  1. Eh, BGA has a good rivalry with Ryan. And I'd even throw in BA and EHS. At least those were the games that I was most pumped for.
  2. Ryan never came within 20 of BA since 2001, but have had their number the past two seasons How is it not? The defense played well and Baylor moved the ball but had costly turnovers. But in the one game I saw them in and in playing them the past two years, they are well disciplined EHS stopped it They do It will be a good game, but with Baylor winning
  3. Someone is a little bit hostile...jeez. Well, McCallie is missing their best player to injury...so that kinda adds to it. Huessman is the real deal at QB. Baylor is very fundamentally sound. In the end, the wing-t (I know McCallie runs the option, I am just not sure what variation of it they run) is my FAVORITE offense, but it is so easy to stop with a decent scheme. Considering that McCallie has not beat anyone of consequence and based on common opponent (Tyner), Baylor is the better team this year. I assume you play for or are associated with McCallie is some fashion, which would explain your unbacked cockiness. If you are going to comment on a game, how about have some substance. Maybe say something regarding the teams outside of, "Dude bro, McCallie is the bestest. Baylor is lame. Yea dude. 12 in a row. woo hoo." And I just wrote a paper on pot and it really doesn't affect your judgement enough to where, if smoked, I would say a completely out of line and ridiculous comment...but yea, don't be so rude next time...at least BlueMom has some wit. Baylor by 10 in a few weeks
  4. No...because the new DII-A is VERY good. DCA, DA, USJ, Webb, and ECS as a top 5 (in no specific order) are all very talented. I mean, Zion has had the same QB for 4 years now throwing 40 passes a game so I would expect them to start clicking against not very great teams. And like I said a while back, the ability for them to now give financial aid will draw a ton of kids from Maury County that have filtered through to Williamson County private schools. But let's not act like Zion has really just become a contender (they will be in a few years though). Congrats on a so far successful season, but take it with a little bit of salt.
  5. Eh this year Baylor will take it pretty easily IMO. I'm very surprised the game was this close, but I suppose it is very rare for an option offense to get really shut down, and I'm sure they kept the EHS offense off of the field.
  6. Ezell went 0-10 and 1-9 the past two years, they really hasn't been competitive since 2005, and they got destroyed by the one decent team they have played this year...so yea.
  7. if blance is still hurt fra can win. good luck coach moore!
  8. hreeeeeeeeeeeeet. you play on the team. dont be a lame #### and try to get a conversation started just bc you hope to be mentioned. bga by 10
  9. Eh, I don't fault you on thinking that. I mean, I think we just didn't match up well with BA. I do think we were better than EHS though. And I'll go ahead and say that we had our shot against MUS but they were the most talented and disciplined team we played all year so, I won't just negate any legitimacy in my statements by being proud and saying we were better than them. But in terms of leadership, based on performance and just presence, he was the best leader we had along with Reeves and Wade. He made everyone on that team better by simply being there (we all had to step up our game to match his). He worked as hard as anyone on the team and didn't just rest on his laurels, he made himself better, be it in the weight room or watching film. Regardless, I don't mind that you think that (Go America and democracy!) because at least you don't phrase your opinion like some little petty brat
  10. Eh I can kinda agree with that, but Baylor has missed the playoffs the past two years by just a handfull of points so I think they are due for a big year. I could see them being like Ryan was in 07.
  11. Oh lordy that was cute. The only time I've ever been down on any aspect of BGA was when they fired Coach Moore and when they made it to where you could only wear white undershirts. In terms of this edition of FHS not being a "classic" Rebel team, I was not reffering to their scheme. I was talking about them not being as good as they have been. I'm not the only person who thinks that so before you go off and say "oh you never played against them and yall would've gotten killed blah blah you're short, etc etc" just know every recent FHS and BGA grad at the game thought the same thing. It was a good game against two very young teams with massive potential, but neither was as good as they had been recently. And seeing as you think Jamal "choked" in every big game, I guess I can make some assumptions here about where you are coming from. You probably play this year for the team. You are now starting and think you are big and bad (though after losing 7 starters on offense and 5 on defense, young guys will obviously start the next year so don't get so high on yourself). But not including the Tyner start in 07, Jamal went 15-4 as a starter in two years. Now in those four loses, the defense lost the Ryan and MUS games. And for as off as Jamal was against BA and EHS, that was as much his fault as it was the rest of the team's fault. Also, I think it would be fair to counter that he came up big in the second half against Webb and played great two years in a row against Baylor and Briarcrest. Lets also throw out that he was probably the only starting QB to have to go both ways in our region. So seeing as NO ONE has ever mentioned the previous two QBs (2-13 and 0-15) prior to Jamal, and I can assume you either 1)Listen to Josh Copeland too much 2)Are not very smart. I mean he is playing DI football 3)Are kind of a racist prick. I'm still very good friends with a few guys on the team and I will always love every coach I was blessed enough to play for (and in debt to, seeing as as small, slow, weak, and injury prone as I was, I would have never gotten to start had they not believed in me and given me a chance to), and no matter where I move to or how old I get, I will always