  1. I wanted to start a new thread on the district. There will be many exciting rivalries that have taken place in basketball and baseball for several years in this district on the gridiron this fall. DISTRICT 11-AA TEAMS Camden (3A) Cheatham Co. (3A) Harpeth (3A) Stewart Co. (3A) Waverly Central (3A) Creek Wood (4A) Montgomery Central (4A)
  2. My man ksgovols almost had it right /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> DISTRICT STANDINGS 1.) Creek Wood (6-1) 1.) Sycamore (6-1) 3.) Fairview (5-3) 4.) Harpeth (4-3) 5.) Montgomery Central (4-4) 6.) Waverly Central (3-4) 7.) Stewart Co. (2-7) 8.) Cheatham Co. (0-7) Creek Wood beat Sycamore in the earlier meeting. The two teams play one another again tonight at Creek Wood. Fairview sits in third but they have lost home games against Sycamore, Creek Wood, and Harpeth. If they don't take care of business against Waverly then they are bound for the #4 vs #5 opening round game. Harpeth split with Waverly Central. Montgomery Central split with Waverly Central. Harpeth and Montgomery Central play the first of their two critical matchups tonight at Harpeth. Any of the trio of Harpeth, Waverly and Montgomery Central could finish as high as #3 and as low as #6 in the district standings. Stewart Co. and Cheatham Co. are dead-locked at 7 losses each. If the Rebels win the rematch against the Cubs then they will have completed the season sweep and be locked in the #7 spot in the district. If the Cubs beat Stewart in the rematch and earn a split then they could have an outside shot at the #7 seed if they can get someone else in the district and also have Stewart Co. not pull anymore upsets the rest of the way (i.e. Harpeth). I have seen every team play and I must say that on a given night any one of 6 teams could be the best team in the district. Also teams can't sleep on Stewart Co. when they are playing them in Dover. Cheatham Co. plays extremely hard and I wouldn't be shocked to see them shock someone before the season ends.
  3. 1.) Creek Wood (6-1) 2.) Sycamore (5-1) 3.) Harpeth (4-2) 4.) Fairview (4-3) 5.) Montgomery Central (3-4) 6.) Waverly Central (2-4) 7.) Stewart Co. (2-5) 8.) Cheatham Co. (0-6) Creek Wood is in a great position to really put the rest of the district in their rear view mirrors. They beat Sycamore earlier this season and the two teams meet again on Tuesday night at Creek Wood. Sycamore did win a thriller over Harpeth earlier in the year and with a win oer Creek Wood they would put themselves in the driver's seat. Harpeth is a team that is confusing. They have recently won games at Creek Wood and at Fairview and they also lost by just a point at Sycamore however they are also a team that lost by 13 at Stewart Co. Fairview has struggled against the top teams in the district losing to all of them at home. If the Jackets want to host a first round district game then they'd better take care of business aganst the bottom feeders in the district. Montgomery Central got swept by Fairview and that combined with an overtime loss at Creek Wood is hurting their chances of hosting in the opening round of the district tourney. The Indians have got a split with Waverly and already swept Cheatham Co. Their matchups with Stewart Co. are going to be huge in their seeding hopes. Waverly has snuck back into the potential hosting of a district opening round game conversation. The split with Montgomery Central was a must and their games with Fairview will be critical. Stewart Co. got huge wins over Cheatham Co. and Harpeth last week but fell for the second time to Sycamore. The Rebels havebig matchups looming with both Fairview and Montgomery Central to close out this week. Cheatham Co. is stil searching for a victory in the district. They are an emotional team right now and Friday's game against arch rival Sycamore promises to be a battle. 1.) Creek Wood (6-1) 2.) Sycamore (5-1) 3.) Harpeth (4-2) 4.) Fairview (4-3) 5.) 4. Cheatham Co. has made a living in the past of beating Creek Wood when the Red Hawks have been HUGE favorites to "lower the boom" on the Cubs. B-E-W-A-R-E!!!! Waverly will beat Montgomery Central if they play like they are capable of doing. They lost a pair of heartbreakers last week against Harpeth & Sycamore. I look for them to break out sometime. Sycamore has struggled in the past against Stewart Co. The meeting earlier this season was a close battle. I am picking Sycamore to win at home but I wouldn't assume that they are going to win by a large margain. Fairview will beat Harpeth at home tonight. The Jackets are a quality team this year and Harpeth has struggled to beat quality teams on the road. I think the Indians are the better team but something tells me to take the Yellow Jackets at home in what is sure to be a thriller.
  5. Harpeth is going to roll over Stewart Co. They always seem to have luck against the Rebels. Fairview will suprise Creek Wood tonight. I like the Jackets at home in a close battle. Sycamore will beat Waverly in a barn burner tonight in Pleasant View. Look for this one to go to the final posessions. Cheatham Co. will get a win tonight against a Montgomery Central team that seems to be floundering as the new year has arrived. District 11-AA Standings (MY PREDICTION) After Tonight's Games 1.) Fairview (5-1) 2.) Sycamore (4-1) 3.) Harpeth (4-1) 4.) Creek Wood (3-2) 5.) Montgomery Central (2-3) 6.) Cheatham Co. (1-4): TIE 6.) Waverly Central (1-4): TIE 8.) Stewart Co. (1-5) Tomorrow night's Montgomery Central-Creek Wood game is going to be a huge one as far as a possible home court district opener goes. Montgomery Central has already gotten wins over both Waverly & Cheatham and I like their chances to get a pair against Stewart Co. At least earning a split with as many teams as possible in the district makes a huge difference on that final night when the seedings for the tournament are set in stone.
