  1. I don't get how you say that. They have some very good talent, albeit young talent, but it's not like nothing was expected from them. Another thought: this is a 5-team race for the district, not 3. The 5th-place team (FRA) is only 2 games back and has played MLK tough at home (and beat them on the road), and lost to Pearl-Cohn in OT after making a 15-point comeback in the 4th quarter in the past week. IMO, the district is up for grabs - DL, CPA, MLK, Pearl-Cohn and FRA have a legit shot.
  2. Never heard of this happening... weird.
  3. Don't know if the rule was changed, but a center in my district has a tattoo on his arm and I believe he had it covered when we played them last year.
  4. I reserved my prediction unitl now, but here it is: FRA by 5.
  5. And you talking about the Region Final game? That whole third quarter, CPA held the ball the entire quarter. Probably the hardest game to watch that I've ever seen...
  6. This is a huge game in 9AA, as FRA (11-1, 2-0 9AA) travels to play CPA (13-4, 2-1 9AA) in a district rivalry game on Friday. Any thoughts or predictions? CPA is very talented but relatively inexperienced compared to the older FRA lineup (four seniors, one junior). This should tell a lot about the two teams.
  7. He went to Davidson Academy for last season, not Ensworth.
  8. No, the score was FRA 53, Lawrence Co. 40. Source: http://preps.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...2&story_id= Next time, when you correct someone, make sure you actually get it right
  9. I stopped by Kroger today and they only had the old issue...
  10. That stinks for the kid, I feel really bad for him. My team played Independence early this season and Baugh was probably the main reason they beat us. This may be the skeptic in me, but I don't believe a mensicus tear in a knee should end a season at this point. I had a teammate last year who tore his in the middle of the football season and came back in time for basketball. So maybe they're's still hope.
  11. Um, CPA was up 29 after three quarters in the DCA game. How many of those bad calls were there? I am anything but a fan of CPA and its sports programs, like I said before, but you are pathetic.
  12. Thanks for the analysis on Pearl Cohn, PGwithnoPT. Anyone else have preliminary rankings of the district?
  13. Did anyone read the article on Maddux in The City Paper? This may seem trivial, but the fact that he went on the court to knock a ball out from being wedged in the rim made me irritated. Why not let a player do that? It does make it seem that he cares a lot about himself...
  14. Actually, Zeke left CPA last year, I think for a drug issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  15. Has anyone here seen Pearl Cohn play? I know about Rashad Mason in the post, but I basically have no knowledge of the other players on their team. If someone could give a scouting report on them or something, I would appreciate it.
  16. Look, I'm not a CPA supporter by any means, but that's a cheap shot. Do you have any evidence on him getting paid, or is that coming from your blatant bias towards Maddux?
  17. Those are pretty good rankings. Lipscomb has to be the favorite right now, especially with that trio of scorers. I haven't seen Pearl-Cohn play yet, but from what I've heard, they could be the most talented team in 9AA. I'd put CPA ahead of FRA right now, considering that FRA has not dominated its competition they way CPA has (and they've played a lot of the same teams thus far). The bottom three are accurate as of now. Let me say this: I think this district is one of, if not the, best in AA.
  18. I'm not sure you can see a team who only has 2 wins at this point in the season. Who in 9AA would you rank Hume-Fogg ahead of?
  19. Throw the records out the window on this one, this is a rivalry district game. FRA has started hot, but other than Independence and maybe DCA, who have they played? Goodpasture and MLK are big names, but they haven't proved anything this season. Ezell seems to be having problems with a 2-4 record and big losses to MBA and LaVergne, but who knows how they will come out on Friday. FRA has to be the favorite, though.
  20. How is that post bashing anyone? He just stated the fact. Robinson did score 64 against Memphis Kirby in three quarters, but his team still lost. I haven't seen what the guy wrote before, but based purely on that post, he said nothing derogatory.
