  1. Let's get real about Eller...they were a .500 ballclub with him and when he was transferred they went on a 15 game winning streak. Does that not speak volumns about what went on...and the guy who replaced him on an interim basis was a football coach for gosh sakes...geez-o-pete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Hey Runt, you back to coach basketball at that little old FOOTBALL school you are at now? We miss your sideline antics over here in Chatt town.
  3. Jodie and Mitch just flat out coached this Johnson "dude"...someone from the TSSAA needs to conduct a sportsmanship clinic in the Memphis City Schools system. Do they hold their coaches accountable? Oh well nobody cares about Memphis teams anyway.
  4. Couldn't win at Marshall Co? With that talent...this guy is in the "chopper" now isn't he? Where is Gardner at now?
  5. Where was he last year? What is his record?
  6. 2 othere have been contacted. It seems they are looking for alternatives.
  7. Eldridge did a goo job and it was nice to see the eastern part of the state be able to win one.
  8. Brian Dickerson and Gary Long were both quality players. Word is Leroy wants this job so bad he is willing to sell his soul. I just hope he doesn't put his eggs in this basket. I just don't think he is "Tyner material".
  9. In all fairness to Jimmy he was a great "players" coach. Steve was a really good practice and bench coach but he didn't seem to "connect" to the kids like Jimmy did. I think had Thompson stayed he would have taken the program to the top but we will never know that. I do know there was constant friction between the two but I guess that was to be expected.
  10. Leroy did a good job at City and Howard but I don't believe he would be a good fit at Tyner. The school has gone in a different direction and I don't believe the principal there would hire him. Just my opinion.
  11. They have had the succesor for that job picked when he was 5 years old. They appoint coaches there much like the ancient Hebrews appointed kings.
  12. Bill would be a good choice and a good fit at Soddy.
  13. He is a good coach and knows the game. Would be a good choice if he even shows interest in the job. Supposedly he left because he couldn't get along with Jimmy being at the school. Developed the young kids and Jimmy stepped back in and had success with them.
  14. I thought their fan support was horrible RR and it was not THAT far to come. As you said had it been football the roads would have been clogged and motel rooms full as far away as Columbia. You should not be shocked about the win...that was a quality ball club with TALENT at Maryville. Reminded me of WC in 1999 except this team was much better. That white kid could shoot the lights out and the big boys were agile......no fluke here dude!
  15. How is this being taken in Maryville. Is it as big as football?
  16. None are really great jobs but Soddy could be the best of them. I hear Ootlewah will look outside the program. What about Tyner?
  17. There you go again trying to damper anoter team's victory. Why don't you just congratulate Rossview on a well deserved victory. Who knows they might have won by more if this guy had been healthy.
  18. This is one of those womb to tomb SC guys so unless it is to go to Gordonsville or one of the grade schools or if he just quits I would say this is a rumor only.
  19. Will they be a contender anytime soon or has the talent pool run dry?
  20. Just a question. Does this guy not have any assistants in the program? If so are they quality basketball people or just "friends of the program"? Would any one of them be potential head coaching material?
  21. No.....stupidity and imorality are the roots of all evil.
  22. Been in SC gym many times and have only seen one picture of a state tournament team. How many times did they go in the 90's? I think Derward Vaughn and Roy Sewell were hands down the best coaches ever in this area. Joe Halfacre too. Only time I saw SC with that Ashe guy coaching was when he had the big boy that was at UT for awhile. I was never impressed with the way he used him.
  23. Imallin you always seem to be an expert on SC ball. How many years have you watched teams play? What was your favorite. How many coaches you seen there? What was the bestever team in old 8AA of which I was a huge fan.
  24. Ever made it past the first round of the region? Who did their current coach get his style from?
  25. The guy at Lebanon is not the best coach in the world but he is more solid that the guy at Riverdale. In the end I think he will outdo Riverdale down the stretch.
