  1. Opening TD drive for Milan with the QB Coleman scoring on a 3 yard run. JCS answers back with a 90 yard kickoff return for a TD by Will Johnson. 7-7 in the 1st quarter
  2. Quite prophetic, Gocart. The JCS defense put on a show tonight. A week after putting up 63 points on USJ, Huntingdon found the endzone only twice tonight against the Eagles. The first TD, on the opening drive after halftime, was aided by 3 big mental mistakes by JCS (roughing the passer after a 3rd down stop, personal foul face mask a few plays later, then an offside penalty on 4th and 3 that setup a Holder TD on 4th and 1). Huntingdon's RB rushed for nearly 200 yards, but the Eagles D came up big when it counted. Can't wait for next week against Milan. Congrats Eagles!

  4. I think South Greene is the 3rd seed in Region 1 thanks to a head to head victory over Cumberland Gap, making CG a wild card. However, West Greene also gets in from Region 1 at (5-5). I missed them in my initial analysis. They take the spot that was occupied by Adamsville. So the 5 WC teams should be: West Greene, Cumberland Gap, Sequatchie Co, Waverly, and JCS
  5. I completely missed West Greene as a (5-5) team. Yes, they are in. I believe the odd man out is Adamsville. Adamsville and JCS each had one win over a .500 team. The next tiebreaker is total wins of opponents. JCS's opponents have 53 wins compared to Adamsville's 43.
  6. By the way, as a JCS alum, congrats to the Eagles for a 2nd consecutive shutout win in a crucial game. GO EAGLES!
  7. I have the 5 Wild Card slots for Class 2A awarded as follows: Cumberland Gap (7-3) from Region 1 Sequatchie Co (6-4) from Region 3 Waverly (5-5) from Region 7 Adamsville (5-5) from Region 7 JCS (5-5) from Region 8 This comes after a review of all region standings and tiebreaker scenarios considering the results of Week 10 games. Feel free to discuss if there are disagreements. Can't wait to see the official bracket tomorrow.
  8. Papatiger, I have the wild cards as follows: Cumberland Gap (7-3) from Region 1 Sequatchie Co (6-4) from Region 3 Waverly (5-5) from Region 7 Adamsville (5-5) from Region 7 JCS (5-5) from Region 8 I don't think a 4-6 team can get in since those 3 5-5 teams remain in the wild card pool. Correct me if I am wrong.
  9. I believe the 5 wild cards are Waverly, JCS, Adamsville, Sequatchie County, and Cumberland Gap. As stated earlier, Huntingdon actually qualifies as the #3 seed from Region 7.
  10. Pay attention buster. You did correctly state that Huntingdon is playing Westwood. You also stated, incorrectly, that Westview is playing Huntingdon, when I'm sure you meant Westview is playing Peabody. You were wrong. Gocart was right. Twice. Check your original post. Back to the discussion... Anyone with a logical bone in his body will agree that the seeding of the westernmost quadrant is unfair. Under no circumstances should the four best teams in the bracket be pitted against each other in the first round. It only assures that two very good teams go home prematurely and that at least one inferior team lives to play another game by default. I sincerely hope that TSSAA re-examines the seeding procedures for next season, because the inaugural implementation of the Z-Plan is laughable.
  11. Fairview clinched an automatic spot by finishing 3rd in Region 6. Adamsville finished 4th in Region 7 and lost the wild card tiebreakers to Sweetwater and Marion Co.
  12. Region 3 - Tyner, Boyd Buchanan, Bledsoe County Region 5 - CPA, DCA, Goodpasture Region 8 - Westview, Milan, Peabody Region 9 - Carver, Westwood, Booker T. Washington The rest of the regions all have at least one automatic playoff spot up for grabs.
  13. Mt. Pleasant scored a TD but missed the 2 pt conversion. JCS 28, MTP 14
  14. JCS threw a TD on 4th down with 20 seconds left to win it. Congratulations Eagles. Good luck next week.
