  1. I really enjoy Gibson County hosting the District and Regional tourney's, mostly because it's only 3 miles from my house. Also it's a good venue to watch basketball. Not really a bad seat in the house. I am a Peabody fan, live in Trenton. I am also a Dyer County fan. My children went there. Wouldn't mind at all if they held either tourney in Newbern.
  2. The Peabody Lady Tide are a one lady show. If you can contain Perry and limit her touches and scoring, they have a slim chance of winning. They don't have an outside threat that can consistantly knock down a jumper. If they did, I think they would beat Bradford again. That was the scenario last night against Gleason. Perry scpred 18, but didn't have much help.
  3. I spoke with the sports editor from the Herald Gazette and he told me that Robert had been suspended 3 days, but Robert was dressed out at Milan but did not play. He did play in Friday's game at Greenfield and was instrumental in Peabody's win. This is just a guess, but I'm betting that he will play in the Christmas tourney at Gibson County. I still dont have the particulars on the suspension. I was told the powers that be at Peabody are not talking.
  4. Peabody must have left their defense on the bus. They have been playing good D since the Humboldt game. I thought going in that they might could play with Tiptonville. Were any of Tiptonville's shots contested or did they continually have open looks? What about turnovers? Peabody's game with Humboldt was one of the ugliest I've seen in recent memory. Peabody was 6 for 23 from the charity stripe and Humboldt wasn't any better.
  5. sorry if the truth hurts, Mr. thamansafan. I just call them like I see them. No pulling punches for me. Roll Tide!
  6. Peabody will be without Raphael Miller as he is on the football team. He will be sorely missed in this game. Humboldt's size in the front court is going to too much for the Golden Tide. I say Humboldt by 7.
  7. As a Peabody fan, I have only one (1) fear going into this game and that is the special teams play and the virtual lack of a kicking game. In every Peabody game I've attended this year, our kicking game has been suspect and trumped by the opposition in most games. It's a good thing that Peabody averages 30 points a game and gives up 20, so the kicking game really hasn't come into play. Don't get me wrong. I'm not hating on Jake (kicker) or Brandon (punter). They are great kids, but are average at best. If I were Coach Scott, I would forego a PAT, and try a 2 point conversion after every TD. When you have 2 great running backs, the odds are in your favor. I hope it doesn't come down to a field goal to win or tie the game. I don't like our chances, although I would love to be proved wrong. ROLL GOLDEN TIDE!!!
