  1. Thanks for clearing that up. And as I said before...every little bit helps, right?
  2. I didn't say all 4 got full rides. I'm not sure exactly what 3 of them got. I know for a fact that Forrest White got a full ride to Austin Peay; the other 3 got scholarships of some sort. Even if they didn't get full rides, every little bit helps, don't you think? I do agree with the part about playing as many sports as you can as well as you can; not necessarily to try to get a scholarship. The point is, some coaches not just at PC but at other schools as well try to discourage the kids from playing more than one sport and that is not right. Good post, Yale. Gillioun, I hope you're reading this.
  3. Maybe so, but PC had 4 last year that are playing college football this year. Don't think there were any in boys basketball or baseball, so tell me who got the most attention?
  4. We still have almost the same chain gang: Bill, Michael, Stevie. I don't think you could take the job away from them. We did end up having to pay some kids the last couple of high school games to work, but I think that's pretty sad. The same 4 or 5 people worked all the middle school games, but just couldn't get very many middle school parents to work hs games. The announcer's wife, who doesn't have any kids in school anymore, worked the last couple of games (for free), and she also got her son & his girlfriend to work one game.
  5. That might work for somewhere like Lipscomb, but we are in a small county a long way away from everything. Don't know if that option would be viable for us or not. Thanks for the info & advice, though. We will check into those things.
  6. Another prime example: Region 6 PC is in the same region as Moore Co & Huntland, yet McEwen, which is 30 minutes away, is in a totally different region. The rest of region 6 is not too bad, but MC & Huntland are 2 1/2 -3 hours away. Go figure.
  7. Yep. That's who I thought you were. You and your wife have worked hard for a long time, all thru Jr Pro, middle school & high school. Wish there were a lot more like you. How is Joey doing? Is he still at UNA?
  8. I know, went thru the same thing with Jr Pro. It's just frustrating. And yes, if you are who I think you are, you and your wife both have definitely done your time. Maybe some of the ones who don't help will read this and feel guilty!!
  9. Don't think anybody on the PC thread predicted that they would win the region or be a top 2 team. What everyone is saying is that PC is improving, and could be play-off contenders in the next few years.
  10. I am on my soap box today. Just wondering if other schools have the problem of getting people to join the booster clubs, and the even bigger problem of getting people to do anything to help out (fundraisers, concession stands, etc). At our school we have a few really great parents who are there every game cooking food, waiting on people, cleaning concession stand after the game, picking up trash, etc. We are supposed to have a rule, high school parents work concessions at middle school games, middle school parents work at high school games. The problem is it's the same ones who work every game. When they go out trying to find parents to work so they can actually watch their child play, nobody wants to! People need to realize that supporting the team does not just consist of going to games, sitting in the bleachers and cheering for the team. There is a lot of behind-the scenes work that has to be done.
  11. You're right about that. I commend all the booster clubs everywhere for their hard work. Many people don't realize what the booster clubs do or what the money is used for. I know first hand how hard it is to get a lot of parents to do anything. it is usually a select few who do all the work, but everybody else just wants to complain. But that is a different subject...sorry. I'm on my soap box again.
  12. I agree. Chris & Dakota should be playing; also Jake McCaig, Colby Bates, Chaz Edwards all were good football players, probably some others that I can't think of right now. Colby actually did play football his freshman year and did very well, but he decided to just concentrate on baseball. That is the problem we have...the athletes are out there, it's just getting them to play that's the problem.
