    IMAC 2008

I forgot all about last years' District game. Then again Lance can only see into the future. Thanks for another great race IMAC. The big question is can we send someone to Spring Fling. Long way to go before then though. Put me down for Baked Potato and Ranch Dressing too.

Greeneville at Morristown East The Lady Devils travel to Morristown to play the red hot Lady Hurricanes of Morristown East. East comes off a 17 hit ??“ 13 run outing against a quality Elizabethton team. Bats heating up and pitching settling in - The IBUS has awakened for tournament run. Good year Lady Devils, but too much heat today ??“ Lance??™s Loser: Greeneville. Cherokee at Morristown West IMAC game of the day ??“ game of the week ??“ heck, game of the year Morristown West hosts the Lady Chiefs today in another IMAC end of season epic battle. Will Trojans hang on to #1 seed or is it another 3-way finish that has become the conference norm? Morristown West has demonstrated some vulnerability as of late, losing 3 of their last 4. These are losses to quality opponents, but at a time that the Lady Trojans have been less than healthy. Lady Trojans still trying to get back on their feet after expending much energy during Eastman victory run two weeks ago. The Lady Chiefs come in fresh from a nice win over a very good Rutledge team finding a way to score 3 runs off tough pitching which is about all Gilbert needs to slam the door. I still like the Trojans in this one. It seems to have been forever since Cherokee has managed a win vs. the Trojans, and the Trojans can certainly claim to have the Chiefs number; HOWEVER, the only number that has meaning today is the team that has the highest run total. It is not the time to be sputtering, and the Lady Trojans suddenly don??™t seem to have the swagger that inflicts fear in the heart of their opponent. Lance??™s Loser: Morristown West STATMAN ??“ Medium rare ??“ come on now. Then again, I guess you will take some Trojan blood anyway you can get it MWTFAN ??“ put me down for Medium well and maybe a slice of grilled pineapple on the side.

I spend too much time out of town. If you have a job for me mwtfan - then I can chatter more. Maybe I need full time job chattering. I have a big mouth and I'm full of crap.

Great call Lance - you are the man. Down to the exact number of runs. You are back baby - we've been missing you.Great call Lance - you are the man. Down to the exact number of runs. You are back baby - we've been missing you. Why thank you Lance. All is quiet on IMAC thread - tension is mounting.

Morristown West at Greeneville Lady Trojans (tired from weekend prosperity) travels to Gville to battle the Greene Devils (also tired from weekend properity). The only "green" here today is Devil envy of Trojan offense. Lance's Loser: Greeneville Morristown East at Jefferson Canes coming off lackluster performance againt Nicole Ball and the cocke County Lady Red (of course due much impart to Ball's performance - great job - needed a little more help). Big question today is whether Canes can take the next step to keep the pressure squarely on the Trojans (to see if it is truly the year of the IBUS). Jefferson still trying to decide which pitcher is mound option one (as I indicated early in the season). Try them both at this point and see who gives you the best chance if third opportunity presents itself. Patriots are dangerous and capable; furthermore, East has some history of playing flat when the heat isn't on, but if Taylor pitches like game vs West - and if East can score a couple of runs - the only thing flat in Dumpling Valley will be the Patriot 2008 baloon. Lance's Loser: Patriots

Gabe is a warrior - I hope she is well soon along with Johnson. What do you mean responded - did the amazing Lance not say it was the year of the IBUS (lol). I missed your steak mwtfan, but the salad bar was terrific.

mwtfan - How is Gabe McKinney. I saw knee brace and heard she had strained it. She is a battler though. If it was broke in half - she would play.

