Congratulations to the Purple Pounders, coach Barger and his staff. Last night was a very impressive start to the season. Things are really looking up at Chattanooga Central!

You owls are really something else. You know, it was only about five or six years ago when Central pounded your tails by about 40 pts. Things change, and they will change again for you guys in a couple of years when the new school opens. Maybe then you will drop back to 4A and we can compete for a championship instead of bragging rights. Until then, worry about your own house. Central High School is doing just fine.

RB seems to be the obvious pick. However, it will be interesting to see if Rhea or Cleveland can make a serious challange. Central will be better and should be in the mix for the fourth play-off spot. I don't know much about Hixson at this point and you always have to take a wait and see approach to Brainerd.

primetime must be a young one. He obviously has no memory of the years and years of weak owl teams. I've never put much stock into spring practice, but from what I hear the players are already seeing a difference. I'm looking forward to August!

This is looking more and more like a great hire for the Pounders. Reading all the testimonials on the 1A, 2A, 3A board really show the impact he had at Lake County. For example: Go Pounders!!

David Barger sounds like a great hire for the Purple Pounders. From what I hear we have alot to be excited about on Hwy 58!

From what i hear Central is getting close to making a call on the new coach. Those birdies from OHS need to worry about their own nest...

Article in the Chatt Times/Free Press today made it sound like it will be a couple of weeks at the least before Central makes a decision.
