  1. I have not seen them play well either. It's very obvious that the team has talent, but it seems the coach doesn't know how to get them to play their best. Don't think he knows how to deal with all the attitudes and different personalities on the team!
  2. Just to clarify things, the Volunteer, Science Hill JV game final score was 64-21. GO HILL!
  3. Science Hill girls hosted Sullivan Central last night. The Lady Toppers came out very slow and somewhat out of sorts. Then after a half of back and forth scoring, the Lady Toppers came out of halftime with a vengence. They came out of the sluggish zone defense and into their trademark man to man press which left the lady cougars without an answer. This began a one sided scoring run. Central did a good job, but in the end couldn't handle the pressure defense. Final score was 72-50. Whitney Moody led Central with an impressive 17 points. Jaimee Hill led the lady Toppers with 21 points and an impressive night of play with 8 steals, 6 assist and 7 rebounds. Jordan Douglas added 13 and Danika Collins and Alexis Fields both had 11. It was a well played game by both teams, with the Lady Toppers defense winning out. If the Lady Toppers can make the adjustments needed to begin the games with the intensity and pressure they end the game with, they will be a force to be reckoned with. The Lady Cougars are not to be counted out either, they have several good players in Moody, Blizzard, and others and if they continue to work could be a suprise to a few teams this season. On another note, I was wondering if anyone was at last nights TN High/South game? I just heard that South girls won over the preseason favorites to confirm that no one is safe in the big 9. I would have loved to have seen that game... I am sure it was a good one! Go Toppers!!
  4. I am not from Unaka but I was present at last nights game. I was really impressed by unaka and the hustle that all the kids on the floor had. I actually was there watching a friends son, who plays for Science Hill, but would have to admit that they simply got out hustled and were made to look lazy and out of sorts the majority of the game. I don't have a personal dog in the fight and don't know what goes on other times at Unaka, but I would have to say that I would be proud of the boys there for the game they played. I can only speculate that I believe that for the most part the Unaka coach had the right players on the court at the right time. They worked together and I am not sure they missed more than one free throw the whole game. It just so happened that Science Hill got back into the swing of things toward the end of the game and won it on a buzzer beater in overtime. If it wasn't for the unforgiving play of Science Hill's #24 I would have to guess they would have lost by atleast 25 or 30! That kid is unreal. I actually, until this moment, was under the impression that Unaka was all freshman, because they were playing Science Hills freshman team. I would have to agree with other posters that if you are that concerned about your child not getting the playing time that you believe he deserves, the best advice I have for you is for your child to work relentlessly and take the choice out of the coaches hands. It doesn't matter who the coach is, if your child is the best player out there, they will have no choice but too play him, otherwise I suggest that they get, and stay in the gym until they are. Goodluck to the Rangers on the rest of there season, it looks like they are on there way to a good one! Go HILL!
  5. Congrats to the Lady Blazers. They really have stepped up when it was time to do so. They deserved the win and if they continue to play the same way, there will be the same outcome in the next game, no doubt. They are playing better and harder than anyone right now. Good Luck!
  6. I was not taking anything away from Montgomery, I was simply saying that if you have followed Good throughout the season, you would know that she is a definate top contender, if not the best, in the big 9. She not only plays big and makes a difference within her own scoring, passing, and defense, but when she is on the court, her entire team feeds off her. She can change the game and create shots on her own. Not to say that she is always a perfect player and in fact, like anyone else, she has off nights, but she is a great player and with continual growth as an athlete she will demand attention from everyone in the big 9 in the comming years. She is a great player and leader, and an even better person. Whether everyone realizes it yet or not, she will go places and you have to give her credit where credit is due. As far as tranum and D1, I wasn't agrueing whether she really was a true D1 player, I was just saying that Montgomery has a support staff that helps her alot... Nakita, Ashton, and others that help her in big ways when they need to. She has help making her "look good" too.
  7. Your right... she seems like she is always ready to shoot and is very consistant.
  8. Jordan Douglas, from Science Hill. When she is on, she can't miss! Her shooting has really helped pull her team out of some rough spots this season!
  9. I agree, Frolich has really stepped up her game. She will be a definate force to be recogned with in the next years!
  10. I think that this post is about who the best player is overall, not who has the most help. A great player is a great player, no matter who else is on their team. Put Michael Jordan on a team with all stars and he is just as good as he is without anyone. Johnesha Good is a stand out, reguardless of what help she does or does not have. Not to say that Montgomery is not a excellent player, but you are underestimating her team mates, last time I checked she has a few team mates that are pretty good themselves, not to mention a D1 signee. Good is an unbelievable athlete and judging purely on the basis of the best player, reguardless of her supporting cast, you would have to go with Johnesha. You can't tell me that you would pass up a chance to have her on your team if you could.
  11. I agree that they are due. They have alot of talent on the team and some of the coaches decisions of late have been difficult to understand. I have also heard that Caldwell might not play again next year. I hope this is only a rumor, sometimes things don't go the way you would like but keep your heads up girls and don't give up!
  12. Sophmores Joneshia Good Jamie Hill Jasmine Foster...Science Hill
  13. I would like to see the eight sophmores that play varsity at Science Hill play, but will their coaches allow that?
