I agree wholeheartley, but unfortunately, what about the kids that (for some reason) the coach takes a dislikeing to or who is being bullied by another teammember or just flat does'nt give anything to the coach that furthers his or her career (besides athletic ability) and are continually discouraged?????? Not every parent or child who makes a decision to move does it necessarily because they think the grass is greener on the other side, remember, until you've walked in his shoes, you really don't know why a person makes the decisions they make!

Have decided that at least for now, our best option is to (as advised) suffer in silence, and make a decision about next year slowly and with careful thought. Thanks for all the concern and advice.

No change, young girl, sitting on the bench, watching kids play that she can and does out-play easily every day in practice. The only comments from the coach are (stop trying to impress me). Completely in a quandry, don't know if there is a solution. I do (think) i know the problem, and it appears to be all related to advancement of the coachs career. so, for now, just sitting. I would like to think that she will be the secret weapon that he pulls out come post-season, but my family (including my daughter) thinks I'm grasping at straws! But it helps justify the cost of admission in my mind anyway. FOR THE DOUBTING THOMAS'S, I wouldn't have believed this story myself, 4 years ago, but in the real world sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Waste of everybody's time and energy, sounds like a lazy coach!

my child was told by her basketball coach, work as hard as you like in practice, do anything you want or can, BUT, during a game you are to HOLD BACK, and if you don't and if you OUT-PLAY any of my starting five in front of a gym full of people, I will put you on the BENCH and leave you there the rest of the season!!!! Keep in mind this an all A's student with NO behavior problems or so much as a complaint ever from either teachers or coach. Have spoken to the coach who dosen't deny comment but desen't offer explanation either.STUMPED and NEED ADVICE.