THIS JUST IN - HUGE UPDATE ON THE WEST SITUATION Coach Glasscock arrived in Nashville today at 8:30 for a meeting with TSSAA officials. After coffee and donuts, all unanimously agreed that it was indeed April 1.

ilovemotownwest - what do you mean lame. If nothing else, I highly entertain myself. IMAC game of the day Jefferson at Cocke County The Lady Red of Cocke County try to dry out from rain-fest weekend of softball. After a great showing, they proved that not only are they improved in softball - they are a great group of line dancers (so well in fact that they brought rain for most of the weekend). But they still aint the Lady Chiefs, so no rain today and will have to play their best against an up and down Jefferson team. But this aint popcorn Lady Pats, so strap in on for a good one in the land of chicken.

    IMAC 2008

Big news - Caple has been ruled ineligible due to insufficient Tennessee credits. It seems that the High School equivalency in on the Peterson schedule in Florida, thus making her 2 credits shy of elgibility. TSSAA has ruled today, that West must indeed forfeit all contest held prior to today. Morristown West has two days to protest the ruling, but under rule 6.4.b, it is very clear. Unfortunate break for Trojan fans and certainly turns the IMAC on it's head. Fill us in mwtfan -- you are holding out. Another crazy for today, it is rumored that Jefferson freshman Leon walked off the field after their last game stating that she wanted to spend more time with her new boyfriend and "it just isn't worth all the time". Unbelievable.

Cocke County at Cherokee The Lady Red fighting chickens will head to Rogersville and try to sneak up on Gilbert and company. Not only do the Chiefs have an ear to the ground listening for their arrival ??“ they love chicken. Lady Red improved but still not ready for this (can't score on Gilbert). Lance??™s Loser: Cocke County Jefferson at Morristown East Lady Patriots travel to Morristown to find out which of these teams is pretendor or contender. East fresh off emotional loss with errors abounding has little time to shore up issues to take on a quality Patriot team. Jeff and East match up well and tote similar defensive talent and equal number of offensive threats. Difference today is Taylor as she has the slight advantage ??“ unless Canes ???drop the ball???. Lance??™s Loser: Jefferson

    IMAC 2008

Here is the Lance version. East had put 5 straight runs on the Trojans (it was pucker time baby). Lance will be correct -- until the missing batters box was complained about and the game stopped. This point is interesting. It has been said that the argument began from a West fan for which the coach ultimately complained. Regardless - umpire stops the game and decides that batters box needs to be redrawn and wants chalk. Field doesn't belong to school so have to stop game to contact recreation department to get chalk on the way. East coach's argued that he just needed to draw a box and play. It hadn't been a problem for 5 innings. Anyway - 15 to 20 minutes later (old mo had left the building) he draws the box in (as suggested 15 minutes earlier) and then box gets redrawn in between inning. Umpire completely blew that one especially if pushed around by fan not to mention the coach. Place is rocking - 4 hitter in box and go ahead run at second. Batter pops up and inning is over. IF WEST COACH got away with it - stroke of genius. Umpire should not control the flow of the game right there. Anyway - following inning - I think two outs with runners at second and third and Heffner hitting. She did what she does best - sticks a dagger in your heart. Not sure they were pitching to Heffner but she don't need a strike to get the bat on the ball - awesome hit Nut. Umpire didn't decide the game, but interupted the flow. It was pucker time at Challenger and the umpire was the first to cave (lol). No home cooking for East this night. Great game. Trojan middle line up was awesome. 6 or 7 errors by Canes - can't win the IMAC with that. DZ - MWTFAN: Someone help me. My first missed prediction in over 3 years. I'm shaken; however, I did say the Trojans should win, but I said it was the year of the IBUS. Maybe I was just confused -- time will tell. mwtfan -- see you for steaks in couple of weeks. Anyone know where the district is this year?

