  1. I think the decision to waste money on main street came from the city mayor and city council not the county commission. I could be wrong on that but that's what I was told.
  2. Does that mean they will not hire a coach without head coaching experience if one with head coaching experience applies?
  3. Is that official? Does anyone know how many people have applied? There are lots of rumors and it seems like I hear something different around town every day. I just hope whoever gets the job will get to work and get things turned around. I have now heard 4 names of potential coaches and I think any of them with the strong support of the administration and the communtiy would do a great job.
  4. Rumor has it that a former BCHS coach that is coaching elsewhere has been over here making the rounds and talking to folks. Can anyone confirm this? That could be interesting to say the least.
  5. Folks around town this morning were telling the job has been filled and that the new coach is not currently on staff but has ties to Bledsoe County football and family ties to Sequatchie County football. I know this young man and I think he would do a fine job if the admin will just leave him alone and let him build a program and get some pride and discipline back into the Big Blue. Is this true or just another rumor?
  6. I wish you all the best of luck up there. I remember Coach Wattenbarger as a player at CCHS. He was on the same team as a pretty good punter that went on to play at Tech when Mark was playing down there, is that correct? At my age it is hard to keep up with everything as the years kind of blend together, but I believe that is right. I sure hope he can turn things around up there, but don't expect a miracle. Those boys have a lot of work to do before they will be in the position to start winning football games. They will need to spend some serious time in the weight room and getting in shape and I hope you all can find some more just raw athletes to help out as well. I am sure someone will make a remark about how bad and weak Bledsoe has been the last couple of years, and you will be correct. We are in real need for boys to LIVE IN THE WEIGHT ROOM! Our boys were weaker than just about everyone we were on the field with except for Stone and our record showed that. We need help too, I am not saying we don't. Anyway, good luck up there next year and get those boys to working hard and good things will happen for you.
  7. Bledsoeb and a few others, You keep saying how everyone should support the coaching staff and the team. I have not seen anyone saying anything negative about the team unless you consider those making honest predictions negative. As far as the coaching staff, why should they be supported. What have they done to deserve support? If Coach Roberson had not been an assistant and had taken over this program, I would be saying "give him time to see if he can build a new program". BUT that is not the case. He knew all the kids and the program from being an assistant and he has made no real changes. It looks just like it did before he took over, another losing season. That is unacceptable. Also, what has he done to support the community. It goes both ways you know. Does he support the little league programs? Myself and many others are there every week and have been for many years (after actually playing football) pulling for our boys, but why should we support a coach that does not win and does not support the community? Just asking the question.
  8. All that stuff sounds well and good, and it is easy for you to just say "well it will get better". Your son is not having to deal with all the junk going on right now. All the kids don't have several years to wait for this thing to turn around like yours does. If your son was in High School you would not be so easy going about the way the program is going.
  9. There are some people that see the connection and the overall problems we are having to deal with. I am not going to even make a prediction this week because I can't stand to see in front of me how bad I think this one will be. And Bledsoebtheboys, if you had been around quality athletic programs like some of us have seen in this county, you would understand why there are so many people unhappy with what we have had to sit and watch week after week.
  10. I sure hope you are right Eric, but you're probably not. I am going to make the trip tonight and I sure would like to see a Warrior win. If the QB for Grace can throw the ball like folks say he can, we will have a hard time. The only thing we seem to do on defense is stunt the inside linebacker and people get all excited because sometimes he makes a big play. I watched last week, and on defense there were stunts and blitzes all night long. You don't win by guessing and hoping. At some point there has to be a defensive scheme put in place that forces players to play their position, do their assignment, and really stop people. I have not seen that happen all year, nor did that happen a single time last year. If someone would sit and watch the defensive signals on the sideline, they are using the same signal for their main stunt as last year. Stunts and gimmicks make for a big play or 2 and can put a player in position for a big hit or 2, but that does not win football games over teams that are well coached and are disciplined in their assignments.
  11. WOW! It is good to know that there are others out here that actually get it. I am sure you had to run out of that old locker room with water dripping from the ceiling and was thrilled to do it down at the old field. And what about having to get ready down in that "pit" at Dunlap then running out under their bleachers with them throwing stuff at you and just being proud to be able to go at it for the Big Blue. Notice there are some on here that have said nothing about actually playing or even beginning to know what that is like. I know this thread is about Blesoe vs Grace, but to start building back PRIDE in Bledsoe Football (which it takes to be able to win) we need some folks to remind everyone what being a Warrior is all about. Our players need to know that it is more than "just a game" or "something to do on Friday night". When these things start to happen and we start building PRIDE back into the Big Blue, then teams like Grace will be back to being considered "off weeks". Someone made the comment about "living in the past", "if you don't know where you've been, how do you know how to get where you want to go".
  12. Maybe to some the "free garbage" was more exciting than the first half. And correct me if I am wrong but is there a requirement of the people that pay to come to the games that they have to stand up and yell. And what on earth does that have to do with game itself. If you can't get fired up on your own to play in a region and rival game like Dunlap, you should not wear the Blue and Gold anyway. And as far as the coaches "playing to the crowd" that is what is pathetic. I hate to refer to someone else's comments but I have to agree with Warrior4ever, you must not have ever played. And I know you have no idea what it is like to be a real Warrior or have put your blood, sweat, and tears on the field. There are some of us that do! There are some of us that have run out of that old locker room at the old field, then later sat with chill bumps listening to the cleats coming down the steps from the old dressing room at the High School. So don't even question whether or not we are true Warrior supporters or imply that we don't care about the team, games, or the program...you don't even know what it is all about!
  13. After the let down on Friday it will be hard for the boys to get fired up to go over and play Grace. You add that to Coach Roberson coming back and all the problems going on and if we are not careful this one could get away from us. I have heard from some folks that their QB is pretty good and can throw the ball, so we better learn this week to run the football and keep our defense off the field. We won this game last year with just the raw talent and determination of a couple of our players and I don't know that we have that this year. At least I have not seen it yet. I have been supporting Bledsoe Athletics for a long, long, time and I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. This year just happens to be one of those years where, well it's just ugly. Warrior4ever, to answer you question as to what does everyone else think and who gets the W, I think its going to be a long rest of the season, and Grace wins this one.

  15. What exactly is a zero tolerance policy?
