I was researching Walker Valley and they do have some height. In the past, SH has always had trouble with a height factored team, however, Josh Odem is playing his best ball right now. I did hear from a friend of mine that lives there that he got injured and may not be 100% come Thursday. How do you get injured going into the state!?? Coach has gotta protect that investment. I'm from the Knoxville area and I don't think anyone wants anything to do with Bearden right now, but SH actually has the weaker bracket. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ph34r:" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

I have been in town to see a couple of SH games, I have noticed Mr. Jennings over on the bench, not really coaching just sort of cheering. My friend just told me that he may be moving into the Milligan oppening or the Boone, Crockett opening......anyone heard any rumors or facts? He's such a great guy, needs to be doing more than sitting.

It's good to see TN High represent the Big 9, but I have seen Memphis Central and it appears unless a miracle happens, Central will win this one by a wide margin. Hats off to first time coach Wade...he has done what no other TN coach could do. I wasn't going to get into this mess this year, but Big 9 fans and parents are pitiful. I'm a Topper fan that just sits back and observes ALL the games. I love the game of basketball! But I just had to get in on this one. SH in my opinion took South lightly and lost, the dynamic duo did not hurt them, they along with the Hill girl hurt themselves. It will be a different story in the next matchup. Last night I understand that there was an article left in the lockerroom for SH and it was calling them "_itches"...talk about classless!! I think that's was the motivating factor for that game! Boone had every rebound they wanted in the first half and it seemed like SH finally woke up some in the 2nd half. The Hill girl stayed in the game an dwhen you have those girls all playing like they did...it's gonna be tough to deal with them. Looks as though everyone that is in the game for SH scores and contributes. It will be interesting to see if Montgomery can do it all. Nakita seems a little slow and gets winded quickly. It will be a SH game if they can run all game long. Oh back to the Boone Den, I always watch all 4 games on gameday. Talk about classless...people were behind the JV bench during the girl's 3:30 game yelling at the coach for pressing. That was funny! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blush:" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> It is not just the opposing team's fans but SH has some rude fans as well. Science Hill tradition starts at the JV level as well. The Junior varsity team spanked the green devils by 25. They took an L against DB. but are ready to play them. Everybody should stop by to see those kids play!

Happy New Year All Just wanted to congratulate all the Upper East Tn Teams for their success during 2006. Now is the time to really focus on what's important and get down to playing some real b-ball. I attended both the Arby's Classic and the Greene County Ladie's Classic. Their was more excitement on the ladies side this year than the Arby's. Anywho, I was at the game last night at DB and SH didn't do anything out of the norm...just contained Lawson and played tough defense. The big girl inside for DB, Frolic, didn't affect the game at all. As a matter of fact SH back off of her and at times didn't guard her. Db's mistake came becuse they did not guard Ashley Scott, she's mostly known for her defense, but last night she actually scored points. DB would probably have done a better job if they would have played zone against them. They just could not run with SH. It looks like it will be the Classic TH-SH game if those two teams can keep winning.

Last night was the Classic SH-DB Rival game! The Atmosphere was set for DB to once again knock off the Toppers. Coach Charlie Morgan always has his men ready to play SH, however SH's program has yet to figure that out. Why can't SH beat DB at DB?? I think there is trouble in the camp. Why would anyone let Josh Odem, obviously SH's bets outside shooter, sit out this game? Oh and was I the only one to notice that Coach Cutlip chewed out one of his assistants in front of everybody? Wow! SH definately has the talent in this area, but I just wonder if it is being used properly? They stunk up the Arby's Classic...well as did all the rest of the teams. The Arby's was horrible this year. This is the ultimate time of the year for basketball and we will get to see the level of play increase from this time on.

Oh I'm not going to talk about Ashley Scott, however when SH played man, Montgomery did nothing! SH went to some type of zone and it looked like a 2-3 at times or a 1-2-2, at anyrate TH looked confused and could not get anything going! Montgomery forced and forced shots all night long. Who really played well for TH was the big girl inside, SH did not have an answer for her and McMillan got in foul trouble early. Douglas was the key in the 4th quarter, when SH made a run and finished TH off. The calls were horrible for both sides but the game was really good. TN pressured SH and caused many turnovers, but could never finish them off. Hats off to both teams for making it a heck of a game! Looks like SH is for real...they have reclaimed the top spot and established themselves as the team to beat.

DB got handled last night by TN High. (Of course that was NO surprise) A lot of people had these high expectations of DB and I'm disappointed in their play. Roger France will never be the kind of coach for DB, those girls need someone that we make them run the floor. The half court game that he plays, doesn't work. Bright has done well over at TN High and had some excellent talent for years, but can TN High get out of the Regionals? Don't be surprised to see Boone slip up on the Big 9 come Fegruary. Tim Campbell will have those ladies ready. Barnwell, I think is very hard to figure out, he doesn't say anything negative concernng other teams and his style of play is simular to Pitts boys....play hard nose defense and run and gun. The top 3 will be TN High, SH and Boone. That probably will not change for a few years. But I'm still hesitate to put any of them up against Greenville...the rest of the IMAC's not a threat. Morristown West with smooth Johnny will NOT be a factor this year. Greenville has represented our region well in the State Tourney who will it be this year?

I agree...with the struggles that has attacked Boone this year, this match up will turn into a blow out. I think Greenville's depth will overtake Boone. Boone is not very deep at all. I do like the fact that even though Boone is struggling right now, those ladies never give up. What matters anyway is what you do in the Tourney.

No I'm not even close to being kin to Scott...just that I've followed this game for years and can point out the players that do the things on the court to make a difference. Like I said I've seen Montgomery play and she has a tendency to be out of control...but any way that is what CoachT is...just a place to voice opinons. Not crowning her just yet. Just want you to remember where you heard it. Kin....that would be funny...especially if she was a mixed girl.

Yes The Science Hill / Daniel Boone game was an awesome game to see. Boone came out of the gates on fire and SH could never really get it together. It looked for a moment that this was an upset in the making...however what ever happened in that locker room at halftime, told the story. The Toppers came out with a vengence. Wow when they want to play DEFENSE, they know how to do it and I enjoy watching them run the floor. I STILL believe that ASHLEY SCOTT deserves to be the Defensive Player of the Year. She clamped down on Gillis during the 4th quarter and it was all she wrote for Boone. Boone has a good team but they just lack the depth to keep runnign with SH. The true test will be Friday, when TN High comes to JC. If it were me I once again would put Scott againt Montgomery anyday! My pred: SH 53 TNH 49 After watching SH's defense....they are for real!
