  1. this is ridiculous that you and noles are going on such a soapbox. THEY ARE SOPHOMORES. geez. give it time. if the guys are as good as noles states, he'll get his recognition... in a year or two! i know every fan wants to see their player in the news/paper/internet all the time, but you cant honestly expect a sophomore to get such recognition besides a blurb or two. of course there are going to be overrated and underrated players. if you really have it down to a science, make your own recruiting site. sounds like you have some sort of grudge. get over the maryville/alcoa thing. oh, what about the kid from davidson who had one one of the highest rushing totals in the nation??!?!? he was a sophomore right?
  2. thanks pepvol, you have displayed great class in handling an undoubtedly tough loss. i think most of the hillsboro fans (myself included) have ridden off in the sunset to a land of bliss after this great victory. theres not much incentive to talk about it on coacht! oh, gordon got an in-home visit from kiffin the other day!
  3. dunno that i could have put it any better. it was a beautiful evening. something felt right, from the opening kickoff and throughout the game. even when things were tied up with maryville driving, for some reason, i didnt feel as though losing was an option. it felt incredible to pull this one off. (for hhs) it was a perfect ending to this rivalry and 4A chapter. maryville has caused hillsboro a tremendous amount of grief for some VERY good hillsboro teams in the past. hhs has a tremendous amount of respect for maryville, and this was oh so sweet. honestly, i have had my doubts about blade the past few years, but he coached an amazing game with a superb gameplan. with a backup qb, blade did not ask perry to do too much. perry is not the downfield threat like young, and blade coached to perry's strengths (got him moving around the pocket, quick reads, short routes). the passing game wasnt great but it was effective. perry played admirably, i hope hes doing okay. congratulations maryville on a great season . congratulations to hillsboro, state champs! man, this feels good.
  4. yep. and yea, i laughed when he made that buffalo bill comment. not because it was clever, but they have the same problem! and its not even in the championship game!
  5. why dont you ignore him and control your anger? thats a great way to get this thread closed.
  6. haha yea yea yea, just for perspective, hillsboro beat you after the starting qb went down 3 plays into the game. nonetheless, 3 plays was enough to complete a 71-yd td pass. who knows how bad it might have been if GY would have played the whole game...
  7. speaking of qbs named young, has anyone heard any updates on greg young's status? i never really heard anything other than he was injured, showed up to the HC game a little late, and was puzzled by his absence. keith perry admirably led the team to victory, and im sure he'll be ready to go if GY cannot.
  8. hillsboro runs a spread offense, production on the season is nearly 50/50 run-pass.
  9. beating the HC fans err football team always feels great! i was really surprised with the unfolding of the game last night, expected more from HC given everything i heard about them. teague was great. i expected allen to have success running on a smaller HHS defense, not the case. i dont even know who the third head on the monster was supposed to be, but i didnt see him. this was definitely a one-man team as opposed to a three-headed monster. teague's return at the end of the game showed great heart, in not giving up. im sure he has a bright future ahead of him. good job burros. one final chance to take down maryville, it shouldnt be any other way. 4th times a charm!
  10. its a shame the HC fans didnt see any class from the hhs fans, its also a shame i didnt get to see the 3 headed monster, thats the one incentive i had to watching hhs winning like they undoubtedly would. sure the score seems close but HC failed their duty in making this a good close game tonight.
  11. bout to start the pregame festivities.. prepare for a cold evening j dub
  12. your name is a joke! facts only? please, give me a break. you have made the inherent factual flaw of crossing facts with opinions! as if coach blade doesnt deserve any credit? no one deserves a coaching edge over gaddis? that is an indefensible position? this post my friend, is riddled with ignorance. good one, OpinionsOnly!
  13. trader joe's replaced wild oats. whole foods is still pretty new, a block or 2 down the street. nonetheless, they are all the same type of trendy, "organic" type groceries... theyre all the same to me. im still a fan of kroger, lighter on the wallet.
  14. well congratulations for having that knowledge, and yes, that was a little while ago. i was simply responding to your fellow fans that asked. as for the christmas trees out front, im not sure. someone in nashvile right now should be able to answer that. though, i dont think it is our sale, someone/organization uses/rents the convenient location, if im not mistaken. crutch is a senior
  15. i can tell i will enjoy reading your posts! 42-7 haha. i suppose skewed optimism never hurt anyone. oh, how bad did you predict the score would be against melrose? 75-0?