cheer for BGA like I have my whole life. But it is a shame that a few players on the team now feel the need to rip the classes above them to make themselves feel good. I do not think that BGA will be dominant until this freshman class is in their Senior year, at which point, no one will remember last years team or the 01-03 teams, because this class will be phenomenal, will win State that year, and will usher in a realllllly excellent era of BGA football. And duuuuude, don't try to cover up a flame post by mentioning that it will be a good game. Man up if you are gonna talk trash. And don't bother reproducing if you are ignorant enough to try and rip on the player most responsible for turning the program around. Ugh...I think Baylor wins based on size and experience, but BGA can beat this team 49 out of 100 times...so it definitely would not surprise me if they win. (kind of a long, prolly over the top, post but i actually learned alot from playing at bga, and the most important thing was loyalty. hopefully you dont graduate without growing up a little and learning that as well) good luck guys xoxo
  12. I will say this though; the top 4 (EHS, Baylor, BA, MBA) are interchangeable IMO, as well was 5-7 (McCallie, BGA, Ryan). The only for sure I have is that JPII is gonna round out the standings lol
  13. Im still holding out judgement on the FHS game because I dont think that was a "classic" Franklin team, but regardless... I don't think anyone outside of the BGA locker room gave them much of a chance against Baylor the past few years so it should always be a good game. I think if Williams is healthy Baylor has a noticeable edge. Though the biggest factor iin this game is Baylor's line. BGA stopped the FHS duo in part because of a solid scheme, but also Franklin's offensive line was considerably smaller than the DII norm. If Baylor is as good as the first two games indicate, I can see Baylor winning by at least 14. But BGA could easily pull this out. Good luck guys. Oh, and Baylor's place is the BEST in the state. No questions. Hands down. Baylor (without Williams) ??? BGA ??? toss up, as close as the past two years Baylor (with Williams) 28 BGA 17
  14. I think everyone has played to predictions. Mine at least right now is... E/M 1. EHS 2. Baylor 3. BA 4. MBA 5. McCallie 6. BGA 7. Ryan 8. JPII W 1. MUS 2. CBHS 3. Briarcrest 4. St. Ben
  15. As biased as this opinion is, I fully believe if the FHS/BGA game were played last year it would have been more fun/epic/etc (both finished in the top 25 in the state last year) and BGA would've won But alas, I wasn't lucky enough to get to play in this rivalry, so... BGA lost alot of fire power from last year on both O and D, but every new starter that was forced to step up played well. The front seven on defense really impressed me the most. Loeffel will be great at linebacker (he was the one player that seemed to consistently be running downhill and making great reads versus the run). The secondary is very small, which worries me in region play though. I think Thomson did everything he could have, especially in his first start, so that is really encouraging for the future (if the interception went to any other player for Franklin, BGA would have won). It looked like they leaned very heavily on roll outs to pass, which will be harder, again, in region play to execute, and the lack of a downfield threat at receiver will cause issues. Bass made plays all night, and Moore coming back will just add to his explosiveness. I think, by the end of the season, this game will prove to be more the product of Franklin rebuilding than BGA being really good, but regardless, this really erased alot of doubts about this year and the future. A ton of sophomores are going both ways, and plenty of freshman got meaningful playing time. QB seems to be in good hands, and it finally seems like they settled on a defensive scheme that can be used every single week by switching to a 3-4 (which eliminates the size disadvantage). The coaching staff seemed to adjust perfectly to having different personnel for the first time in two years, and as always, throwing youth into the fire just strengthens the the future. I still see BGA going 4-7 (beating Marshall Co, Pearl Cohn, Ryan, and JPII) and then losing in the opening round of the playoffs. I think Baylor, McCallie, BA, EHS, and MBA will be a little out of their league this year, but BGA will fight and definitely have a chance in every single game. And in the end, a 4-7 rebuilding year with a strong base for the future may prove moving to DII-AA as a good idea. Good luck the rest of the year guys.
  16. Just curious, but do you like that they are a little more lenient now? I know BGA is easier overall and more lax on rules than when my dad graduated in 88; and he wishes that it was more the same when I was there as when he was there.
  17. Ehhhhh, then if it has to do with some off the field crap, lets just leave it at that. He wasn't gonna be at MBA this year, now he will be. Case closed lol
  18. Is Shadowens still the coach at MTCS, because if so then that's surprising he didn't fill one out. But every coach needs to fill out the dumb survey. I've got the books from my sophomore through senior year and I am planning on always having those.
  19. I'm with you on the trophy/classification issue. But if the Marine Corps "black flags" training (sends everyone indoors) once the heat index hits a given point (and they do, and have done since at least 1979), then i'm not sure I think it's a really bad idea. In other words, if the Marine Corps thinks that there comes a time when it's unsafe to train for a war, then I certainly think there comes a point when it's too hot to train for a game. Hahaha I didn't know that. I mean, yea that makes perfect sense. I don't really think there needed to be a state wide rule though. I'd prefer to see it left to the discretion of the coaches.
  20. Oh and the wimpification of America continues. Everyone gets a trophy (8 classes) and dear golly, if it's too hot outside lil' Johnny shouldn't be forced to be outside. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
