  1. Blackman - 5 La Vergne - 3 It truly was an ugly, hard-fought game.
  2. Eight months and counting and it's finally here! I love high school football. Does anyone know what La Vergne's running this year? I've heard it's the spread again, but I could be wrong.
  3. Oakland La Vergne Smyrna Tullahoma WC BA Antioch Warren Co. Hillsboro Ravenwood
  4. I don't think anything should be done. It brings out the best in the players. Don't get me wrong, it stinks being on the outside lookin' in, but that's life, man. It really maximizes the level of competition when you know a few losses could end your post-season aspirations.
  5. Don't they only have like four wins? Yeah. Disitrict champs baby. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. I don't think it has anything to do with segregation. Players will line Vanderbilt up to proven programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Flordia, and others. Players want to win. On an unrelated note, wouldn't it be something if Sonny pulled duo-sports AGAIN? "Sonny Gray hits the reciever in the end-zone, touchdown Commodores!" Well, that was fun.
  7. Well to get technical La Vergne didn't have their starting QB their entire match-up, but did have a potential starting quarterback in Ryan Williams. And maybe we should wait a week before talking about Round 3 of the playoffs. Seems kind of silly doesn't it?
  8. I haven't seen them play personally since their loss to LaVergne 19-7 in the first round last year. It should be a good game.
  9. Final: Riverdale - 21 La Vergne - 20 ONE FREAKIN' POINT. I think that makes all the losses by ten total points? And now that the season is over, time to pull for 4-5A to dominate the brackets.
  10. Blackman LaVergne Lebanon Smyrna CC Cookeville DC Bartlett Bearden DB It's been fun. :]
  11. Davidbaxter is such a funny little kid. Anyway, the game should be close. LaVergne has nothing to lose and I expect them to come out and play their hearts out. Heck, a point or two here and there and this could have been for the region. But of course after this game I'm pullin' for Riverdale. After this game. /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />
  12. I'm not a player, I can't be held accountable. :] But I wasn't making the statement to diss anyone at Wilson Central, I expect them to go deep in the playoffs and they deserve everything they get. I just thought it was really funny.
  13. A good chunk of them went to see Saw IV. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" It was a great game, both teams had an excellent effort. I think LaVergne did well considering Tillery and Ukwu were out. Oh...and Chris Gray. I would pay $6 just to watch this guy catch footballs. He's amazing. Oh, and some 13-year-old kept coming over to the LaVergne side talking crap ALL GAME. Around the middle of the third quarter when he wouldn't stop, one of our seniors called him over and jumped over the fence, took his bell he was ringing, smashed and stomped it, and through it across the track. Man, what a great night.
  14. Did I say anything about the final drive, or the outcome of the game? There's a difference between playing during the game and playing whilst a player is down on the field in pain.
  15. The only thing I noticed (which is kinda' iffy) is Smyrna's band continued to play while people were injured. It may not be big to some people, but I think it's a great disrespect to those people. No disrespect to Smyrna, of course.
  16. I saw Tillery on crutches yesterday (passing through the cafeteria, ironically, apparently that's the place to go when I need injury updates). Today I saw him walk by me pretty fast today, no crutches. Hopefully he can play Friday night, he's such an athlete and it's a blow to the offense without him.
  17. ..4-5A. Riverdale: 8-0, 5-0 Smyrna: 6-2. 4-1 Wilson Central: 7-1, 4-1 LaVergne: 5-3, 2-3 Siegel: 5-3, 2-3 Someone's not getting in. edit: For the sake of the argument, LaVergne's losses have come by the hands of seven points...total.

  19. It's heart-breaking to think that these guys could be out of playoff contention due to 7 points, and two losses due to late winning-field goal misses. Both teams played in amazing came. And that corner-catch from Chris Gray for a touchdown...oh my goodness. That's got to be one of the best catches I've seen this year. edit: Actually, all three of LaVergne's losses have involved last-second field goals. It's a funny game, football.
  20. Collins Ukwu? I saw him walking in the cafeteria and I saw his finger was wrapped up, I don't think it was his hand, not sure when he'll return either.

  22. Plan on buyin' my tickets tomorrow. I'm not waiting in a line for half an hour or longer.
  23. It's not as much that as it is fooling with Tie Breakers. If we lose, we go to 2-3 in the region meaning you would have to lose three games, which isn't possible.
  24. I was actually skeptical about that unsportsmanlike conduct. I was under the impression that it was unnecessary roughness, in which case it DEFINITELY looked the other way. I've gotta' give Siegel their props. I honestly can't tell you what happened - they played great. They shut off Randall (which is very hard to do) although I don't think he got that many touches. LaVergne could not stop the run at all. There was one play where the receiver had about two steps on the DB although it was just under-thrown ever-so-slightly. Hmm. It could be a make or break against Smyrna, depending on how these final three play out.
