Blackman - 5 La Vergne - 3 It truly was an ugly, hard-fought game.

Eight months and counting and it's finally here! I love high school football. Does anyone know what La Vergne's running this year? I've heard it's the spread again, but I could be wrong.

I don't think anything should be done. It brings out the best in the players. Don't get me wrong, it stinks being on the outside lookin' in, but that's life, man. It really maximizes the level of competition when you know a few losses could end your post-season aspirations.

I don't think it has anything to do with segregation. Players will line Vanderbilt up to proven programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Flordia, and others. Players want to win. On an unrelated note, wouldn't it be something if Sonny pulled duo-sports AGAIN? "Sonny Gray hits the reciever in the end-zone, touchdown Commodores!" Well, that was fun.

Well to get technical La Vergne didn't have their starting QB their entire match-up, but did have a potential starting quarterback in Ryan Williams. And maybe we should wait a week before talking about Round 3 of the playoffs. Seems kind of silly doesn't it?

I haven't seen them play personally since their loss to LaVergne 19-7 in the first round last year. It should be a good game.

Final: Riverdale - 21 La Vergne - 20 ONE FREAKIN' POINT. I think that makes all the losses by ten total points? And now that the season is over, time to pull for 4-5A to dominate the brackets.

Davidbaxter is such a funny little kid. Anyway, the game should be close. LaVergne has nothing to lose and I expect them to come out and play their hearts out. Heck, a point or two here and there and this could have been for the region. But of course after this game I'm pullin' for Riverdale. I'm not a player, I can't be held accountable. :] But I wasn't making the statement to diss anyone at Wilson Central, I expect them to go deep in the playoffs and they deserve everything they get. I just thought it was really funny.

A good chunk of them went to see Saw IV. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" It was a great game, both teams had an excellent effort. I think LaVergne did well considering Tillery and Ukwu were out. Oh...and Chris Gray. I would pay $6 just to watch this guy catch footballs. He's amazing. Oh, and some 13-year-old kept coming over to the LaVergne side talking crap ALL GAME. Around the middle of the third quarter when he wouldn't stop, one of our seniors called him over and jumped over the fence, took his bell he was ringing, smashed and stomped it, and through it across the track. Man, what a great night.

Did I say anything about the final drive, or the outcome of the game? There's a difference between playing during the game and playing whilst a player is down on the field in pain.

The only thing I noticed (which is kinda' iffy) is Smyrna's band continued to play while people were injured. It may not be big to some people, but I think it's a great disrespect to those people. No disrespect to Smyrna, of course.