    IMAC 2008

IMAC PREDICTIONS Jefferson hosting Cherokee The Lady Chiefs go scalp hunting down in the valley of the dumpling today to take on the Lady Patriots as they search for former days of IMAC glory. Historically, the Patriots have defended their land well and I expect will fight admirably today. Jeff is in fight, fight, fight mode and they are certainly willing to pay whatever the price; however, today the only Price that matters is the one wearing Black and Red. Ashlee Price has a big game and Whitney Gilbert lets everyone know why she is the big Chief on campus. Lance's Loser: Jefferson West at East Just east of the Southern Cumberlands, will host the IMAC battle of the day. East is fresh off huge conference win vs Cherokee, but will finally find out where they stand as the Lady Trojans come-a-calling. I really like the Trojans in this one, but if their sunshine thought it was hot in Florida she will finally feel the IMAC heat today. West has speed at every corner, their defense is incredible, a bench that is deeper than any in the conference, and McKinney and Nut provide enough punch to knock you into tomorrow. Trojans win in every category except it is the year of the IBUS. Lance's Loser: West The crystal ball is overheating today -- Persie, get me out of here.

    IMAC 2008

Hew mwtfan - I already told you it is the year of the IBUS, what more do you need to know. It's good to be missed - just back from Georgia and ready to share my IMAC thoughts. Not to mention - your dang concession stand. You owe me a steak from last year mwtfan - I'll catch you later. TODAY'S PREDICTIONS Greeneville at Cherokee The new and improved Lady Devils travel to the Reservation to take on Chief Gilbert and the rest of the tribe. Certainly playing at a higher level - it is the new and improved Lady Devils - unfortunately, it is an old and reliable Gilbert. Lance's Loser: Greeneville (without scoring a run). Jefferson at West IMAC game of the day with the Red, White, and Blue travelling into the land of Maroon for important and colorful conference battle. West Florida sunshine somewhat tested but still a little unsure, but Jefferson is still trying to figure out which pitcher gives them the best opportunity to win. With that said, you can't find a pitcher against the high powered Trojans offense - you have to know in advance. Lance's Loser: Jefferson (pitching makes the difference) All IMAC living up to early hype - keep it up.

    IMAC 2008

IMAC head to head officially opens tonight with the Lady Canes of Morristown East travelling into the land of Green to take on the Lady Devils. Green - young - call it what you wish, but certainly some young talent beginning to level up their field of play. Some good young pitching but if it hasn't matured quick enough - this one could get ugly early. However, runs are usually scarce early in the season; therefore, I expect it to be closer than most expect. Close but no cigars - Lance's Loser: Greeneville.

    IMAC 2008

Good luck with your new crystal ball; although after reading the other Jeff post, I'm not sure how well you will tell the future when you can't properly forecast that which is past (lol). Hard to put runs up early in the season as pitching is normally ahead of hitting early, but sounds like you all like what you saw. I'm wondering how the Freshman pitcher compares to the Senior (what is the pitching depth chart look like early)? You are my sunshine - my only sunshine - you make me happy when skies are gray. You never know dear - how much I love - Please don't take my sunshine away. What says you mwtfan - we are anxiously awaiting your report. With all the snow in the area, I'm beginning to wonder if you have any sunshine at all. HEY CHEROKEE - where are you guys at? This is your year. Get on the stick and make us all jealous.

    IMAC 2008

Your preseason exuberance is noted mwtfan. Seems a little Florida sunshine has brough renewed expectations of crowns and treasures. But alas you are correct, it is time to get the softball juices flowing. Haven't really given a lot of thought, but I assume Cherokee has to be the preseason favorite. Senior laden and fully equipped. New head coach and I'm sure excitement to begin their final season. More to come later. Florida sunshine brings a smile to Trojan fans. Cocke County gets two highly skilled freshman and begin to turn the corner. Gville some great youth and may still need another year or two. The Canes - but of course - are back and ready to play. Time will tell, but if the get it together -- watch out. Jeff - big influx of youth and fired up coach gets them ready to go this year as well. Looks like a more difficult year for Lance's Losers, but I will polish the ball. My 97% mark of last year is probably in jeapardy. GO IMAC!!!
  25. Smith carried her team in the post season tourney (from 6th seed to championship). She would be my tourney MVP pick, but heck she only scored 59 points in those three games, not to mention what she accomplished defensively and on the boards. But alas -- to the victor goes the spoils. Good luck IMAC.
