  1. The main difference is w/o Tuck and Moody in there the defense really is not as good as it was last year but it is still pretty good. They are probably a little better offensively than last year though.....
  2. I definitely agree w/ you on this one. Also, MP87, when I stated the team from a year b/4 I was referring to the 2004 team as in the year b/4 mTp and JBS had ever played. The 2004 is the best mTp team that I have ever seen play and I didnt like the fact that they had to beat CPA and then turn right around and have to beat DCA the next week (correct me if I am wrong). I am not a fan of the privates b/c I just feel that they have an unfair advantge.....
  3. The main difference in that JBS game than any other time mTp will ever play them is that Clay Head was playing QB and he had the ability to will them to a win. I believe out of the last 3 years the 2005 teams were the best JBS/mTp teams in this recent series..... An even better mTp team was the team that went 10-0 the prior season w/ Theo Fenessy (not sure on spelling) and that other guy they had, his brother maybe. I agree w/ MP87 on this fact though (imagine that) DCA that year just had an amzing team which is why they beat mTp. This is just my opinion though, how do you think they compare MP87?
  4. Trust me when I tell you that mTp does have the talent that SP has, but I will agree w/ you on that SP would beat them b/c they do not get the maximum use out of all of their athletes. All they do is line up in shotgun and let Marco pick where he wants to go. Most of the mTp posters constantly preach that if "it aint broke dont fix it" and all that mess. I am not trying to contradict you bro but mTp is very talented athletically just as I am sure SP is but I garantee that the difference is SP gets maximum use out of all of their weapons and not just 1 guy.....
  5. It took me awhile to get these stats so I am gonna periodically bump this thread..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. Well if that is the case I am not going to count on seeing you at the game. Its all good though, the family thing is the more important. Either way if Mckenzie wins next week, I plan on making it out there for the semis regardless of who it is.....
  7. But the lack there of has prevented them from getting further than that. They are a very good and talented team but MP63 is right, they could be oh so much better if they maximized the potential of their athletes. Everybody says "well it is working" and well it has, however, you should be looking down the road when the athletes on the other side are close to the ones on your side in ability.....
  8. All right I have found the stats that I was looking for. Here are his final stats in 1991 which is the year he won Mr.Football in 1A..... Curtis Woodard: 190 carries for 2,240 yards rushing and 38 TDs, his average per carry was just under 13 yards That year against: Clarksville Academy: 212 yards and 3 TDs (44,42,& 95 yard runs) on 5 carries Montgomery Central: 323 yards and 8 TDs (11,27,27,33,29,11,40,& 37) on 22 carries Friedship Christian: 340 yards and 5 TDs all in the 1st half (46,80,74,36,& 37) on 9 carries (37 yards a carry) I went to the Robertson Co. archives and got all of this info and made coppies of the clippings form each of these games. I tried to scan and post the clippings but they just did not show up well at all so I just had to type them in. Pretty amazing stats and worth looking at for all who have not heard of and/or seen this guy play.....
  9. Yeah Cascade11 I agree, it is nice when someone "thinks outside the box" instead of completely blasting any opinion you may have. I know it may be hard to come to this game considering you would rather have your team playing, but trust me, I was fortunate to make to the 1st meeting b/t these 2 teams and it is worth making the trip just for the football fan in you. I would like to meet you, Trey, and MP63 as well.
  10. I really apreciate that you can see the trend bro; all MP87 talks about is that they have won up to this point but will not accept that further down the line they will have to be able to do more scheme wise than what they are doing now to be sucessful. I will also say regardless if they beat JBS or not, if they had an offensive scheme similar to JBS, they would be lights-out on offense.....
  11. Great post MP63, you are exactly right whether MPHSTIGERS87 wants to believe it or not. They may not meet a team in the rest of the play-offs w/ as good as athletes as them, but if they do, they will be hard pressed to win w/ the shceme they have now.....
  12. Its not a horrible scheme, just not the best for this team. The reason they keep advancing is b/c of their athletic ability, not the scheme. I know it is pointless to get you to understand what I am saying so I will stop wasting my time trying to reason w/ you.....
  13. Cascade11, this is his way of saying that you have a good point. Do not expect him to give you any credit or clearly state that he may be wrong. Also as I am sure you have noticed, it is pointless to try and reason w/ him b/c he clearly is not capable of that.....
  14. Like I told you b/4, regardless if they are advancing or not, they are not using all of their athletes to their maximum potential. They are advancing b/c of their athletic ability more so than their scheme. Even someone on your side can see it, and you say he is holding a grudge b/c he doesnt agree w/ you. I think I can see how you operate now.....
  15. I agree w/ you; they are advancing in large part b/c of their talent. I dont feel that all of that athletic ability is being used to its maximum potential. Having said that though, if they make it to state and win the gold ball, then it doesnt really matter.....
  16. Stopping Marco is definitely much harder said than done. Having said that though, if I was coming up w/ a game-plan against mTp, I would make sure that my guys did not go for any pitches or fakes at all and hit Marco everytime, maybe 2-3 guys on Marco and 1 on the pitch man. Also, on passes I would play containinment and try to get him to throw the ball. If we still lost b/c someone else stepped up and had a big nite or Marco beat us w/ his arm then so be it, but I would try to do everything in my power to make sure he did not beat us w/ his legs. Its like I said though, much easier said than done.....
  17. Yeah I agree, this will be a hard one to pick but I feel that both teams will score in the mid-20s to the mid-30s. I will wait until later in the week to give a score. I cant wait until next Friday though, I will definitely be there at the dungeon for what should be a great game.....
  18. I am not so sure I believe that there are not several backs in the country who have rushed for over 2700 or more yards.....
  19. You need to come to the realization that WH made it look like the worst game of the season.....
  20. Dont forget the fumble too, and also they were driving to score on all of those turn-overs. So really it could have very well been 35-7 at the half. We can "if" this and "if" that all we want, JBS was clearly the better team. I would like to give props to Nathan Bell though, the kid ran hard and he had some wheels. This team should be a serious region contender next year if they are not losing too much.....
  21. That would be me; I predicted that Cascade would win and they did not so the crow is tasting wonderful..... On the other hand though I get to see another JBS vs. mTp classic and if it measures up to their 1st 2 meetings then it will be well worth eating crow for..... Congrats to mTp and JBS for 2 impressive wins.....
  22. Just a reminder to Moto from JBS to look for any newspaper clippings w/ any of Woodards stats the season he won Mr.Football. I apreciate it bro.....
  23. Ok I believe I didnt count his stats from last game, but they are still impressive either way.....
