  1. What a great championship game in AA. Everyone was on the edge of their seats for 29 minutes of the game and what awesome support as fans shouted enthusiastically for their respective teams. Congratulations and best wishes to both LA and GC senior players, what a unforgettable way to finish your careers and what a way to inspire the underclassmen to work hard and have the dream to return to the "Big Dance" next year. I think that Gibson County and LA are both very, very good teams and are deserving of having finished as the top two 2 teams in AA this year. Also thanks for all the great memories you have provided your fans this season. G.C. with an unblemished record and LA having a great run against 5 ranked teams in a row and then just falling short in the final game. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Hoping that both teams play to the optimal and that this game goes down to the wire. It's "March Madness" to the every sense of the word. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  3. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> The LA-Upperman game tonight was another classic. Both teams fought hard with tremendous amounts of desire and determination. Well done LA coaches for a great game plan and to the players for the 4 best quarters of this 08-09 season (so far!). You defeated a very good team tonight. Now get some rest and get ready for another tough game Saturday night against Polk Co. Best wishes to Upperman on Saturday night at McMinn Central. Also congratulations to the players that made the all tournament selection, all were very deserving. 4. Would anyone have any photos of the AA all tourney team we are needing one for our local paper that goes to print on Tuesday?
  5. Hats off to LA for staying focused, but also congrats to BTW, they appear to be a very good and classy group of young ladies. Best of luck in your off season and next year. I'm sure you'll be visiting Murfreesboro again. Congrats to the entire LA team, particularly the 6 seniors. You guys are showing great leadership and discipline. Stay focused and team oriented and continue to work hard on the defensive end and keep sinking those F/T's. Remember as a team me-ology will get you no where, but you can accomplish awesome things by practicing we-ology. God Bless! Numbers 6:24-26 24 " ' "The LORD bless you and keep you; 25 the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace." '
  6. I for one have never felt that all tourney, all conference, and the like should be awarded to individual players participating in team sports. In football, it takes all 11 players on both sides of the ball playing together to be successful. In basketball, it takes all 5 members working hard on both ends of the court to do well. Being successful and doing well does not necessarily mean a W at the end of the game. This may sound corny to some but, It's walking off the field, court, etc. knowing that, "We have given it our very best!" Sure, it's great to win, but as in the game of life, we all have to deal with the elation of big wins, but also the heartbreak of tough losses. I certainly realize that there are players that have more ability than others on a team, but the most prolific scorer must have a teammate pass them the ball in order to score(in most cases), and the best defensive player must have teammates that know how to play help-side or weak-side coverage. It's takes a special individual having the desire, the determination, and the discipline to want to be a part of a team and not as concerned about what "me" can do, but more focused on what "we" can do. I will close by wishing all teams memorable and injury free play in the tournaments.
  7. Hermitage Springs has had some very great teams in past years and the seed of pursuing excellence (no matter what the won-loss record) has been planted in the hearts of these students and student athletes. Yes, it is difficult to see a high school close, but may this community use their energies and attitudes to positively impact the future for the students, student athletes, families, coaches, teachers, and fans. Remember Romans 8:28, "All things work to the good of those that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose."
