  1. That's utterly ridiculous. No way a public school pays money to get rid of a coach. They just fire them. There's no coaching contract it's year to year.
  2. His problem at Tyner was with former coach Jim Dillard. Long story there.2 prima donnas. I don't know much about Smith Co but this new coach must have potential for them to pass on Coach T if he was interested.
  3. Dude I would drive from Lookout Valley to watch Coach T again.
  4. I don't know much about this school but yeah know about the coach. Watched his Tyner teams in Chattanooga. Ran an exciting system. Probably wouldn't have left if the old coach wasn't hanging around undermining him. Went to the south part of MS around Hattiesburg and had 4 or 5 state teams. Good coach and motivator.
  5. Their feeder programs and travel ball is second to none...
  6. Different kind of coach than Dillard man. Yes I would probably say he left because of Dillard's conniving. I don't think he would have left his young boys he developed otherwise. It was a difficult situation for the man but Jimmy D was a legend at Tyner. Hard to overcome.
  7. Dillard retired in Florida I think. Coach Thompson retired in Mississippi...6 states...3 District COY... South Mississippi HS HOF.
  8. I'm just telling the Truth... they will be humbled very quickly. I'm not discounting getting to the Glass House but everyone knows CC isn't a Top 8 team in 4A...I would doubt a Top 20 team either. Once again what was Taylor's record for his 1st tenure?
  9. They are about to be slapped back to reality I think. Weak district and region...played every game in their gym. Williams put this team together... Taylor rode his coattails What was Taylor's record for his previous tenure?
  10. I'm sure knowing old Roy the talent ran out.
  11. Thoughts? Pretty good coach. Brentwood certainly a better situation.
  12. Let's not forget Memphis Hillcrest battled them 4 times during the season...all games decided by single digits. Those 2 were the best in AAA in those days.
  13. It opens it up to hire an older more established coach that's retired and has no interest in teaching...or probably never did. Plus since most only have PE it saves trying to open a teaching slot. Plus coaches can devote their time entirely to running the program and not slugging through 6 classes.
  14. Goes to Lebanon. The Porter girl is the difference.
  15. Considering he stabbed Eggleston in the back I think it only fitting he thank him for his help.
  16. I haven't seen old ruppsrunt on here in quite a while.
  17. He had 5 state teams in Mississippi I think. Maybe coached girls in Kentucky.
  18. So much idiocy concerning these mask edicts. Players up in each other's faces and then come back to the bench and put masks on.
  19. They have had 2 #HOF coaches in Jimmy Dillard and Steve Thompson. Dillard actually built the program. Thompson came in after Dillard stepped down and had some limited success in a rebuilding era.. I actually think he could have done well there but left because the sentiment understandably wasn't with him. Dillard took it back over and had success.
  20. Curious about this job...no ties to the school at all...not a fan. Is there an assistant coach there named George L. Bennett at Blackman? Has he applied for this position?
  21. So what if a family member or staff has it. Folks I hate media... despise liberal Communist.
  22. Future of program...it's no secret the talent is there...too much to take a early exit.
