Even the Highlander fans were commenting on the great intense defense Hampton put on the Landers tonight. If they keep this up, they will be TOUGH.

The Lady Dogs got another BIG win, knocking off South Greene 50-48. Hard to figure this Lady Dogs team, get a big win, play a terrible game and lose, then pull another shocker.

Hampton missed a TON of close-range shots and free throws in the first game, couldn't throw the ball in the ocean at one pace, and only lost by ten. The whole team played ball tonight, I don't think it would have made that much of a difference.

That was a great statement game. Say what you will about not having players, when these two teams played earlier, Hampton was short-handed, and several had just finished football a week earlier. Now the entire team is together, and starting to click. This was a lot of fun to watch tonight, at least from the Hampton side of the gym!

University beat Cloudland tonight, 51-49, and South Greene beat Unaka.

Man it was so good to see Coby back! You could tell he was rusty, but that'll wear off. It was also good to see the boys having fun on the court. North Greene did have size, but they had all sorts of ball-handling issues. Overall it was a good win.

The Hampton Lady Dogs surprised Grainger County at Grainger tonight in double OT, 47-46!

Hamptons D looked really good tonight, Norris played an awesome game.

That team was so much fun to follow. They were so loaded. I only missed three games that season, and didn't miss a single tourney game. Beat Erwin 5 times that year! Awesome!

Amazing how football is football everywhere in the state except when you get up here, then we apparently need help to know how to run and throw the football, according to everybody else. I wonder if Greeneville faced this when they plowed through the playoffs a couple years back.

I heard some stuff too. Apparently some Etown people aren't too fond of the idea that they aren't the only good team in Carter County.

Very good points. The secondary has been good this year, but last night they seemed to be playing somewhere else. Luckily for them Sweetwater had issues passing/receiving! I expect the pass coverage to get worked on this week. Isn't often HHS's pass coverage is as out of position as it was last night.

The defenders kept slipping and falling all night. Don't they have longer cleats for that?

The JV played great! Really loved the goal-line stand at the end of the game to preserve the shut out. Future looks good!

That 96 team was a joy to watch. They REALLY should have won that game with Webb, but those turnovers killed them. The game stats were really lopsided in Hampton's favor, if you just looked at the stats, you would have sworn the Dogs won by 3 TDs or more. Oh well. This year's team has more offensive balance than 96, but that team was really good.
