like you meant any harm, so I figured I'd let it slide. Clarksville High Wrestling did everything for me, so defending it, the coaches that made me into the man I am as far as my more noble traits are concerned, and the parents of fellow wrestlers that treated me like a son comes naturally to me. I'd do anything for the program. I plan on being a lawyer, so I guess my persistence and propensity to argue aren't totally without merit. Though, hopefully, I'll tone down my insults by then.
  8. Quite the blaze, then. Very impressive regardless of the reason.
  9. The more results I see from the state tournament, the more I wonder how the heck Soddy lost their region. Boggles the mind.
  10. I know the feeling of coming up short in high school (lost in the consolation quarterfinals of state senior year), and believe me, it stays with you (hence me still wrestling). A lot of colleges have club teams, I'd look into that if I were you. It's a great way to continue doing something you love without it consuming your life like it would in a Div.1 or 2 wrestling program.
  11. You may want to rethink that last statement. He is good, and don't take this as an insult to him, but he is decidedly not better than at least one of the people placing 3-6 (Beazley).