  6. 2008-2009 District 11-AA Standings Creek Wood (3-1) Sycamore (3-1) Fairview (3-1) Montgomery Central (2-1) Harpeth (2-1) Waverly Central (1-2) Cheatham Co. (0-3) Stewart Co. 7. tuesday night starts the run to the district title for every team in the district but there can only be one winner in the end. harpeth plays waverly in a game featuring two teams that are just starting to play their best ball of the year. stewart co. plays cheatham co. in a game between two teams that desperately need a victory. fairview and montgomery central meet in a matchup of teams that want to prove they are contenders in the district and not just early season pretenders. should make for a great night of district battles!
  8. have either of these pitiful 2 named a head coach yet
  9. 1.) Creek Wood (3-0) 2.) Sycamore (3-1) 3.) Fairview (2-1) 4.) Montgomery Central (2-1) 5.) Harpeth (1-1) 6.) Waverly (1-2) 7.) Cheatham Co. (0-3) 7.) Stewart Co. (0-3) creek wood seems to be the best team in the district early on in this season. they have already won at sycamore and also they have beaten a solid greenbrier team twice. sycamore had a brutal non district schedule and took their beatings against cpa, maplewood, and northeast (x2). since district play began they have been solid and have two nice wins over fairview and harpeth. fairview played a weak non-district schedule and they gained some good confidence because of it. outside of sycamore they have been flawless in district play. the win over montgomery central was a very good win for them. montgomery central is improved. they still struggled out of district against teams like rossview but in the district they have thus far exceeded all expectations. the win over waverly made many take notice. harpeth has played the likes of station camp and livingston academy out of the district. they fell in a tight road game at sycamore but rebounded to even their mark at home over cheatham co. with their early start the jury is still out on how they fare when compared to past harpeth teams. waverly imo has been disappointing thus far this season. they lost to an inferior montgomery central team and then got hammered by creek wood. they are my pick to turn it around and get rolling after christmas but i am not very confident in that pick. stewart and cheatham appear to be fighting to avoid the cellar at this point. both have undergone coaching changes and both are rebuilding. the second half will be interesting to see how they do in terms of catching up to the rest of the district.
  10. cant wait to see who montgomery central hires as head coach
  11. when will the new boards format be determined?
  12. he is a solid player that can run it and throw it as well. he has a bright future. in the district next year he and bo wallace from giles will be the top two offensive players in the district. look for him to shine in his second year under scharsch. having xavier lee back as his top receiver will be a huge plus.
  13. vince lombardi, john madden, chuck noll, bill walsh, and jimmy johnson would all struggle to win at macon county (tn) high school because it is a place where uneducated fans/parents and a totally clueless school system run things. besides that the players are not great athletes anyway!
  14. well i am mentioning a statement of fact concerning one of your many fans that are simply not educated. at least catholic, david lipscomb, and fulton won state titles while they could because that 3 year destruction would be it...........wait a minute! they did win state titles during that 3 year span of time. lol
  15. #10 shaun montgomery & #78 tanner owen from cheatham county
  16. like most white house fans you speak with no knowledge when you post. boone apparently didnt win enough battles in that game because his team lost and got the football ran down their throats in the process. i would rather have hood any day than boone. brunetti, halstead, williams, trapp, cook, and hollinsworth as a collective group voted that boone was not an elite player from within their own region. the all-region team does not lie!
  17. dont even respond to larry because like most white house fans he speaks with absolutely zero knowledge about anything on here!
  18. they also play glencliff, northeast, and east literature for their other non-district games. creekwood and cheatham are correct. the district games are wh, macon, greenbriar, westmoreland, and goodpasture. they have to beat 2 of the 3 in macon, greenbriar, and white house to be able to qualify for the postseason.
  19. this is why giles is going to be a very sexy pick to win 4a next year. david lipscomb will not have the luxury of playing them in the regular season game before they meet up in the playoffs and giles is going to have much more returning players than will the mustangs. if o'connor doesnt flee to lincoln county anytime soon i believe he gets a ring at giles county. they are not going to be tested at all in the district next year.
  20. cheatham played bad and montgomery central played great with the exception being about a 3 minute stretch from the middle to last few moments of the contest. bkballer you need to get your facts straight. montgomery central cant play much better than they did the other night. outside of hyatt and daniel they are not very good at all. jimmy young is still a psycho on the bench! cheatham will win the rematch down the road when the 2 meet again. look for the cubs to get on track tonight at fairview.
  21. he is not all region which means that the coaches that coach against his team were not impressed with him at all. you can be all state but not all region. those all state and mr football ballots are usually filled out by people in the media who coaches select because they simply choose not to waste their time doing it. with that in mind people look at boone and see a 300+ lbs. preseason pick and say "let's name him mr. football" without even having a clue as to what they are doing. as far as region 4 coaches are concerned blaine boone was 2nd team not so good this past season. he was just a fat mess to those guys plain and simple!
  22. could you please put the quote of white house is gonna destroy everyone for the next 3 years in the book. that prophecy that was made prior to the 2006 season went over very well. 1 region title and 0 state titles. what a path of destruction over those 3 years lol.
  23. who all does alcoa return next year? robinson, toney, warren, tyson, hambrick, hopkey, brodus, etc. who is going to be quarterback? talent? with maryville moving up in classification their chances of continuing the run of dominance just got much smaller. alcoa has won 5 in a row and chances are that it could be 6 straight this time next year.
  24. #72 from pearl-cohn wore gaines out when the two teams met in the playoffs last year. the rushing stats from that game tell the story. after the first series wh went nowhere behind gaines and boone.
