  1. Riverdale has to do two things: 1) "Believe they are good and believe they can be physical and believe they can make a play when the game is on the line". 2) Remember that "one defensive back can't cover Rod, that it will take two or three". If they believe and triple team Rod, they might pull off the upset.
  2. Knowing this staff, I do not think last night's tape is the only one they will look at. Have a feeling last years playoff game will be viewed a few times.
  3. Please read much sarcasim into my last post. Our defense has played well all year. I have all the confidence in the world that our defense will hold them.
  4. Good post. Thanks for the tie breaker information.
  5. How can this region be considered the toughest or best when they play no defense?
  6. Be real cat. Riverdale will be lucky to stay on the field with that great explosive Smyrna offense. I hope our boys can keep it close. RIverdale wins 21 - 17
  7. 82cat, correct me if I'm worng and I'm sure you will, but I do not believe Smyrna is assured a playoff spot yet. Consider this scenario: Lebanon wins next week and then loses to Siegel. Siegel wins out Smyrna loses out All three end up with a 4 - 3 region record. Based on tie breakers, who goes to the playoff?
  8. It is at Smyrna. The last time we played there it turned out OK.
  9. I believe his record against Coach A is 1 and 1. I would not call a 9 - 7 win beating someone like a red-headed step child. I believe they both have the same number of state championships also.
  10. The MJ coaches were there this summer to observe how Riverdale's line did certain things in group work. Something to do with a grid. It was not how to run the wing-t.
  11. How can I compare Smyrna's schedule to Smyrna's? I compared the out of region schedules of both theam, Riverdale and Smyrna, using the strength of schedule ratings on this board and Riverdales is stronger.
  12. Based on this boards schedule strength and schedule + success rankings, which is up to date and considers this year only, I would say the regions are even. In the strength + rankings 12 of the top 20 come from these two regions, 6 from each. Also based on these rankings I would say Riverdale is for real. If they manage to win this Friday they may be ranked #1 in the strength + succes rankings.
  13. Bdogg, why do you think Riverdale's season just started and that they are overrated? They have played the same region schedule as the dogs and have a better record. Also, on the strength of schedule and strength + success rankings, they are ranked higher than Smyrna. If Riverdale's season just started last Friday, when does Smyrna's start? Riverdale might have an antiquated finess offense but as it lulls you in the defense will flat punch you in the nose.
  14. This is a game of two very evenly matched teams. They have played the same region teams (Oakland, Blackman, Siegel, Lebanon) and are both 4 - 0. Against these four teams RHS has scored 88 points and given up 20 while WC has scored 111 and given up 43. The average score turns out to be 22 to 5 for RHS and 27.75 to 10.75 for WC. Both have an average margin of victory of 17 points. If the old adage that defense wins championships is true, then I'll go with the Warriors for this game. RHS 21 WC 7. As a side note: Smyrna has played the same four region teams and is 3 - 1. They have scored 122 points and given up 72. Average score of 30.5 to 18. Average margin of victory is 12.5 points.
  15. Hey bdogg, look back through the thread and you will see that you are the one that brought the Warriors into it.
  16. Bdogg, my reply had nothing to do with the Warriors and puppies in two weeks. Read 82cat's question. "so you dont think you can beat riverdale or wc but you can beat smyrna?". His asked the question like he cannot believe someone would think it possible that this would happen. My response was that Lebanon did the exact thing he thinks is impossible. The Warriors are not studying the puppies yet. If they are, a very good WC team will hand them their heads next week. The Warriors will take care of business this week then they will bring their Metro Jr. Pro ball to Smyrna. I just hope when that time comes, the Warriors can stay on the field with the puppies.
  17. 82cat, I have one word for you, Lebanon.
  18. You saw only what Coach A wanted to show early in the season. You need to ask Dickson County about our one dimensional offense. I am sure they would tell you otherwise.
  19. Bdogg, I love to get on coach t after a long day of work to read your posts because they bring me much laughter. Have you thought about competing on the last comic standing?
  20. I was at the Lebanon - WC game Friday night and Lebanon must have had their offensive weapons and skill players on the bench. Unless they bring a different team this Friday, Riverdale gets another shutout. Not only does Riverdale have bigger and better lines, they have more speed.
  21. Actually, many colleges now offer full scholarships for that position. Many, especially the larger schools with better programs, are getting away from trying to teach a TE, QB, or WR to do it and recruiting snappers like any other position. HSsportsfootball, if you are a player and feel so strong about not snapping over the holders head, maybe you should ask the coach to let you have that job. It can't be that difficult to throw a spiral between your legs to a 12" target while your bent over and there are other players waiting to hit you. Oh, and the game is on the line. I am sure this was not the only missed assingment by a player on either team.
  22. Not only did they do this, they did it and their coaches knew it but did nothing about it. Not only are these men terrible coaches, they have no class.
  23. The most unbelieveable stat of the night: THREE PASS ATTEMPTS IN A ROW. and while in the red zone. The 50 something yard pass play in the first quarter was really nice. There were also two wide open TD passes that were over thrown.
  24. They have so much offenseive potential that they totaled 0 points against Riverdale. I cant believe you would rather face the likelihood of being shut out. You have a better chance of winning in a shoot out right now and not a defensive battle.
  25. It would be really difficult to turn down the Gators right now. That offense would be much more fun to play in for a WR than what the Vols run. Plus you will have more opportunities to play for championships.
