  1. parnokr hope everyone is well, good on this end. how are the facilities and everyone doing. from reading what you have wrote seems things still are the same o same o, still chasing coach singleton at grainger. will keep up with you this season. Hope littlle parnokr has a good year and how is the oldest little parnokr doing.
  2. coach Pearson was on the staff when W.B. went to the play-offs for the first time in school history in 1993 and he was the head coach the charlie replaced. Coach Pearson was assistant baseball coach with Coach White in 1991-92 and became the Head Coach in 93-94 and played Farragut for the district championship in 94. Granted charlie took it to the next level when coach Pearson went to Heritage as assistant football coach with Jim Moore in 1994. H.H.S. was his alma matre and he took the opportunity. He has told me that that was a mistake to go back that early in his career. Hopefully the path he has taken to reach this point has been beneficial and he will get the opportunity that he so badly desires.
  3. I have been watching your posts and it seems that more and more people are looking at coaches from outside of the blount county area and as a former student and player at H.H.S. who has moved away the thing that you are missing is the only coaches that have ever been successful at Heritage are coaches that have ties to the school. From what I have read their are plenty of qualified coaches that do have a history at Heritage. Some of those coaches are Jon Mcbrayer, Jon Young, Mike Pearson, Shane Rewis. Mike White is a very good assistant at Maryville and he would be qualified becuse of his history in Blount County and I know that his father raised him up to be a Head Coach. The landscape of football in blount county is like no other place and an outsider will be at a disadvantage and they will only use this job as a stepping stone. Mike Pearson is the guy that has the most to offer if you check out his history of rebuilding programs such as the baseball program at william blount and the softball program at Pigeon Forge and the success he has had as an Ofensive Coordinator at w.b. and South Greene. Whenever he has had responsibillity he has been successful. The other thing I think is a positive about coach Pearson is his positive attitude and ability to motivate kids and get the max. out of each player involved. Jon Mcbrayer may not have had a good record at Union County but he did get them to the playoffs.
  4. Who are some of the best offensive and defensive line coaches in east tennnessee that would be viable candidates to be hired if you were rebuilding a program with lots of potential.
  5. living outside of maryville does not give me all the info to discuss this matter but looking back on earlier post and adding 2 + 2 is coach wilhite not an assistant at william blount. Has he been let go by coach Meadows or what is going on down at william blount.
  6. he was at southe greene as the o.c. when i saw him work
  7. I was just looking at the new districts and was browsing and see where flip pearsons name was mentioned for the heritage job. I saw him coach when he was at south greene and he was very impressive. has a great feel for what kids can do and he seems to be one of those guys that can motivate. He would be a real good hire for the heritage job.
  8. For some reason the previous thread was locked out and could not be replied to. First of all I will repeat that I heard there may be a change in the head football job at heritage high school in blount county. having moved out of town I had heard that the coach may not return and i was just wondering if anyone had heard this.
  9. As an alum that has moved away and keeps up with blount county football I was wondering if it is true that the mountaineers will have a new general incharge next year.
  10. Give me some feedback on what you think it will take for H.H.S. to return to the days of success on the gridiron. The new Athletic Director is a step in the right direction. Chip Fuller is a very dedicated, humble young man who will make the right decesions for the right reasons.
  11. i believe that the commando classic was held last week. could anyone give me a rundown on how the results turned out. if their were any district 2 AA schools involved how did they do.
  12. i was unaware that the lady rebels were looking for a new coach. did the former coach resign or was she fired. do you have any ideas who may take over on the hill.
  13. I was unaware of the rebs looking for a new coach. Was the fromer coach dismissed or did she resign on her own. I do know that caoch Chris Ricker"s daughter will be a freshman next year.
  14. does anyone knoe the outcome of the pigeon forge and greeneville softball game yesterday.
  15. why are you so concerned who's at fault. you need to place your energy at helping turn the program around. it seems as though this thread has cooled off over the last 4 or 5 days. the program is where it is and only a combined effort of parents, community, school, students, and administration can turn things around. so how is the search going and who is the front runners.
  16. does pro baseball pitcher david weathers have anything to do with loretto high school athletics. I believe that David could be a great asset to the schools athletic program if he was called upon or was shown the respect he deserves.
  17. red chief, how are things going with hc search. i can tell you that rathbone would be a good one. he played high school ball for me when he was in high school and had a great career at carson newman. if you need a recommendation just let me know.
  18. nftc, no i am not coach pearson"s brother just a good friend. i wished that you would have paid attention to this entire thread a took notice of coach pearson's coaching background. he is not a softball coach, he has coached 5a ball at william blount, heitage, southgreene and pigeon forge. he has been a 5a offensive coord. and has a very good backgroung as far as multiple offenses goes. all i can do is wish you good luck in findingsomeone who wants to root in greene county and stay.
  19. I d not understand your reasoning mr. Beets. you can not get much deeper roots than moving back to the area of your inlaws a settling down on the farm. i believe you might be a little to quick to make a judgement on this one unless you have inside sources which could be possible.
  20. nt#1 where do you get your information. I have known coach pearson for about 5 years and i know that he has moved around a couple of times, but if you will look at the whole situation it has been good moves for his family and it has given him the opportunities to prepare himself for this opportunity. I can tell you this, he is by far not a nomad teacher, he does a great job as an educator bottom line is he can do whatever needs to be done in the classroom. Coach pearson is very cooperative and supportive of others and is a great guy to have on your faculty. Have you thought that the good lord has done nothing but prepare him for what he is about to encounter.
  21. if the parents are the ones that carry the weight then they need to put their kids first and foremost and go to the board and let them understand that they are tired of having second rate programs and that they not only want the best education for their kids but the best athletic programs because it all goes together or at least in most counties it does especially where athletics are thought of as part of the educational landscape. show me a place with good athletics and bad academics, that place does not exist, but their are plenty of good places with good academics and good athletics. greene county has good academics and they could really care less about the overall state of athletics., especially football.
  22. I understand what you are saying, and i don"t think you are being smart. what i am saying is this is the way it is going to be in greene county until you people who live up there get on your high-horse and start rainsing cain with the administration and let them know that their will be another election. from what i understand you need a new director of schools that will support athletics and until you elect some board members who are going to "buck" the current director things are not going to change. get you a little organization together and put the word out what you are up to and you will be amazed at the reaction you will get, especially if the board members care about what they are doing and do not have their own agenda's.
  23. hey "bigbluelbs36" can you elaborate a little more about this pearson guys football ability. i have been trying to persuade these guys that pearson would be the one to hire but they would rather push someone in the school.
  24. just a little tid bit for all you guys wanting to know who and when a coach is going to be hired. just as a general observance on the tssaa website almost every school advertising for a head football coach says that teaching position that is tied to coaching job is undecided at this time. so, these people are not puttting any limitations on who they can hire. if west greene is going to hire a quality coach this time why don't they do the same thing and worry about the teaching later. they will get a whole lot more interest, and as far as i know if the knew coach wins it won't matter what he teaches because he will be a hero and will be untouchable.
