All I have to say is This better be the best GP team ever (and from what Ive seen its not) because I saw the best high school football team I have ever seen Fri. night in Smith County and it wasnt the owls. GP better have the best team they have had in the past 10 years or they dont have a chance! The Alcoa team I saw Friday night would run through any GP team I have seen play in the past 10 years like a train. I am from middle TN and have seen GP play alot, been in the same region. They dont have a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said its complicated there are so many loopholes its not even funny. Good Example! Most schools charge out of zone fees but are predominately zoned kids which makes there enrollment go up and play in the higher classes like Maryville is 4a I think.

IMO if you have to pay tuition to go to that school it should be classified private and all sports should be made to play D-2. Magnet & open enrollment schools should have a area around the school that the kids in that area are made to go there plus anyone else who wishes to attend that school which would move them to the higher classes where there is equal competition. If the Magnet or open zone schools require tuition or any other standard it should be classified private as well because just anyone cant attend. Its a complicated situation but something needs to be done because small rural schools rarely have a chance with all the privates that dominate A,AA. Poor East Robertson!

congrats to the owls! Good Luck next week. Make region 4-2A proud. I would like to say also that Jacob Bass is a class act and a heck of a ball player. The way that he conducted hisself during and after the game shows the respect that these 2 teams have for each other. Take the fight to'em next week.

With as much rain that has fallen Im sure the field will be sloppy it was already soft from the last rain.It will definitly be to the bigger teams advantage,but anything can happen in those conditions.GO EAGLES

WHS has a pretty good D,but shutting Smith down again is another story. As I stated before I dont imagine we'll see the same Smith we saw last time. I also dont think Smith will see the same WHS they saw either. I think this one will be just as close. I'll be pulling for either team next week.

year in and year out there is no one dominant public school. they have good years and subpar years. even when privates have subpar years they go to state and lose. yea some years you have publics in the championship game , but its different team every year against the same privates. As far as David Lipscomb goes if i had to play a private it would be them because they are the most respectful and classiest private out there fans included. I dispise GP.

2a has always had privates all the multiplier did was give us all the 1a privates and made david lipscomb move up. 10 in for 1 out doesnt seem fair.

I have been to every football game in the past 20 + years. There have been 2 teams that have been to the semi-finals 77' & 86'. So until someone makes it to the finals these are the best 2 teams ever regardless of stats & stars.

Atleast it would be public against public. Have you ever been to a Goodpasture game and looked at the tags on the cars in the parking lot. They are from counties all over the state and some out of state. The QB is from Portland I know because thats where Im from.

Hey , Ive got an idea. How about if your school gives scholarships or requires payment to go there go play in Division 2 and give the public schools a chance in 2-A.

There is no doubt that both of these teams respect each other. I dont feel that SC played very well in the first meeting and Westmoreland played pretty good,but I also think Westmoreland still hasnt played their best yet. This game should be one of the best games around. There will be a very large crowd Friday because Westmoreland is the only team in Sumner County still in it. No matter who wins I think region 4-2a has been represented well. GO EAGLES . Both teams play your hearts out and leave the field with your heads high because you deserve it!

Well its 5 hours away from kick off whose gonna take this one? Im picking the EAGLES by a touchdown. I dont figure this game will be a blowout by either team. Hope both teams end up injury free so one can represent 4-2A strong.

Lowery is a very good QB and top 5 in mid-state and Madison is 15th but those stats are pretty good for a public school QB.
