  1. no, don't coach travel ball . You must coach somewhere because you sure know it all. You seem mad about the last coach getting fired? From what I heard only 3 people in town wanted to keep him.
  2. Kids in C.C. get off the couch to play baseball and football don't they? You think Price didn't work his tail off to sell his program to the town and parents, who in turn were more willing to get their kids involved. Drop by the ball park or a soccer field this spring and see how many kids got off the couch. You know why? They see some level of success at the high school level and want to be a part of that. Waiting around for some talent to develop itself so you can have a decent year ever once in a while is not going to get it done.
  3. OK. I have tried to be silent, but I can't help it. Having no talent is not a reason to retain a bad coach (who by the way RESIGNED and was not fired -some make it sound like he was fired). I might also add, it is the coach's job to develop talent by at least attempting a feeder program but we wouldn't want to interfere with softball season would we?
  4. Give credit where credit is due, but it looks like C.C. is "mailing it in" the rest of the season.
  5. Bruce Pearl is not walking through that door.........
  6. This is a perfect example of what is wrong with this county. We are more worried about tearing down a successful program, than building up the broken ones. (yeah, I am talking about basketball AGAIN). Rarely does anything in this town surprise me, but this takes the cake. Unbelievable.
  7. Several keep saying we missed a great opportunity early. Not that it matters now, but who are we talking about?
  8. WHEW! that was a close one. We will all sleep better tonight knowing the boy's program is in good hands.
  9. Pedo called it on Monday . Good Luck Coach Muckle
  10. At last we agree on something, C.C. continues to waste time that could've been spent on spring practice and getting ready to go to camp. It all goes back to waiting weeks after the season was over to fire Scroggins, so much time has been wasted and we are still wasting it this morning. Several are saying they made an offer yesterday so why not go ahead and announce.
  11. Great. We will probably know who it is right after he decides what we are gonna name the Garage Mahal Learning Center out on 55.
  12. There must be something holding this up. Someone with those creditials should be able to get this job. Something just doesn't add up.
  13. She probably would. BUT, we aren't looking for an assistant. We are looking for a head coach. I am sorry, but hiring someone with little experience because their wife would be a good assistant makes as much sense as buying life insurance for a dead man.
  14. 14pioneers, it is almost comical to watch what happens around here from time to time, some things you have to actually see to believe.
  15. You just proved my point. Why don't you just go ahead and say it. You want the coaches wife, not the coach. If this applicant was from out of town and we had never heard of him, his application would have been thrown in the trash. Just think about this, from what we have heard he has coached a single A private school for a couple of years and she has never coached at all. Good players or ex player's husbands don't always make good coaches . We may find him to be the greatest coach ever to grace Coffee County, but the resume at this point is weak. So yes...home cooking IT IS.
  16. Oh that smell. No it's not the landfill, it's home cookin and the scent is getting stronger by the day.
  17. unless they are installing a putting green in the gym I don't see it happening.
  18. This is Manchester and until someone proves otherwise, who you know has everything to do with being qualified.
  19. His ties to the '93 championship team won't hurt his cause.
  20. I, like many others, are resigned to the fact there will be no regime change in the boy's program so save your nickels. In all honesty, they should have offered Scroggins the boy's job. Most would be thrilled with a near .500 record for the boy's program. Sorry to get off subject, let's keep the girl's opportunity on the forefront.
  21. Middle school to 8AAA is too big of a jump. I think a young promising coach from a A or AA program would be a good fit. We need someone with alot of energy to devote to the program (Maxwell would have been perfect). Besides that, it has already been noted how our last middle school acquisition went. Just look at the boy's program.
  22. I agree with most of what you said. I think I have already made clear B.B. is a fine man and won't address that any further. More than anything though, thank you for showing some interest on this topic. This should be an exciting time for the program, but nobody seems to want to discuss...
  23. Both Duvall and Alsup KNOW basketball. I believe they can make a really good choice, if the good ole boys will stay out of it and let them do their job.
