Many basketball players in the west stick to only basketball...that's the truth. They want to stick to their best sport. And most coaches of the better teams don't like their players to take chances at getting hurt playing football

I really don't see anyone beating Union City this season...unless its Lake County, they are the only team I see it happening to. And that would only happen if LC had a hot night and UC was cold. I'm going with Union City, for the repeat!

With loss of some key seniors AGAIN...How do you think Union City will be this up coming season??

I agree with MJ being the MVP. He is the best player on the best team! He has been the leader on the court for Union City all season. I think Sisco should be Coach of the Year however...now Bradfords coach has done a good job for them, got them a huge win over Humbolt. But think about it, Union City is undefeated in 14A!! That's pretty unbelieveable considering the amount of talent in our region. And if he wouldn't have gone to those tournaments, UC would be undefeated for the season right now! I don't know how Shane does it, but all he's knows is winning!

They really should make an expection to allow Union City, Lake County, and Humbolt all go to the boro! They are deffinitly the 3 best teams in the state! Even as the 3rd place team in 14A....I can't imagine any East TN team being able to hang with their athleticism. And don't even get me started on UC or LC!!

Yea well Marquis's is playing somewhere aint he!? That's just a low blow from you...you should feel like you've accomplished something after that one. And his "stupidity" got him Mr. Basketball and brought a gold ball back to UC. What does EJ or humbolt have???

Everyone is under estimating MJ Brown from Union City! MOST games when we UC is up by 15-20...He just shares the rock for the best shot...but when the game is on the line...he takes control...just ask Lake Country. Ask them who dropped those free throws at the end of the game!!

I hope this isn't EJ on here talking him self up...I can't stand players that talk them selves up, maybe if your making millions at it, but not high school. If he's good enough, and REALLY is getting all those offers, then we will hear about it in the papers. And from what I've seen at the UC games from him...maybe 2 dunks...and MAYBE about 4 made field goals, I don't see him playing at any of those big schools

I've already heard from a source that UTM's coach is wanting MJ already...said he saw the chemistry MJ and Marquis' had last year and wants to restore that on his team. But hopefully MJ will have better school interested than UTM. Like I said...if some of his dad's height can rub off on him, he could be unbelievable. Good luck to MJ in the future

MJ Brown is deffinitly the most valuable player in 1A...he's amazing on offense and defense...not many can do both!

After watching many of Union City's game...it's just hit me, and this could really be a thread in itself but I'll see what all you guys thing. Does anyone besides me think MJ Brown is going to go somewhere big after high school? I know he is only a junior and it's probably a little pre-mature. But like many people have said, he's a Willie Kemp clone. His father is 6'6...MJ sure isn't done growning. He possesses every skill a point guard could want. When most high school players want their names in the paper and all the credit, night in and night out MJ does what's best for the team. He makes the extra pass to the open man instead of taking a rediculous shot, although I firmly believe he can drive the basket extremely well...I was just wondering what everyone else thinks of this out-standing player...Will he make it somewhere big??

What tournament has Grace played in?? Even if your schedule is weak, you can still get into some good tournaments and played better teams! Take Union City for example...they could be undeated right now...might could even run the table for the entire season. But they have competed in some great tournaments. They lost 3 games in those 2 tournament. Grace should atleast push theirselves to play better teams. Its better to be battle tested come tournament time, rather than just have an undefeated record playing no one

Brett White from Union City should be good. He impressed me at times last season, with a little help form some play makers...look for him to have a great year

Let's all remember that Andre' Coby...a STARTER for union city all season, has been out the past couple of weeks. When he gets back into the line up, there's another player off the bench with fresh legs, and one of uc's best 3 point shooters coming back. Everyone has forgotten about Dre. Once he gets back...look for union city to gain some more confidence, and become even more dominant than now. I've heard he will be playing at lake county. Watch out Falcon fans!!

I talked to a Union City player last night...and he said that Andre' had a slightly torn ACL...but its not too serious, even though injury dealing with an ACL can end an entire season. From what I was told he should be back in plenty of time for state, and hopefully well before then. Good luck to Andre' in his rehab. I hope he can get back as soon as possible!!

I like your style Mr. Playboy. Sports isn't able feeling sorry for the weakling! The score does matter. There is a huge difference between a 10 point win and a 30 point win...it's a little something called intimidation!! And the scorecard can do that

Hey now don't be hatin' on my boy. No UC didnt blow out Lake County...but they beat them by nine. The score with forty seconds left doesnt matter. The final score does! The score goes down in history as a 9 point win...not 4!!

Correction...Union City has only had two 100 point games. I doubt they're done having them though FO SHO...

So how many times has Union City scored 3-digits this year? 3 or 4?? Thats amazing to me considering many teams never do that over a 3 or 4 year period! Amazing offensive balance and unselfishness by the tornadoes.

Exactly! Union City is just that much better than Gleason. What are they suppose to do?? Trip on purpose to let a Gleason player drive on them? or not get their hands up to contest a shot? No one including myself wanted to see a score like that. But if your going to complain about getting beat that bad...maybe you shouldnt be playing sports. Because everyone gets to give a beating and everyone takes one. that just how life goes...I don't see Union City taking a beating this year, but you never know. Its the wonder world of sports! What would be do with out it!?!?

Im picking Union City by 15. I think their press, even though LC will press also, will help in deciding the outcome. Those U-town boys don't seem to get tired. Watch for MJ Brown to step up under the pressure and have a great game. When a team has 6 players averaging double figures...It will be hard to shut down their offense. Should be a great game!
