  1. Another day at the office for Justin: 31 points, 6 threes, 3 assists, 5 rebounds ( and I'm guessing 2 or 3 steals). That's only playing about 17 minutes.
  2. Last I heard (about a month ago), Montrell and Fisk were playing in Arlington TX in the Texas Pro Basketball League. I'll ask around at tonights game for any updates.
  3. Looks like this going into the district: Updated standings, Feb. 8 (1) Dyer Co. - 25-1, 12-0 (2) Dyersburg - 15-10, 8-4 (t3) Obion Co. - 14-10, 7-5 (t3) Westview - 19-7, 7-5 (5) Gibson Co. - 9-13, 4-8 (6) Milan - 10-14, 3-9 (7) Crockett Co. - 4-20, 1-11 What's the tie breaker for third?
  4. I'll be there. DC is off that night. Ya'll put on a great show against Dyersburg at home last year (both boys and girls). Hoping for a similar outcome this year.
  5. No, Demarian was #1. He got his pocket picked by CJ first trip down the court, then fouled CJ. It was like the first 10-15 seconds of the game. He did settle down later and get two steals for layups. The last I saw he had about 6 points.
  6. Dyer Co defeats Gibson Co 104-50. It was 54-19 at the half. DC never pressed again. Everyone played and at least 10 players scored. GC couldn't handle the press or slow down our penetration. Another great show of smothering defense and unselfish play by the Choctaws.
  7. Sorry. That's what I heard on the radio. Announcer must have mis-spoke. Or I heard the girls score. Post the it on the scoreboard and I wouldn't have these problems. Will GC be able to keep it within 25 on Friday?
  8. Dyer Co over Crockett Co 94-49. 5 players in double fiqures. Everyone played. Justin Blake with 22 or 24. Jeremy Kimble with 13 rebounds (another double double). Another day at the office for DC in 13AA. Dyersburg beats Milan. Obion Central over Gibson. Could someone post the scores on scoreboard? Congatulations to the Rebels on a great district run so far!
  9. Obion defeats Gibson by 10 DC over CC by 14 (77-63) Milan won by I think 10
  10. Of all the facilities in 13AA Milan's easily ranks last. Can someone clue me in on how these tourny sites are selected? Does someone vote, sites rotated, or just pay someone off? Seriously, everyone wants the tourny at home, but how does TSSAA select the site?
  11. Dyer County defeats Westview on the road 57-46. Choctaws were perfect at the stripe in the fourth to hold the Chargers from coming back. Go Choctaws!
  12. Choctaws win 100-73. It was a physical hard fought game. Rebels shot very well tonight around 55%, but 31 turnovers was the killer. They had lots of trouble with the press. 4 players fouled out 3 for OC and 1 Choctaw. I give the Rebels credit they played very hard and hustled all night. Nick Gilliam showed why he's on everyone's all district team. In the end, it was the Choctaws press and inside play over the larger Rebels that was the story.
  13. I think this might be a good'un. Loud gym, spirited student section, and the Rebs look like they are on a mission. And don't forget the great food also. My 2nd favorite place to watch a 13AA game. Go Choctaws!
  14. Your post is ludicrous. And for Mr. Wilson's benifit: lu?·di?·crous /?€lud??kr?™s/ Pronunciation Key - [loo-di-kruhs] ??“adjective causing laughter because of absurdity; provoking or deserving derision; ridiculous; laughable 1. When you hold the basketball chest high with elbows out and swing wildy back and forth whille being closely guarded and strike your defender; it is not incidental. Especially when this occurs at least three times during game. (BTW there is never a time when throwing a punch is appropiate behavior. I do not condone, nor did I cheer this action.) 2. I sat a mid court behind scorers table. Dyersburg students did spill onto the court from the stands. The situation was handeled immediately and it did not concern me in any fashion. 3. Dyersburg student section was loud at times, but was about one-half to two-thirds (that's generous) of DC's number. 4. The game was physical on both sides and for the most part clean, by both teams. 5. Every game I has seen between these two teams have been physical, going back to at least 4 years.
  15. Congratulations Rebels. Looking forward to the best concessions stand in the district. See you there.
  16. Really nothing more than kids being kids. Mclin connected with Harsten with an elbow to the head. (He had the ball) Vic then said something to Kim that he took exception to, and Kim took a swing at Victor. Not sure if it landed, if did wasn't much. The refs stepped in and separted them and ejected Kim (rightly so). Some Dyersburg students then spilled out on the floor and some of the admin ushered them back into the stands. No big deal that I could see. oh you did miss the chant of the night after DC went on about a 16 point run... JUST LIKE FOOTBALL...priceless. Can't wait to travel there. Nothing like a good rivalry. I hope you get to feeling better.
  17. My jersey will match my hat. Look me up and I'll buy you a Dr Pepper. I won't be hard too find. My "top hat" is fuzzy and orange.
  18. Dyer County is playing in this tournament 27-29 Dec. It's supposed to played in Russellvile KY. That's all I know. If anyone can come up with a bracket, or teams partcipating, times, or locations it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried everything but calling the Russellville High School. I am hoping someone here can clue me in. Thanks.
  19. Dyer County wins easily over Milan 81-48. DC did a great job of keeping David Vaughn contained and forcing him to play outside where all his shots were strongly contested. No real standouts for DC tonight. They did an excellant job of spreading the scoring around. Jeremy Kimble did stellar work on the boards against the bigger Bulldogs. As usual, great show of support by the Choctaw fans making this road trip. Another long trip on Tuesday against Ripley, Let's keep showing up. Go Choctaws!
  20. So much for my logic. Westview defeats Dyersburg 66-57. Westview led by as many as 20 in the 3rd. Westview hit ten 3's, Dyersburg had one. That was the differance in the game as both teams shot 38-39% from the field. Easly (sp?) led all with 22 points and had 4 three's.
  21. Westview is a total unknown for me this year. But they only beat Crockett by nine the other night. I think Dyersburg is a lot better than nine points over Crockett. So...using that convoluted logic, I think Dyersburg will take this. Hopefully I can pick this game up on the radio while in Milan's gym.
  22. The DC coaching staff told me that they could not get the two games scheduled for both teams (girls and boys). Both programs tried but they could not work out a home and away for both squads. And you right! Dyer County did not want to get beat by little old Union City, that's why DC won the last meeting during the play day last year. I work in Union City and am a Dyer County fan. Both schools have outstanding programs and I've never heard fans of either team speak ill of each other. Why would want to come on here and start stuff with DC? Still feeling inadequate after last years early ending? I should know better than to put any stock into your comments that "Union City NEVER Turns down a deal to play anyone at their place or ours." I am sure UC has to turn offers every year for one reason or another. So your entire post seems a little silly; which in turn makes me silly for responding. Good luck to both teams this season.
  23. Seniors - Kimble, Parr, Hurst, Blake, Dejaun Taylor and Dawson Juniors - CJ, Nik Mula, John Roberts, Chuck Davis, and Jake Alexander out with a broken foot. We also have one of the strongest Freshman classes coming next year that folks have seen around here in years. I think at least 3 have the potential to suit up with varsity right away.
  24. After a low scoring first half (30-20 DC). The Choctaws score 54 in the second to win 84-48. Justin Blake led all scorers with 22. CJ Crittenden put on a show with 10 assists to go with his 10 points. In all 11 Choctaws scored tonight in another impressive district win. Kudos to the Traveling Tribe as the Choctaw fans out numbered the home team yet again. Let's all hit the road Friday for another district match up against Milan.
