  1. Pretty sure his response was directed at how one poster responded to another; no disrespect intended toward the SP program. I thought the referenced response was funny also. The MC season was so funny two years ago we all laughted till we cried........then got better, much better. MC wins this one easily and, barring someone taking another shot at that particular poster (he's waay under the weather right now and defenseless), Al is once again slamming the poster door shut.
  2. With a polite nod toward Old Pirate, frequent SP poster who always showed my Grandson respect while routinely using my screen name as a dart board, Nohope is dead (not literally thank goodness). I still receive an annual thank you note from Coacht himself for cancelling that profile. RIP Nohope. Al Capone tried to die when Marion fired Coach Boeck. Coacht refused that request without providing an email for that profile. I'm afraid that has receded like my hairline, never to return. Took three tries just to log on this time. This is Al Capone's last post, begging Coacht to destroy this character. Grand Daughter begins her Whitwell career soon in BB and SoftBall. Look for some discreet, incognito screen name like BeccaforPresident2032 or possibly something a little less humble. RIP Al Capone.
  3. The classic "Win - Win" situation for both teams. Marion got the new Coach they've become accustomed to every two to four years; Coach Boeck's found a new job with a good team he'll help make stronger and better. Everybody wins.......Good luck to Coach MaC and his Warriors and Coach Boeck and the Eagles next year.
  4. Still shell shocked Jimmy. Me too. Those cases were drank up earlier this Fall, just after that last Pirate beat down. Now I'm already starting to like these new phrases.......Fear the Mac........Big Mac Attack...........and if BillyGoatMtn Man knows what he's talking about, that Mac don't like that Grider man already, the annual post game entertainment should continue. Here's a mug full lifted to ye, hoping this rivalry can get back soon to something respectable. Gool luck to both teams in the coming year(s).........I no longer have a dog in the hunt........yet.
  5. Well, with all this said, in High School sports, if a coach fails to keep the parents happy, they're probably not long term coaches. A few well established coaches with mostly winning programs can buck that fact......most can't. That's no knock on Coach Boeck; he gotta raw deal as far as I'm concerned. Right now Marion has a new Head Coach on board; if all MCHS administration, asst. coaches, football players, fans, students and PARENTS can all pull together, sounds like the program may see some quick improvement. I hope so, and good luck to all involved.
  6. So....your logic being coaches who turn in team info to Murphy Fair (I know, your friend) stand a better chance of beating Grider's Pirates than those who don't. Well, who'd a' thunk it...Now the secrets out, I expect Mr. Fair will get about a dozen responses from all 3A and below coaches in the state next year, at least those with SP on the schedule. I wish Coach Zieglar, Coach Stone, that "Other" Coach Grider(wouldn't that be a hoot), or whomever takes over the Warrior program success in the coming years. Still believe a giant backward step has just been taken by the MC program.
  7. Papa Johnny in a PURPLE "Fence Jumper" tee shirt...oh my. Coach Stone would make a fine candidate for the MC position. Should mesh well with Coach K also. It would take some of the drama away from the post game "Head Coach Hand Shake".
  8. Good luck to Coach Boeck and to the Warrior program in the future. Personally I believe MC has taken a giant step backwards but........right or wrong, decision has been made. I also haven't read the article yet; his recruiting quote was likely a spontaneous remark made out of frustration. He's worked all year long being the symbolic whipping boy for MC's lack of success. Man has a right to feel some frustration right now. Give him a break on this one comment. His feelings will likely temper somewhat in the ooming weeks. I don't have a clue to what happened with this program. Anyone who believes one man bears all the blame knows even less than I do. I admire him for not quitting; I wouldn't have blamed him if he had though. Seems like a lot of athelets quit him early; I blame parents for that. Just a sad situation all around. Coach Boeck will be fine; I suspect the MC football program will too. Way too many motivated folks involved to allow the present trend to continue. Thanks Coach Boeck for everything.
  9. Warriors win in a close one, 7-6....I'm only kidding too. Man, that Warrior defense. Warriors, to steal a quote from that Dooley man up in K-town, it's time to play big boy football. Find the football, then tackle it. It really ain't that hard. I believe the Warriors will get the win, by whatever margin I don't have a clue, but it's past time to salvage something from this season. Good luck and again, hats off to all Senior Warriors who have stuck with the team.
  10. Probably too optimistic but, I keep hoping the Warrior defense will experience an "AHA" moment and actually start tackling the ball. Maybe they can get by L.V. on numbers. Hats off to the few Seniors that have stuck.......
  11. "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN".....You work for the Tribune? Things are difficult at Marion, but not that bad. Marion will win this game.....they should anyway.
  12. The topic question? I remember seeing Dr. Adcock when he played. I remember when Coach Phils boy broke his (neck?) in a game, but I think he was a pass catcher as Roy says, not a ball runner. I seen a lot of good backs..........still go with Jimmy, no contest. Once past him, the question is something like "How longs a piece of rope?" How do you rate a back anyway. Too many variables from year to year, team to team, etc.
  13. I'm replying to your post Volsbbfan because it can't show up enough. I know you're about as close to the program as anyone; your thoughts are likely much more accurate than most posts. My source says the head coach is feeling some pressure and that's just pitiful. He's done enough for Marion to earn him a few lean, developing years without having to hear and feel anything but support. I respect the man; MC better hold on to him. The fans and players will be rewarded soon enough if they do. Nice post; now lets hear from that other pure purple poster. Time to step up for the team.
  14. Sounds like your a MC fan that know's the ends and outs of the programYes.....and no Sportman. And BINGO Pegleg. These annual blowouts ain't gonna stop till something finally gets through to these MC players today. There was a time when records really could be ignored when these programs met. Yeah, for the past.....too many years......SP has been more talented overall...But not THAT more talented. It's all got to do with the players heart and desire. Coaching has been there for the past four years at least. Friday should be a turn around night for the MC team. They'll beat whitwell.....if they really want to.
  15. Sportman I can't speak to players leaving practice, etc. I have heard some pretty reliable rumors about uncommitted players, lack of Senior numbers, things like that. I know of one that quit, possibly family problems as an excuse, who should get his behind back out there. Bright future in atheletics for him if he sticks. Folks around Marion program are putting unrealistic expectations on these coaches, head coach in particular. Just not much enthusiam being shown for the program right now, based on what I see Friday nights. Look at this thread; have to hunt it up. Not too many seasons ago Marion threads stayed near the top. Now its like fans just want it to go away. Personally, I would like to see all malcontented players do their team a favor and bale; take their parents with them. If these younger kids are committed, let the few remaining Seniors lead them. The season is still young; wouldn't that long ago a 0-2 Marion team came close to turning all East Tennessee 2A football on its ear. Would have if that Semi-Pro team hadn't got in their way. Those Warriors weren't much more, if any, talented than these Warriors are. Heart, desire and teamwork, they were light years ahead. That has to come from players. Coaches can only do so much. Marion supporters will be making a huge mistake even comtemplating a coaching change.
