  1. #40 Pendarvis was the starting FB last year. That might be who you are thinking of. DC has played their two annual scrimmages. The BA scrimmage was a complete blowout, while the Lincoln Co. match was a lot closer. I found it hard to tell how the starters look though because they were hardly played. I believe this will be the first true test for DC.
  2. Yep-- be careful of the 30mph speed trap called McEwen. Regarding the game... well, Dickson has lost a LOT of players. I saw some one mention a "hard running FB/RB" in an earlier post. I believe that was in reference to #27 who graduated last year. Dickson has a couple of good backs (good as in quick), but no one with the combination of power and quickness of Rayburn (#27). I believe Dickson Co. will have a rough season. As for this game I can't really say. Everyone has pointed out the biggest factor which is the sheer competitiveness between the two schools. Whether Dickson can pull it together against a rumored-to-be excellent team in HC will be determined Friday night.
  3. I have not seen Ravenwood play yet this season, but after watching the DC game in person I have to admit that IHS looked pretty good. They were more successful against DC than Riverdale was just two weeks before. I believe some of it had to do with Dickson not showing up ready to play, but there is no telling. If they show up like they did for DC then it should go well for them.
  4. Dickson County will be losing just about all of their offensive and defensive lines. If I counted right, 7 starters from this year's DC defense will be returning. The offense will lose several backs including RB #1 and FB #30 , the back-up RBs #17, #25, and #34. I also believe #88, DC's leading receiver, is also graduating. Be it rumor or not, I have also heard that their QB will not be playing next year. I think the region will stack up again pretty close to what it did this year, with the top few teams being in the same relative order. I also believe Brentwood will come back stronger next year. But who knows, I guess we'll just have to wait until 2007
  5. Simplified: If Dickson County had not had mental mistakes (false starts, etc) and had not turned it over 5 times, they would be hosting Ravenwood this week. Sure they were physical, but Dickson County has played physical defenses this year and not fumbled 3 or 4 times. Riverdale and Franklin are two examples that come to mind. Don't get me wrong, DC's offense was outplayed, but that goes back to what I said. I think they weren't ready for or had overlooked Antioch.
  6. They are perfectly capable of making it to the Quarter finals, but from there I don't know. If they make it to state they'll probably end up going against Riverdale or Ooltewah, and I doubt they would win in either game. Of course, I said the same thing about Dickson County, so I guess we'll find out as the game are played
  7. Rematches...dangerous business. However, I still think Riverdale will win. I'll guess 28-14.
  8. If Ravenwood comes with their heads screwed on straight and doesn't play like DC did, then they should win without any issue.
  9. A surprising and heartbreaking loss for DC. Not to bash Antioch, but it looked like DC won the game for them. DC's defense was too much for Antioch's offense, but unfortunately for Dickson, their offense didn't step up. I think they were still in the locker room at then end of the 2nd quarter. Since all but Region 6's 4th seed lost I think it's time to follow Ravenwood. I still can't believe 1, 2 and 3 all got knocked off.
  10. Apparently Ravenwood was (or at least played) better...
  11. Yes, I don't know why I was thinking Smyrna. It wouldn't even be possible for Dickson and Smyrna to get matched up in the 1st round anyway. Good luck to both Antioch and Dickson.
  12. I thought it was a #4 seeded Dickson Co. vs #1 seeded Smyrna, but maybe I'm a year off or just wrong altogether.
  13. Brentwood should be able to beat Hunters Lane, but it will be an interesting game nonetheless.
  14. I think this will be a good, close game, but only if both teams show up to play their best game. Yes, maybe Gallatin's schedule isn't the toughest, but Ravenwood (in my opinion) has been inconsistent in their play from game to game. Example: They lost by 1 point to Brentwood Academy, then lost 16-6 to Franklin. Regardless, Friday night will show what both teams are made of. If Gallatin truly is overrated then we will find out. Side note: I highly doubt a state run this year by Gallatin. I think if they survive this game Week 2 will be trouble.
  15. From what I've seen Dickson has some good back-ups too, not to mention Brown. #17 and #25 got some good runs in the Ravenwood game.
